  • MILF!

  • When and where was it?

  • One of the gratest latin singers of all time!

  • This is the old black man wisdom that claims that the truth is more on those who deny being... rather then in those who advertise to be!

  • LOVE YOU!!!!! Font 1000, Bold, and underlined LOOOVE YOU

    Regards from Perú!

  • Damn, she's still hot as ever! I'm amazed! What a woman!

  • It's not just her singing, but her style, using her voice as a unique instrument. Basia definitely had to influenced by her. Maybe ABBA too. Just masterful voice control.

  • my god...she hasn't aged a day since the 60's.....is she wearing Saurons Ring?

  • @andiejanefisher Oh, I dunno--SHE ONLY SANG "THE GIRL FROM IMPANEMA" NO BIGGIE OR ANYTHING!!!

  • @andiejanefisher I bet a bag of doughnuts you think justin bieber has "talent". Two words:tin ear.

  • Her voice has gotten a little lower...still nice. She aged pretty...

  • bellissima, bellissima...love this woman, love this music :***

  • oh man, Astrud's a cougar!

  • o nome dela eh ASTRUD mesmo? nao seria Astrid?

  • SPLENDID! Just love her doing this! Thanks for posting it!

  • What a beautiful voice!

  • @alontas judging by the clothes / hair cuts I'd say second half of the 80's, astrud is 70 now

  • she ages well!

  • this is the best canto de assanho tune

  • This song is magnific and I like that. Astrud Gilberto is not very knew in FRANCE and it's dommage.

  • Very good combo. Rhytmic perfect. Good balance, Crystal clear. Compliments for the drummer and of course for the team including the top vocalist to get this sonmg grooving amazing. How to play an old song as if it is brand new. Keeping the bossa nova feeling OK. That is top professional.

  • She is like a fine wine...:) It's gettin' better with age.

Love her voice more now then never.

  • I think she is the real girl from Ipanema.... ahhhhhh.

  • She's more confident in her singing here than back in the 60's...I think a tenor or alto saxophone would have been nicer than the trombone, but that's only my preference!

  • 1988 in West Germany

  • What year was this done??

  • pure class, so lovely.

  • so so sexy...

  • I got her autograph at Elarios Jazz Restraunt in La Jolla San Diego. This was 1991. I asked her where I can find her lps because CDs where around then. She said try the thrift shops. Now that a lot of the music has been remastered to CD and music is on the net the hunt it over and her beautiful voice can be heard all over.

  • Like fine wine, some women only improve with age.

  • Very classy lady!

  • Espectacular concierto mejor imposible Astrud Gilberto hermosa como siempre.

  • Bellissima!

  • This is a performance from 1988.Lovely thanks a lot !

  • @thejazzsingers - thanks for giving the year!!! I put this on my 1988 playlist !!

I've created 425 playlists so far, 300 for individual artists, like Astrud, and 120 others that cover the sounds of every year back past 1900.

You can listen to any past year's music as if you've stepped back in time !!

To Geepereet, it is such a joy to see alive performance of Astrud like this !!!!

  • Anybody knows the date of this show. I am happy to hear Astrud in what seems to be recently. She still looks great, and sings as good as in the sixties.

  • recently does not really hit the spot, it rather was in the early 90s, what makes it about 20 years.past.

but concerning her looks and skills you are damn right.

  • @alontas she retired in 2002 after the album "Jungle"

  • @plarq Thanks for the information. I'm the same alontas but have a new address & name.

  • Que eu não sou ninguém de ir

    Em conversa de esquecer

    A tristeza de um amor

    Que passou

    Não!

Eu só vou se for prá ver

    Uma estrela aparecer

Na manhã de um novo amor...

  • @alontas : this show was between 1989 and 1992 in the 2. german television (at this time they had that logo in the corner of the screen)

  • she is so darn hot and her looks and her voice and her everything is really something,

  • this was written by Vinicius de Moraes right? and Toqhino?

  • @tojour Vinicius de Moraes / Baden Powell

  • thanks!

  • 111 is my lucky number. 111,111 is even better, Stan Getz is the best.

  • @Carterofmars 111 is a lucky number by itself. ;)

  • god----------- BOWING

    FTW all hail---- Astrud

  • Meu Deus!!! Horrivvvvellllll

  • I love Astrud's voice and soft approach!!

  • este menda k dice de k esta es responsable de introducir la bossa? no tiene ni puta idea...y Jobim ? y Joao?

  • Astrud Gilberto is responsible for introducing the world to Brasil's Bossa Nova movement. If it weren't for her vocal on The Girl From Ipanema..just think..we may haved missed a superlative genre of music.

  • Astrud é o máximo! O mínimo é ouvi-la todos os dias.

  • What does that mean in english por favor.

  • they said, "Astrud is the best! I listen to her at least once a day."

  • "If you please" or "if you don't mind"

  • `Please`

  • @Geepereet Astrud is the best! The minimum is to listen to her every day.

  • @Geepereet: Following is the English translation: "Astrud is the best! The minimum is to hear it every day."

  • @Geepereet Google Translate

  • @Geepereet Google Translate is good.

  • @Geepereet I really like to jump around...

  • @Geepereet she meant "Astrud is the best! At least I listen to it everyday." or something like that

  • @Geepereet It's a joke. Maximum (awesome) minimum (the less you could do). Astrud is awesome! The less I could do is to listen to her everyday.

  • A Masterpiece!

Canto de Ossanha. Ossanha´s song. Ossanha is a deity of Afro-Brazilian religions. The owner of the herbs. The medicinal ones. He knows all about them. And brings cure. A "folk" song. Impossible to be translated into any language. Sorry. You mus be born in Brazil to understand it. Not even portuguese people can "understand" it. Actually a man suffering of love´s hurt who needs a cure for it. Maybe Ossanha can bring him the cure for it. Maybe. At least, I can understand this way.

  • @Geepereet

    please

  • @Geepereet It's difficult to make sense in English but: First part: The man who says "I give" doesn't give. Cause who gives doesn't say. The man who says "I go" doesn't go. Cause when he has gone he doesn't wanted. The man who says "I am" isn't. Cause who indeed is, is "I'm not". The man who says "I stay" doesn't stay Cause nobody stays when wants. Poor of the man who falls into Ossanha's chant, traitor. Poor of the man who looks for a love spell. Go, go, go, go, I don't go (4x)
  • @Geepereet Second part: ... Cause I'm not a man to take in speachs about forgetting the sorrow of a past love. No, I only go to see a star showin up in a dawn of a new love. Dear friend, sarava! (hail!). Xangô demanded me to tell you: if it's an Ossanha's chant, don't go! Cause you'll regret a lot. Ask your Orixá (spiritual guide), love is only good if it hurts (2x) Go, go, go, go, love Go, go, go, go, suffer Go, go, go, go, cry Go, go, go, go, say ... Cause I'm not a man to take in ...
  • @Geepereet Astrud is awesome! We should heard it everyday, at least.

  • @Geepereet Google translate: "Astrud is the best! The minimum is to listen to it every day"

  • @gonzagaadel2 Concordo plenamente,é muita formosura em seu canto.

  • Out of all the versions I've heard of Canto de Ossanha, this version is definately the best!
