  • Wow...I love how The Bangles had been doing "A Hazy Shade of Winter" (:48) way before the film, "Less Than Zero", ever came out. Later, they finally recorded it and placed it on the film's motion picture soundtrack in 1987.

  • Unusual to hear Grandmaster Flash song or any rap song in a Bangles doc. (starts at 0:00)

  • Suzannah Hoffs looks alot like another girl Prince had a thing for … Suzannah Melvoin

  • @ShortySOM lol I never thought of that. She looks like a skinnier and better version of Sheena Easton.

  • @kgp8 Lol yeah if you google Suzannah Melvoin, they're almost spitting images of each other

  • @ShortySOM Who?

  • @kgp8 Suzannah Melvoin is the identical twin sister of Prince and the Revolution guitarist Wendy Melvoin. The late Jonathon Melvoin (Smashing Pumpkins keyboardist) is their older brother. Sarah McLauchlan wrote the song "Angel" as a tribute to him. Suzannah and Prince were engaged for a brief period of time.

  • @ShortySOM Oh, no wonder Prince had a crush on Suzannah Hoffs! I'll check out Suzannah Melvoin's pic for certain purposes lol

  • How insane is that, that "Manic Monday" was #2, behind "Kiss", BOTH written by Prince? Other than Lennon/McCartney, who else has done that???

  • @estyle40 That goes to show you how much of a genius Prince is. No offense Mike, but u are the King of Pop. Prince is the King of Music.

  • @kgp8 Oh, believe you me, I`ll take Prince`s music over Michael ANYday of the year.

  • @estyle40 Me too, even though I do miss MJ. It seems like any musician's popularity rises 10 times when he or she dies. I always wonder what would happen if Biggie, Pac, or Selena still be living, knowing how weak the music bizness is.

  • @kgp8 It IS a shame that they`re all gone, but really, we`ll always have them forever through their music.

  • @estyle40 I agree, but I wonder if they are still here, will they still be successful? Snoop Dogg still can't top the Doggystyle album or has he? I don't pay attention to today's music lately.

  • @kgp8 Nah, not really. lol. A lotta things have changed even since he came out. And not really for the better.

  • Well, The Bangles were actually Petersons & Hoffs, I mean they created the musical concept, Zilinskas here was just a mere musician and she decided to leave and do some other stuff. She was beautiful indeed, too bad she left. Now that Michael is gone from the Bangles they should have Zilinskas back.

  • Annette was gorgeous. Check out the videos she has with Blood on the Saddle. Lady had one great voice. The Bangles seriously lost a serious talent when she left the band.

  • Well, they were lucky to get Manic Monday from Prince. It's a great song, fits The Bangles style well, and he was a bankable name to have attached to the group at that time. Win/Win/Win for Prince, The Bangles and the listeners.

But it should be said that The Bangles were a great band before Prince had ever even heard of them. One listen to All Over The Place proves that.

  • @kriswright "All Over The Place" is my favourite.Good album.

  • 2:59 "She was perfect; she was perfect..."

  • 1:27 BATTERED BUT UNBOWED!!! - tough girls!!!

  • I have not hear this before; but I had that feeling about Susanna that she had a very special relation to John Lennon.....

And that is very nice to know!!

    ed

  • Copeland to the Bangles is like Don Kirshner was to the Monkees-Arrogant,Self Prasing Asshole!

  • That Copeland guy is seriously irritating. Guys in suits (men in black) -yeah that's the record industry -corporate America. Did the Bangles absolutely no favours (and didnt understand their chemistry either), Manipulated by Columbia stylists (just like today - no difference). And then creepy, cringy Prince hunting Susanna (Predator)and that terrible manic song. omg. Lucky escape for her. But the industry (men in suits) split Susanna off from the band and deluded her. Typical.

  • @jezkn I suspected their look on the first album was probably contrived. I didn't know the back story...But I felt this style didn't fit the music & the attitude they had.

  • @dummytreeThe Bangles were, like so many bands formed in their parents garage ( a garage band!) -which is where their original fantastic style & cohesion was forged. Like so much other young talent- they got pulled every which way -& yes -led astray. - the Copeland episode -the later cringeworthy Prince palava are just two examples - Susanna's ill-fated solo career another. But in the end they survived as a unit(and prevailed -cos they wern't manufactured -and their legacy will long live with us)

  • Yeah that's kind of funny. Prince gave them their first smash hit. Wonder if the end results would've been the same if they didn't get Manic Monday

  • What song at 2:00? anybody?

  • bitches you got lucky prince gave you manic monday

  • @vyanez08 Are you Annette lmao

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
