Remember Dad makin jokes from these guys when i was young, watched codco alot.had big crush on Tommy when i was like 10,b4 i knew anything about what gay was lol
This video features an episode from The Wonderful Grand Band's phenomenal hit CBC TV series of the early 1980s which changed the face of Newfoundland culture and garnered a cult audience across Canada. The Wonderful Grand Band made up this parody song and the name of the mall. To this day, people in St. John's still refer to the Avalon Mall with its more than 140 stores and services on Kenmount Road as the Babylon Mall. Thanks for sharing. :-)
Does anyone out there know where I can find a copy of the Tommy Sexton movie they that was on TV about 10 years ago? I never got to see it and would like to...thanks!
I have the record. I dated one of them. tommy and I would dance all night at the town gay bar, I cannot remember the name. After he moved to Toronto he was never the same. He ignored his NL friends. Still I knew him well and mourned his passing. I still have a dress that I modeled at his sister;s premier fashion show. I was always front seat and center at the Strand in the Village Maill, yes b'ye was some good times, buddy.
I know it's the "Babylon mall" not the Avalon mall but you can't buy a head of lettuce or an electric guitar there any more. :( Also I was in love with Tommy back in the day.

Great stuff. But it needs Edie Tapper dancing in her black-leather mini-skirt while Rick Neale and friends lie conked out in the aisle!
