There are usually two sizes of tables people make for playing 40k ... either 4'x4' this would be good for 750 points to 1250 maybe maximum 1500 ... the 'standard' is 6'x4', all tournaments use this size table also ... if your talking about a display board then there is no standard (as far as I'm aware), it just depends on how much space you need to put your army on it
that is inspiring, must try make one someday, lovley piece. The Hobbit movie will be going into production soon and GW still have licence to produce miniatures for it ...its gona be all about lotr's again soon. take care Viv.
I can. I'm hoping to start work on a city block that spreads of 4 6x4 tables ... fully detailed and fixed - the only thing I may do is allow the buildings facing to be changed, but the roads and sidewalk, canals etc will all be fixed
Ha! Perfect ... I also need to do the same. Modular boards are cool, but when you have a table with fixed scenery its like playing a map from a FPS, especially when playing skirmish games - you get to know the good spots, try to get to them quickly etc ... on a fully sculpted and contoured table everything becomes more 'real'
I'm always looking out for your video's. They are unique because of your style, so keep up the great work. Totally different from other youtube channels plus, you at least cover other systems too, different styles, different types of boards and models etc and you make it all very personal.
Wow, first that awesome western themed table and now this! Not so much a terrain table as a piece of art. You know, there are plenty of talented people on youtube who know how to paint fantastic figures, but when it comes to playing surfaces for thoes great figures they'll compromise and use a simple felt mat or whatever. This is the sort of stuff you want to see thoes models on, something that wont insult the artistic integrity of the model - but enhance it. Keep up the fantastic work guys!
Hi Cat - SOO many people spend HOURS painting their little plastic mens, yet when it comes to fighting a war they'll use books and green felt to make hill! Give your little mens some respect people, they have feelings too!
That stuff is so sweet... Both an inspiration and a bummer..Finally made my first pieces ever and finished them up last night..Southwest Desert type inspiration and theyare by no means any good compared to the stuff I've seen by you, eqtemplar, terrainaholic, terranscapes, etc.. I can only hope to get better as I learn from guys like all of you..

This table is more suited to the skirmish version. I dont think War of the Ring would work to well due to the movement trays etc.
RubbishInRubbishOut 2 years ago
that look awesome. you should try fantasy skirmish using the rules Song of Blades and Heroes. The best rules EVA! That table is Perfect for it.
Xenomorph237 2 years ago
Awesome, thanks for the tip ... havent heard of that ruleset before - will certainly check it out! Cheers
