  • Why do people keep calling it PC?

    Isn't it "Windows"?

  • system restore

  • But what it reallym eans, is taking double the space for each thing you download so it will be saved twice.

  • um make an image of your harddrive/ create a restore point?!?!?

  • @havocnuke9000 sorta kinda. you're recommended to buy a usb hdd or an apple "time capsule". but i think it just saves your changes not really the whole thing. that would be absurd

  • @ericvanhallen a hard drive image saves your whole drive it creates a compressd image of it which you can use to restore it

  • Note to self. Does not work when hard drive dies.

  • This is one of my favorite mac features. So useful!

  • @sundragonra412 RAID0 is one of my favorite PC features.

    Even more useful!

  • @IAmSomeoneOrOther RAID is a hardware feature, nothing to do with your OS.

  • @christoiMc I never implied it was.

Also, I never said it was PC limited.

  • Riiiggghhhhttt, because this is IMPOSSIBLE on Windows, or Linux for that matter. God, Apple, you never cease to blow my fucking mind with your originality.

  • WHO THE HELL CHANGES CLOTHES EVERY HOUR!>!?

  • @quachingducks bitches who want to get noticed.

  • wait you realize you dont have to go through dos, on pc its called system restore duh.. every time you make an software update. it creatives a check point. also if you dont do a major reg. clean. you should have those backup files. also for all pc users that dont know this just give up an buy an apple already!

  • Hurray,more wasted space :/

  • Do all mac users like to have a row of guys line up behind them?

  • woah system restore! gratz mac! shame you're a decade late...

  • Backup Software. The end.

  • Mac: Now I have a power button, to switch me on and off.

    PC: Cool.

    Buy mac. They pioneered everything

  • Episode never published: "Hello MAC! -Hello PC!! -MAC, how did you do for MAC OS X operating system that wonderful?! -We took Linux and we remove all of what was free and customizable!"

  • Right, so when an entire enterprise network dies, ONLY THE MACS HAVE BACKUPS RIGHT? Got it, thanks for clearing that up Apple.

  • Hmm... You try to delete a file and it just pops right back up? :D

  • its called system restore...

  • mac is sick lol

  • Linux fuck em both

  • this is the only advert where mac isn't a boring turd

  • haha. system restore baby!!

  • ever heard of system restore? MAC's are not the coolest thing in the world. they just spend a TON of money on marketing and putting down their competitors.

  • PC CANT DO THAT!!!!!!!GO MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Chris242tt system restore...

  • @Chris242tt By the way mac copied that from system restore

  • so. with a mac you cant delete anything?

  • I missed the Gmod idiot box version where all the Macs get run over by a train. And it's not Time Machine, it was Time'sheen

  • oh? i can do that too...with a shell script, and by adding that shell script to cron.

  • wait, why would he change his outfit every hour?

  • @purerockband ha you said anal ...Twice

  • Never heard about Recycle Bin and Undeleter, MAC? GTFO. Thumbs down.

  • @Purerockband Quit typing in ALL CAPS, makes you look like a child.

Any Adult with a brain who sees one competitor trying smear another will think "well if you are so great, then why focus on your competitors downfall instead of showing some class by only talking about how your product can serve me? You must be hiding something." Yes intelligent people make these judgments because if you can't even conduct advertising in an adult manner, we wonder how the rest of your business is ran.

  • @DMalenfant1

You're welcome to download the quarterly earnings podcasts Apple puts out if you're interesting in "knowing" how the business is ran, rather than "wondering". If you'd rather not spend the time, I'll abbreviate it for you: ~300Bn Market cap (10x Dell), Industry leading employee retention, and roughly 10x the sales per square foot of Best Buy (highest in the industry). The rest of the business is ran pretty well, thanks.

  • @TSBeebout For starters Dell sucks so comparing to them means shit to me. Oh goody, Apple made 300 Bn they just know how to target suckers such as yourself.

Proof: Casinos make a ton of money everyday, especially when the suckers know the house is stacked against them. Oh and remember Extends commercials? They where on for at least a year, and it has been proven there is no way to enlarge a penis but yet guys still bought it.

The only thing you proved is that you are a sucker for this company.

  • @DMalenfant1

They didn't "make" 300Bn, they have a 300Bn market cap. That's a crucial difference. Go ahead and name me a company that you do respect, and I can all but guarantee you that Apple's market cap is more impressive. This isn't about the products, as you seem to think, but about the company itself as a product. Call me a sucker if it feels good, but suckers like me (i.e. other shareholders) have made quite a bit of money on Apple stock these past 5 years. Can you say the same?

  • @TSBeebout If you are a share holder that is fine, go where the money is made, I will never argue that. But I am talking about the product they sell and how they sell it.

If you truly are a shareholder and do stocks and that shit, you really need to quit being a fanboy of any company especially the ones that made you a lot of money otherwise you are a pig waiting to be slaughtered.

Oh and the Apple boomed because of Vista, but now people are starting to leave the Apple club.

  • @DMalenfant1 Bro, you commented 8 months ago, and then 3 weeks ago? You made some great points man, why bother commenting all this time?

  • I have restore points that I can make anytime I want and when the shit hits the fan I just factory restore. Although I am definitely going to ditch Windows Vista for Ubuntu(however it is spelled).

  • ...wait what? PC has this too - without a cool name and trying to peddle it. Its just not as fancy. xD

  • @KingR3aper

Yeah apparently backup software has been available on the "PC" side for decades now. Amazing how Apple ignores the blatantly obvious that when you snare a virus and it gets added to the back-up software that you never get rid of the rash that endears itself to hours of scratching or trips to the Wizard of "Oz".

  • @KingR3aper system restore doesn't do the same thing..

  • @cowsrock94 Uh, not talking about system restore.

  • @KingR3aper then what are you talking about????

  • @cowsrock94 ...Are you serious? How bloody long have you owned a computer?

  • @KingR3aper I've owned a Mac for a year and a half. the last PC i owned (windows vista) didn't (and still doesn't) have any sort of backup software built in. and totally ive owned a computer and done computer repair for nearly a decade.

  • @cowsrock94 You were born in 94, you are but an average computer user that likes to make Cardboard Halo weapons, and you want to act like "Owned and done computer repair" means something? Windows doesn't advertise the crap out of simple shit EVERY damn computer has. And thats backing shit up.

And if you confuse that with "System restore" and don't realize that EVERY damn version of windows came with a backup system, then you are but an average computer user.

  • @cowsrock94 Hence the whole age old video of the guy freaking out on his mac, and him saying "When you delete something on a PC no data is really lost, if you know what you're doing you can recover ANYTHIng thats been corrupted. If you lose it on a Mac, you have to RUN to the applestore and get a mac version of Norton Utilities, then you run back only to have Norton go 'YOU IDIOT YOU OWN A MACINTOSH!' " and that video is fuckin' old. So how long do you think windows had had a way to recover?

  • @cowsrock94 The point is, time machine is a fuckin' gimick, and the fact that people buy into it makes me ashamed of owning one.

  • @KingR3aper don't hold back. tell the rapt audience of youtube how you feel. your virtually yelling at someone you don't know over something as trivial as backup software. and making fun of me because i made some silly cardboard guns? wow you are so cool. not.

  • @cowsrock94 No, actually I'm making fun of you for the fact you were born in 94 yet you say "I've owned and repaired computers for a decade" when you do something as stupid as telling me "Its not the same as system restore".

  • @KingR3aper ok then. correction. Ive used computers for a decade, and been repairing them for 7 years.

  • @KingR3aper its called DOS. you can undelete anything if you know what your doing. PC has ALWAYS had this, mac on the other hand, just started this idea and what? charge 400 bucks to use it?

  • @KingR3aper lol i have a pc, switching to a mac when this thing dies, hearing some clunkin in their XD ! Thats what SHE SAID!

  • Hey. There's this thing called Linux. (:

  • I never said i endorse pc's. what i'm saying is that i don't like apple. no jealousy here. I watched this video because a friend showed me, and i just had to say something because apple is so cocky about their products it's making me sick. i didn't say time machine sucks, but it's unnecessary. tell me something: how does one manage to be stupid enough to lose his file anyway? brainwashed zombies

NO SMART COMMENT HAS BEEN SPEAKED BY YOU just love this sentence.

i won't respond anymore from now on

  • @Purerockband ok listen up, fag. If you actually read my comment you would have noticed that i said the commercial MAKES YOU THINK they make a copy blablabla. I didn't say that I think that. I am simply stating that apple and apple-fans (as you obviously are) are a bunch of narcissistic snobs who think they're revolutionizing everything by adding extremely old technologies to their own products and overcelebrating it. or maybe it's just steve jobs' turtleneck that pisses me off, idk...

  • The is also a feature on a PC that's calles the TRASH that still has all the files you deleted until you delete them the second time, it works just as well as that without flooding the harddrive with copies of the entire system

  • system restore, windows has been doing this for a very long time

  • Time machine rocks.

  • I like how thy all look th same

reminds me of how they all look the same

and how all the kids with macs

    also look the same

    yay for consumer whores!

I own nothing made by apple

  • Wow, how long has it taken steav jobs to think of this while pcs have a thjing called DOS!

  • @max1298 that bill gates bought from some guy for a pitiful amount

  • windows 1.0 have not premiere , but windows 1.1 it have. ah windows will haved be only gui for dos not os

  • And if you Mac gets a virus, you can always find it :D

  • wouldn't that take up epic hard drive?

  • m09c14 got PWNed Jeremiah rocks!!

  • PC had this ages before Mac. It's called SYSTEM RESTORE.

  • Sorry what's that, Oh yeah we've had System Restore for a little while now.

  • @effelloh i dident say it required deep knowledge i said it required some basic easy knowledge and it's not just a few bucks extra it's alot more besides a mac is barely easier i mean what does it have thats easier then in windows 7?

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99, oh yeah, well that "snap" feature, well, on mac, instead of having to click and drag the windows to either side, which wouldn't work for many windows. mac has this nice feature called "expose" which is what PC failed at copying, expose, you could sort out 40 windows, with a click of a button, dont say that's not easier you fucking retard

  • @m09c14 windows dident try copying expose and snap is in no way suppose to be comparable. to organize my windows and stuff i personally use snap, alt tab and windows key + d or the button next to the clock. i dont see ur point in mentioning this

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99, how is it not fucking comparable, and this was a reply to your reply to "effelloh"

  • @m09c14 dude all snap does is resizes ur windows it's just a simple little nice touch

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99, still, the basic idea is copied from apple

  • @m09c14 lol it could be u cant be sure tho can u and i dont see that as being a good deal u think everything apple did was original?

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99. name one thing thats not, apple had the first graphic, coloured OS

  • @m09c14 i dont know everything so i couldent say what they did copy and what they dident but i dont think it was much just cus apple had a color os first it does not mean windows copied it

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99. alright, bill gates still copied the idea of graphic OS's, because apple made it first, so bill gates copied it.

  • @m09c14 yeah they probably did but thats like 30 year old news and alot of the OS ideas come from different software on the web

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99. yeah, and where did that software come from?

  • @m09c14 the software on the web? it comes from everyone lol

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99, rofl, makes sense, but who is everyone....lol jk

  • @m09c14

And steve jobs copied ideas of Bill Gates.

  • @IflyinGa and bill gates started by copying macs

  • @benroolz Source?

  • @benroolz uhm no, windows 1.0 was the very first Operatign System, sorry kid, you bought a mac for nuthin.

  • @effelloh no it's not called usability it's called stupidity i just explained above what did u not understand u have to know something unless u wanna get ripped off like a dumbass so i see no reason for people not to take 5 min and "pop the hood" and save them self $500

  • @effelloh look saying that users shouldent require to know about the inside of there computer is just dumb it's like buying a car without poping the hood or taking it for a test drive 1 thing is to fully understand how the computer works another is to just know like where to put a video card, how to install a anti virus or some drivers thats not at all hard stuff and takes a few minutes to learn

  • @sargen6464 yeah same here i built a great spec computer for like $720 was running xp with no problems just upgraded to windows 7 and it's great i just see no reason for getting a mac

  • lol waste of space who would be dumb of to erase files they needed and besides you can get them back in windows, just learn how to use the a computer well, its not the tools just how ya work 'em... and yea a copy for every hour goodbye hard drive.

  • Linux has the same thing it's call " Back In Time "

  • @Zuerill No, thats not how it works. Its more like a footprint of your changes, it doesnt copy your whole hard drive over and over...

  • @Zuerill they do

  • @effelloh DUDE, macs have intel chips, many people would agree with you, which is why most mac users who use windows dual boot to windows for things like games, get your facts straight man, and yes, it runs at the same speed as it would on a PC, trust me, I play MW2 on the windows side, no lag at all.

  • Hmmm. After watching Their original 1984 commercial, the Irony is just ridiculous.

  • once you go mac you never go back.

  • false

  • @mesuhlikemusic YEAH! :D

  • Though i dont like macs too much i do like the way they market. :)

  • Well some people prefer the extra performance for their underpowered hardware. It makes sense to use Unix based for those cases.

But buying a Mac desktop computer makes very little sense. If you want a durable laptop, say you're a club DJ or something, a Macbook is a good choice because it's durable and supports the newer software. But other than that, it's pretty pointless. The whole thing.

  • Whatever. They basically took an open source, free software, improved it and are aggressively marketing themselves as a premium brand.

Linux or Ubantu are just as fast as OSX. All OSX has to offer over those is compatibility. But just enough to get certain tasks done. It still can't compare to Windows.

So my question is, why don't you just buy a PC, install Linux and run a VMware in case something is incompatible? For most famed design programs you don't even need it anyways, but just in case.

  • @wildbloodydragon cus people are to dumb to do that?

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99 Or too lazy to bother.

You know it's like buying a car. People who don't like cars in general tend to buy Toyota Corollas and Camrys.

Mac is the Toyota of the PC world. Not Rolls Royce, not Cadillac, not Ferrari. Toyota. Boring, bland, reliable, capable but not the most capable.

Except Toyota parts are cheap, Macs aren't.

PC is Chevy. Old fashioned, loud, brash, very capable, bulletproof hardware, but always suffering some small stupid shit.

  • @effelloh There's nothing wrong with buying a painting. But if you buy it, put your own name under it, then ask others to admire your talent, then it's just fucked up.

  • Ma I mistaken if I say that Windows has had a similar feature since probably XP?

Amyway, I prefer to manage my backups on my own.

And what is this? 'if I accidentally delete a file' - is this an OS for retards?

I know Macs are mostly great, but I hate the company for treating people like idiots. Guess it's a good strategy as idiots = huge market share...

  • mac is gay

  • haha! "Thanks PC" "Thanks PC" "Yeah thanks PC" :D

  • PC doesn't need that.

you just download a free recover program xD

  • They have this cool thing, its called system restore. Its been around since forever now on windows. its gets really cool after vista since you can recover individual files from any time in your computer. and on windows 7 you can revert any file back to any previous iteration just from its properties.

  • yeah, but than you must have System Restore enabled in your Control Panel.

and if you did install windows, it is not automatically enabled.

so, people who don´t know that they have to enable it, don´t do that, because they don´t know about it.

and with a free recovery program you don´t have to enable anything.

you just install the program, and search for the file you deleted.

than you press recover, and it is back again.

  • Mine for windows 7 was enabled. Besides by now most people should know what it is, and if you don't your probably on a mac anyway. So no problems there.

  • no thats not true.

    not everyone is a `pc expert´

there are also people who just know how to get on internet, how to play music, how to get pictures on their pc, and how to go on MSN.

  • You don't have to be a "PC Expert" to know this stuff, By now it should be considered common sense. And if you haven't figured it out by now then you probably shouldn't even be anywhere near a computer cause Ive just classified you as Mentally Handicapped

  • hahahahahaha, sorry but i think that i know it better than you.

i don´t think you work as a professional in a computer store ;)

  • It doesn't count if its an apple store. Besides i never said you knew less then me i just stated that people without basic common knowledge of computers are probably Mentally Handicapped, or maybe super old.

  • @Kraftik611

    Are you serious?

Maybe it's about time I say "good bye, XP".

  • It's your opinion, I respect that.

But then again, yes the specs are the same, but the experience isn't .

Depends on what you do. I see signifiant different in HD rendering on OSX.

  • Macs are oversimplified computers - watered down so art students and sorority girls don't have to know how to do anything. The premium you pay for the Mac is making up for your general stupidity of technology. I have had PCs my entire life that I have both bought and built myself. Never any problems because I know what the hell I'm doing. Mac users are only smug about their computers because they need to justify the extra 500 bucks (at least) they paid for their mac over a similar pc.

  • haha you talk like that coz you cant afford one. its infinite times better than windows...

  • @Imaad77 I can afford one, i just don't want to get raped at the cash register. You don't know anything.

  • dude, shut the fuck up. we don't care about haters.

technically, OSX is way more advanced than windows. I still use windows for games, i use linux to mess around and test shit and OSX for everything else. Have you ever used a mac? yes? like 10 years ago? You just discourage me... and extra 500? u have an ALL-IN-ONE 27INCH 1440p LED computer with Intel i7, ATI 4800 series, DDR3 ram, 4800mhz uber-fast FSB, amazing support and build quality and best OS ever.

  • and the windows-based all in one computers suck balls and are way more overpriced. As for Mac Pros and Macbook/Pro, well you just gotta use one to see the difference. You just praise Windows cause this is the only thing you're able to use and the only thing you have. I use all major OSes, and by long-term experience OSX is just better.

  • @JoeyoftheYear all in one computers suck as far as bang for buck in general cus they are more of a luxury if u just want a working computer u will get a laptop or a desktop if u want something thinner and stuff then some might go with a all in one but that comes at a fairly high price so u wont find a cheap all in one with pc but u will find something cheaper then a mac

  • @kooperiskool1

Damn right. I once got into a debate with an Apple user who dared me to spec an identical machine for less money than his new iMac all-in-one. I found better hardware for $500.00 less than his precious new Apple/Unix PC. Then he complained that what I found at Ginstar wasn't in a slim all-in-one chassis.

Some Apple users just never want to admit they pay way too much money for an Intel (or MacTel) computer.

  • @AllFractUp I don't want to get into a bit argument but when you buy a mac you pay for all the little features and the after care E.G. go into a apple store and hopefully a apple genius will sort it out

  • @sharkey500

No sweats. I'm not going to argue with you over this. I can go right back to Ginstar where I get my computers and they will have my hardware problems sorted out quickly and cheaply. All the guys (but the girl who works the counter) actually knows what they are talking about. I've been buying from them since the days of DOS. Now if you don't live close enough to Ginstar you can pay more and wait longer to get some kind of service from Geek Squad which may not be as good.

  • @AllFractUp The experience that I had with the geek squad was absolutely terrible which is partly why I switched to mac.

  • @sharkey500

Well when I had a poor experience with Geek Squad I simply didn't go back to them. A little harsh isn't it to switch platforms over a bad geek experience? :0)

Well whatever works for ya. You're still on an IBM clone.

  • you can find files on a pc that you deleted

  • @1bolanddav This is very true LMAO, just ask all the guys the FBI caught for having child porn, illegally downloaded music on their computer and thought they got rid of it by deleting it or even formatting their hard drive only once.

  • Hmm.. so it takes 5 hours to restor a mac? but it takes me 15 seconds to issue a DOS recovery?

  • Only problem is. Cost of Independent time machine? (needed if you don't have an insane amount of space) meh i dunno exactly but isn't it like 120 quid? The only thing about apple i can comfortably say i enjoy, is my Mac Airport Extreme and my dual boot on my Asus P5Q Pro that i did for free.

  • Windows has a restore files/system feature as well so this one isn't so relevant.

  • ye, but if windows crashes, so does its useless backup system

  • PC? problems?? never had any... -_-

  • thanks PC

  • lol windows does not need that piece of shit you can comfortably delete something and get it back if your not a retard :)

  • Macs and PCs are two different worlds that don't NEED to merge.

Mac users love Macs...inspite of its limitations

And Windows users love Windows...inspite of its problems.

Why can't we just shake on it?

  • windows has nothing to do with it :P

    its about mac vs PC

  • hmph wat limitations

  • "wat limitations"?

I'd like to see you play Codemasters:Grid on a mac...without using Bootcamp (and a copy of windows as well)

    That's a limitation alright!!

you can argue all day that macs aren't meant for games and stuff...but heck a limitation is a limitation!

  • o really, i dont care that it cant play games, thats what my ps3 is for, and ive never heard of that game anyways, so it cant be that great

  • well that IS a limitation...whether you care abt it or not!

And if you've never heard of GRID...you're just sad!

    Google it!

  • how bout i dont, cause i can play all the games i acctually want to play on my mac, oh, and if i want to play computer games i have a pc hooked up to my tv...bitch

  • yea, well if i want to play i can on my pc taht is hooked up to the tv..bitch

  • well you asked for a limitation...and you GOT a limitation.

Hooking up TVs and stuff is a workaround...and no need to get upset just because your shiny mac isn't perfect.

We agree that windows isn't perfect either.

The key is not to think you're the greatest on earth!

    Peace.

  • or i could just play grid on my ps3, a system truly meant for gaming, fuck face, u know with 1080p graphics, something mac has achieved in their computers, but microsoft and all pc's havent, and my tv has a computer jack in it, so it can be connected in about a minute, so u cant even say it is a "woraroud"....and mac doesnt think its the greatest, because it has recognized its imperfection, and the made it able to install windows on a mac, windows wont let an apple os anywhere near it

  • Listen...I'm being polite because my parents didn't teach me to speak like you.

And its not Microsoft's fault you cant put OSX on a PC...Apple doesn't let ANYONE install their OS on anyother PCs.

So please dont shout in the air.

  • ok, sry man, its good to be polite :)

  • and i kinda get easily frustrated, cause some people really dont look at the real facts and truth, but u rnt one of them, so sry about the foul language.

  • @m09c14 @m09c14 oh so if u buy a overpriced mac u get the bonus of having to buy a ps3 for your video games? and dont get started with graphics the only thing u need to know is that a pc pwns a mac at graphics power by far and ur arguement is way wrong microsoft let mac use windows while mac kept there os to themselves that way they can have retards going around spreading false informacion like urself now i hope u see that u made urself look dumb and dont actually know any "facts and truth"

  • @xXJeReMiAhXx99, maybe you should learn to speak proper fucking English before replying, and i don't doubt that PC graphics would be better, but...you have to upgrade them for a pretty penny, also you fuckin Mexican, yes, i have a ps3 cause i can afford one, actually 2, and i prefer console gaming. so go fuck yourself you little PC fan-boy bitch.

  • @rahmannoor well man these mac users arent very smart if u ask me i mean they complain that we have viruses and crashes which i have only seen on computers without a anti virus which takes 5 minutes to get but if u mention games or something they say we dont need that or we have boot camp which i am sure is harder then just installing a anti virus in windows so at the end of the day what do mac users have that pcs dont?

  • what about Macrosoft :D

  • pc has had that for ages

  • @OakridgeProductions9 Just Apple made it easier to do :)

  • @OakridgeProductions9 yep pc has had this forever but mac has to advertise it as a new thing that only they have and make there brainless users believe it is

  • you can recover stuff on windows

  • Windows had system restore (so if something messed up a system file it can go restore it to normal) it doesn't do a huge file backup, but wow, you must need a huge 2TB HDD for that some times (if you fill most of it up \ backup every day\ your full in a few days (considdering the 650gb imacs)

  • the only problem is that system restore still cant remove major problems like lost drivers, fucked up registry, or spywear

  • It can fix a messed up registry.

  • System restore only backs up the registry and system32 files that are important to the operation of Windows.

It is no where near the Time Machine feature. Its closer to the Backup feature on the more expensive business level Windows software.

On a Mac, you have no registry and there is constant backups of important system files.

  • Hasn't anyone heard of Sync Toy? Or a U Drive? PC Rules!

  • people stop debating on which is better, it is just a question of which do you prefer? Some like PCs because its what your use to and works for you, or just like the OS, Mac users go for the things they like: photo, video editing, and the stability of the OS, Plus many Mac users have windows installed through Boot Camp so they can play games and such so it shouldn't be a debate but a discussion based on what and why you use what you use.

  • kudos

  • Macs are now completely PCs with a Mac case and a Mac OS on it.

There is nothing new in Macs needing to install Windows, it's just gotten easier. There's nothing new in PCs haveing Mac OS on them, those people just usually are fixing something so it runs on Mac though.

Currently, editing Software comes out for PC first,.. most software, programs, and games do. Some even make a Linux Compatible version second because they get more request from Linux Users then Mac users.

    Current PC>Mac
