  • barbee called, she wants her jeep back

  • If only IH would have bought better steel or done something about them rusting so fast what a shame they might still be making Scouts to date. I would love owning a scout tierra or truck they are awesome looking as well as the scouts or SS-II

  • 345 was an awsome engine and the stock 4.o sucked

  • any shit head can buy a jeep and build it up with bolt on kits. If you have a scout, you learn how to use a welder, torch and a grinder real fast

  • so gay to comment on a post i left a year ago, anyhow, i dont even give a fuck. i own 2 jeeps. an 81 cj7 and a 93 xj. both will blow the pants off that scout. its a shit can. fuck you

  • @iliveinglendora scouts r way better than jeeps hands down, thats the facts

  • @brhsbass1

yeah they sure are(were) thats why international is still on the road. sure. not to say the scout was not an awesome vehicle, just saying they are not and were not all that. they just looked cool.

  • @iliveinglendora ...wut? i didnt really catch wut u were tryin to say there man, anyway tho, i stand behind the fact that scouts r way better then jeeps, they rnt on the road anymore cuz they financially couldnt compete with such large companies

  • @iliveinglendora why are you so mad? get a scout for yourself and youll see. I owned a jeep cherokee and wrangler, sure the wrangler was newer and had better mileage but honest to god i love me scout 10x more than that thing.

  • @iliveinglendora

Sell that shitty 93 and keep the damn 81 cj. The Scout with a Dana 44 and the IH V-8 would fuck your little pile of trash Jeep up and down. A Kia sportage beat a Jeep in the Dakar rally. It's true look it up.

  • I won't argue Scout's off road prowess, but can you say rust? I bought one new in

'75 and by 1980 it was a flintstone mobile with softball sized holes in nearly every panel. I wouldn't have purchased another one if they were having a 2 for 1 sale.

  • and scouts are also way more versatile i got a buddy that pulls 5th wheels out on his farm with an old scout II and scouts have more power for plowing and stuff like that

  • oh and the only jeep thats ever given me a good run but i still beat him was a 56 willys wagon thats the only jee thats come close and a 69 bronco didnt do to bad but still didnt compare

  • ok guys its not even close scouts dominate off road nothing even clomes slose to internationals the drive train of an old scout international pickup or even travelall is completely bullet proof my cousin comes up to montana to hunt in his cj and hes snapping axels and all kinds of crap the only thing thats ever happened to me is ruing out of gas haha and my scout has 5.56 gears in it and it still out runs that jeep and hes selling his now and getting a scout

  • lol bigler yer a bad ass!! scouts r so bad!!

  • my uncle and my dad are Scout fanatics! lol we go to a rendevous every year! i only go for the guys lol jk

  • I have a scout on 33's, and my friends jeep will go places it wont (jeep is smaller, lighter, more expendable, etc) however in a race, my scout has smoked a jeep with a 360, and a built blazer. and on asphalt a newish Toyota truck (from a stop light) plus IH's are built to last more than any other vehicle i have ever seen. ever. they have the best quality engine internals etc hands down.

  • I have to agree with the majority... the international will always be better...bare bones, nothing better

  • scouts r bettttr

  • for one thing, you cant get all pumped up when there is an out class on hp. cava. do not bullshit, you do not own a scout and a jeep. i seriously doubt that you have both vehicles featured in this video, as a matter of fact, i doubt you even have one of them. a v8 tj would own that scout. scout was so awesome they were discontinued. jeep, still here. hmmmmm. now who is daddy?

  • I own the Jeep, and thats my bros Scout you jackass.

  • Dont you feel like an asshole now. Souts are better than cj's. Never seen a stuck scout

  • This scout needs better tires so it does get stuck sometimes. The Jeep's got 33's and it sails through the mud. Only time I've gotten the Jeep stuck is when the 4wd shifter fork broke, and when one front wheel dropped off of a cliff and the axle bottomed out. Didnt want to go forward >X(

  • @humanorc transfercases dont have forks you idiot x] its a gear setting, Neutral 4 High and 4 low x] glad to know you thought you knew what you were talking about, and really off a cliff? thats beleiveable

  • Ok, ummm Scouts may have been discontinued but they still live stronger than ever. I walk all over tj's with my Scout and other V8 powered jeeps that had every V8 AMC ever made, 360, 401, 390 etc....The situation that caused the demise of the scout could have very well as easily happened to Jeeps. And another thing, There is negotiations this very moment to bring back a third generation Scout, so who's yer daddy now, huh????!!!

  • Not sure who YOUR daddy is (does your mom?)... but I am sure of a few things.. Scouts are by far tougher overall and STOCK than Jeeps, they were discontinued due to the gas crisis and government regulation changes at the time, and... YOU LIVE IN GLENDORA... so don't judge if THAT is your standard of "best ideas". Now that you are spanked.. crawl back under your jeep loving rock.

  • Steve, the scouts demise was due to the workers striking, of which an agreement was reached for them to finish 1980 production, then the board of IHC decided to shut it down because the Scout Light line was no longer profitable, despite a price increase over $10,000 for a base model 1980 Scout. IHC had to keep pouring money into the Scout/Light line for the last 3 years from the implement division to keep it alive. The last 2 years sales were the highest they'd ever been.

  • and gas prices and vehicle regulations on weight vs emissions......

  • @ChuckTruck78 the strikes pretty much ended IH, in fact if it was me id just fire tham ungrateful workers and get new ones

  • @ChuckTruck78 the strikes pretty much did in IH, i would of just fired their butts and got replacements quicker than they could say picket

  • @iliveinglendora they only discontinued scouts because they were not selling well anymore so IH figured they would make one last effort to build a smaller diesel engine truck i guess to save money but anyways scouts are way better i mean back in 1977 jerry boone beat a jeep cj7 with an international scout 2 in the daytona 500 by 2 hours!!

  • @iliveinglendora you are a bit of a moron I take it.... Hummers were discontinued too, so let's hear the shit talk from you 10 years from now about how shitty the H1's are?...

  • @iliveinglendora scouts were out because of fuel economy. Scouts have character and are different. You see soccer moms with jeeps, you see men with scouts.

  • @iliveinglendora I own a scout, a Modern V8 would beat out the old 345 V8's the scouts ran. Im sure the TJ/FJ would run laps around it because of the suspention on the scout was Leafs all around, Now if you upgraded the suspention system, and fuel injected the 245 in the scout I'm sure that old boy would run laps around anything on the road today ;) Restoring mine to original or as close to original as i can get

  • @iliveinglendora scouts are still hear much more so than old jeeps and who sold out?

  • scouts rule the road
