  • The clouds were, indeed, glorious - I enjoyed the grass in the beginning too! Did you film this stuff? Where was the tee-pee located?

  • Yep, I filmed it. I collected video of clouds over the past year as time and chance permitted with the idea of making this. (Can you say obsessive?:) The tee-pee (and the grass!) were filmed at the Missouri Botanical Garden Shaw Nature Reserve, where I go hiking to look at wildflowers, butterflies, and birds. The tee-pee and a sod house are in the middle of a restored prairie and are used for educational programs.

  • Wow - I'm really impressed. Impatience creeps up on me and I've never successfully shot ANY time-lapse photography. OH! I just remembered one year when we set up a still cam to take a pic every 30 seconds while we decorated a Christmas Tree - that was fun! (But I bet my hubby was responsible for it ;‹)

    ANYWAY, YOUR FOOTAGE IS AWESOME!!!

  • Gorgeous! I enjoyed this very much. What do you shoot with?

  • Thanks! Happy to hear you liked it.

You might like my "Snow Day" video too.

I use a Panasonic PV-GS500, a nice little cam with full manual control capability--useful for videos like this one with changing light conditions. It isn't a HiDef camera, but it is certainly good enough for uploading to YouTube. :)

  • And now I have Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" stuck in my head.

  • Great, now I do too. So yeah, thanks for stopping by. Thanks a *lot*. :)

  • Anytime. ;)

  • Dude, how did I miss this? How?

    Thoughts as I was enjoying:

"How frantic we must seem from heaven's perspective... so like bustling ants."

    "Wow."

    "Nature's purty nifty... and purty."

I loved the design in your shot from 1:40-42 and the rain at 2:27. Lovely captures once again, and thanks for sharing your "day" with us, BG!

  • Viewing ourselves as the clouds would see us would be a good perspective for people to have now and then.

FYI, at 1:40 is the Saint Louis Science Center Planetarium.

    You might have missed this due to the YouTube subscription bug, where some videos weren't showing up on your subs page. grr >:-{

I'm glad you found the video though. Thanks for stopping by!

  • This was beautiful!

  • :D Thanks Jason!

  • The was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes.

    Stunning.

I'm going to feature this on my page for awhile. Beautiful work. You are an amazing film maker.

  • Wow, thanks Gary! I got misty-eyed a couple times in the final edits. I credit a lot of that to Will's great music. When I heard it I knew it would be perfect for this. It has an arc to it that matches the story I wanted to tell in clouds. The combined effect carried more emotion than I ever dreamed.

And thanks for feature on your page. That means a lot to me.

  • I love time lapse. Some great footage and nicely put together I enjoyed watching it. You were right the music fits it well! 8^)Thanks for the credit. ;^)

  • I'm glad you liked it. Thanks so much for letting me use your song. I really couldn't have asked for a better track for this project!

  • Amazing, I especially like the last shot (the one before the credits). Ever since my cellphones had cameras in them I take so many pictures of the sky when the sun is either coming up or going down.

The finest artist known to men is mother nature herself.

  • Since I started this project I've come to notice what's going on in the sky a lot more. I've seen some cool stuff, but of course some of the best were when I didn't have my camera with me!

  • Yes, me too, I remember very clearly the sky I once saw that had a stroke of red. It was a completely clouded sky, and it looked as if the "painter" of the sky was busy mingling the right mixture of blue and gray to get the color for the clouds, accidentally hit a little bit of red in there, painted one stroke and was like "woops".

The stroke actually had a bit bigger beginning and finish like a painting stroke has, extraordinary, yet forever trapped in my mind only.
