  • Its a little different because the ascending scale and descending are a little different.

    Basically Rag Yaman uses all natural notes in the major scale except the 4th is sharp. On the ascending pattern you skip the root and the 5th, descending all notes are used. The "scale" this raga is based on is called Kalyan, which means the 4th is sharp. In Indian music the 4th is called MA, sharp is Tivra MA. Indian music uses solfiege that goes SA, RE, GA, MA, PA , DHA, NI , SA
