Clearly the Republicans have done a poor job because they are clearly not conservative. The democrats of gone insane ever since the communist revolution of 1968. If this country had a true conservative/nationalist party we would levy tariffs against the PRC, have a stronger military, have a non-interventionist foreign policy, and have a pre-1912 tax & money system. All of the current taxes bring the U.S. ever closer to outright socialism. Ron Paul is the only constitutional condidate.

Why do Republicans suddenly care about non-conservative candidates? Bush has expanded the size and scope of the federal government more than any Democrat in history, and they all seem to think he's conservative! 1) It's not sudden, and it's the other way around. Conservatives note the Republican nominee legislates like a Liberal.

2) Bush has been doing his best impersonation of a Democrat since he took office, except for his refusal to surrender to Islamists. Basically, he's a disaster. Conservatives have been voicing their objection. Listen.

But the main point is the totalitarian rules of McCain-Feingold ensure that owners of big media and billionaires are the ones to pick candidates now for both parties.
