14 people had to lift something heavy to the trunk of this car.
I like the Sebring. Im renting a Limited 2.4 without nav and it's easy to drive, comfortable, sounds good, fits into many parking spaces, and has ample cargo room. I love it.
It's not very good looking, it's not particularely fast, not the best economy, not roomy, not fancy, not the most reliable. In other words it fucking sucks. I've traveled more than 1k miles in one of these and I can tell you that it doesn't get close to any European or Japanese competitors.
I bought a 1997 Chrysler Sebring JXI Convertible 1 month ago and have been having problems ever since I bought it. Replaced the distributor for $400, replaced spark plugs, convertible top leaks rain into car, tachometer needles go crazy on start up, sometimes the does not even start, has an oil leak now, engines fine, transmission is a POS, I paid $4000 for it! Im going to get rid of it as soon as I can. Going to go buy a 2003 Mustang GT Convertible. Chrysler= Money pit.
I totally hate the styling of the '08 and up. Chrysler quality is also bad. But cars are like a 'religion' . Some people worship Chrysler. The old Mopars of the 1960's and 1950's were actually the best cars of that era. That's not at all true of Chrysler quality and engineering in recent decades.
the seats are uncomfortable the interior is cheap and engine is noisy but it does so weell on the higway like shit you just poass evrybody goes the negine just keeps running :)
Just got one as a replacement car at my garage. It is definetely the WORST car I have ever driven! I can not imagine somthing good about it. It is noisy, poor build quality, very bad seats, ...
i just bought my 2008 chrysler sebring today and i've been trying to find out info on the uconnect. i definitely have the buttons for it, but it says i'm not equipped. does that mean the car itself isn't equipped or just that i need to subscribe or something?
When they drastically changed the styling of the Sebring into an "old man's" version, it lost a lot of appeal. This car looks clunky and dated. Consumer Reports says the mileage is extremely bad for a mid-sized car. I'd never consider buying one with the current styling and low gas mileage.
If you think the 2.4 is weak, you should drivetest the European 2.0 version. It's compltely ilogical. It's not good looking, not fast, not strong, not luxurious, not cheap and not economical. What's the point with this car? God I don't know... I wonder how does Chrysler make any profit... Oh, wait, they don't.
I love my 08 Sebring I bout a week ago, Different Style Different Feeling which is what I look for in all my vehicles I've bought, I have the 2.7 V6 Touring Model I'm 6'2 could adjust my driver seat to my liking & still have room to sit comfortably behing the driver seat, NICE bumping 6-7 speaker system to Cruz & this is a Cruzing car. Out of all the cars I've drove, road in, Chrysler's vehicles have Always given me the best feeling of what I'm looking for in a vehicle.
Do people actually buy cars made by shit Chrysler? Which also means Jeep, and Dodge. HA I love the grey cheap plastic that they use to make up everything as their interior...other than the seats and carpet. Absolute shit. I really hope they go out of business. Horrible cars, absolute JUNK.
chryslers interiors were actually decent in the 90s, and early 2000s you can thank daimler-benz for cutting 50% out of the budget for interior quality, but don't worry chrysler is working on it there will be all new interiors, and exteriors for the sebring and other chrysler/dodge cars for 2010.
Like he said the 2.7l offers a good balance between fuel economy and performance. I had a 2004 I bought used and traded it in on a bran new 2009. They both are excellent cars. I like the body style of the 2004 better. I shopped aroung durring the clunker rebates and found this to be the best value out there. Too bad people don't know about it. Perhaps that is why I got such a good deal.
Only time will tell about reliability. I have a 1995 Tacoma which is in excellent condition and should last another 20 years. I had undercoating, rust protection, paint protection and stain resistance put on my Sebring. It will always be garaged and I will change my own oil, etc. I am aware of the sludge problem which also afected many Toyotas, Volkwagons, Audis, Suabs, etc. It will get the best of care. I always changed the oil at 2000 k in my 2004 Sebring, It was in the best shape.
My bad, disregard my comments! I thought you were talking about Chryslers!!! Tacoma's 2.7 engine ROCKS!!!!! The 2.4 (on 2x4 models) is s SOLID vehicle as well.
i don't hate this car...i think chrysler needs to redesign it to compete with the competition, but i dont get all of the hate... it's interior is clean! and it's not ugly...you wanna hate a car? go hate a ford focus...i do not like that car at all...
He should have just said do i really need to do this cus i just hate this car......I really dont want to comment on this car.......I love imports not American shit...........
Oh fuck you people. I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring, and I love it. it has HUGE amounts of room, and it has fantastic looks and performance. All you people are just biased with you cheap ugly lil imports
The Chrysler Sebring is the butt of jokes. It's poor quality, ugly, and no intelligent person would buy one. They are easily the worst mid sized car on the market.
the reason i would know is because i read consumer reports, car and driver, motor trend, automobile, autoweek, and forbes, and others. i've also looked at resale values, and i've been in the auto industry for more than a decade. perhaps you are a "chrysler enthusiast," which is fine. given that, sometimes you have to open your eyes to reality. what i wrote is the reality.
You can't base an entire car off what you read in magazines, I read that a certain car wasn't very good, but then I had one as a rental and found out it wasn't nearly as bad as they said. Magazines are paid by automakers to give good impressions about their cars, you gotta get into the real world.
Probably because a lot of people base many of their decisions on third-hand information and what they read in a magazine. For example, I know people who've bought Japanese cars because they 'heard' they were the best cars in the world and then had a ton of problems with them. You have to check things out yourself rather than basing decisions on others' opinions.
I have no idea, did they tell you that? I know that if I were to buy a midsized car, it wouldn't be my first choice, but there are a lot of people who like the car.
Thank you somewhatlongdong, this is what I've been telling my friends for the past few weeks because one of them bought a Sebring convertible and everyone thought it was magnificent.
THAT'S RIGHT!!i dont know what the fuck chrysler auto makers do with all the space.
i mean their cars look huge outside but once u get inside it's so tight and you hit your head constantly to the root of pillars!! for instance pacifica is as big as a fucking cross over but inside its really good for 4 adults and not even 6!!
No go do yourself a lame ass favor and look up the word crossover vehicle, it's a vehicle that's based on a car platform, while borrowing features from suvs, and/or minivans.
