  • beautiful craftsmanship, I could listen to it idle all day. I can't wait to see the bike you build to place it in! but you'll need to teach a monkey to ride it!

  • Absolutely fantastic, well done Sir!

  • If you have the ability to build this from scratch, It seems you could just as easily build yourself a full size motorcycle.

  • Yeah, that's cool

  • OMG you are the man!! That is amazing, my dad would love a shovelhead model engine to put in his harley collection......Wish you were selling them it would fetch a pretty penny.... hint hint cough wink

  • Are you running an oiling system? I see what looks like an oil pump at the rear of cam case. And a crankcase rotary breather?

  • You Sir ... are awesomeness defined.

  • that sounds awesome! i would love to buy it if you decide to sell.

  • i want one for my moped that would sound awesome! XD

  • Totally. Fucking. Awesome.

  • see, im with the schwinn stingray idea... but simplify the design even more.

the beauty of cnc is that once youve designed jigs and mould patterns etc, and have the gcode sorted out, making something like this in batches becomes....possible :)

have you gone to the effort of any grinding and or hardening of bearing shafts etc?

would be vital for something intended to be used more than the occasional start.

    that SOOOOOUND!!!!

  • Great job!, it even smokes like the real thing too.... LOL ,, *not a cut, a comp :-)

  • Very cool

  • Put in in a mini harley

  • Needs rings lol

  • Hi,How did you make that? have you some advice for me?

  • you are a really genius ! what a mind!

  • Nice Job! To me, the proof of how well you did is how slow does it idle.... and yours was idling pretty slowly. well done sir.

  • Wow that is awesome!

  • Awsome. It realy does sound like a proper v twin...

  • @thra5herxb12s Could it be because it IS a proper v-twin?

  • @husky041 Exactly. "Proper* being the operative word here. I used to have a metric cruiser that didnt sound like a vee.

  • its niiice. i wish small already built engines were more affordable. its probably cheaper for me to look on a local website at engines and just buy someones used engine out of a vehicle. my cousin sold a perfectly fine 302 for 150 cause he got a newer improved engine.

  • That is soo awesome i would love to run my vintage minibike on that

  • Thats is amazing!!! Everything about it!! WOW!!! I would love to have that on display, I'am a harey owner and a huge fan! Good job!

  • i am more than extremely impressed by your mechanical ability's sir. well well done.

  • Nice work!! Wish I had the time. Blueprints for sale?

  • get the hell outa here, thats the coolest thing ive seen in a while!

  • how much did this cost you to make and who made it for you?

  • @vickarious808 I made it for myself completely from scratch.

  • @ronsmodelengines It's beautiful :D

  • @ronsmodelengines now time to build the mini motorcycle to put it in...

  • Only one exhaust manifold is smoking, why?

  • I'd like to fit into a 5th scale rc buggy, that'd be cool.

  • i want this in my norwigian moped

  • It even burns oil like a real Pan!!

  • You should build a scale board tracker and stick that engine in it .. Awesome work !

  • Comment removed

  • where you get those?? I just want buy it

  • @BlueFlamesHD1 I built this myself. You can't buy them.

  • @ronsmodelengines

    You built this?? oh shoot!

  • imagine that thing on a scooter! it would be the most badass scooter ever!!

  • I understand fully why you don't want to sell it...but it's beautiful...and I can't tell you how much I'd like to have one like it. I've got a '54 and allways rode pans...what you've done gives me hope...

  • wow what a work of art nicely done.

  • Coolest toy ever.

  • that would make one killer mini bike motor!.... Harley would for sure corner the market if they made small bikes with motors like this..... that motor is awesome....awesome workmanship!!!!!!!...

  • Superb!!! Is it really loud?

  • Mr.Ron, the first time i saw this it had me roll'n on the floor as i thought this pan is really fuckn run'n! The craftmanship is awsome, the little pan that could! U r a true, skilled craftman! Not many people could do what U've done!!! Many thanks for the show Mr.Ron awsome job well done!

  • Comment removed

  • burns oil like mine :-) awesome A+++++

  • Love this!

  • awesome

  • Nice, now you should build the rest of the biker and have a midget ride it. Can you imagine a whole gang of midget bikers on choppers with these? That would be so cool.

  • @seahag831 "rest of the bike" not "biker"

  • You should put it on a skateboard:) or in an RC car..... or just leave it on a stand. No matter what way you choose YOUR THE WINNER :D

  • All Toyota Prius owners are now angry... because this engine has more power then their car....

  • MAGNIFICENT!

  • its got no mufflers! just like all the real harleys..

  • Oh Baby, That Thing Just Screams "Lets Rock N' Roll"!

Thank You for Your Fine Craftsmanship!

  • great work ..how much does it cost?

  • what no kick start?

  • can anybody say dirtbike frame

  • Well done m8, respect..

  • Awesome.

  • potato...potato...potato...

  • I love it! Where can I get one?

  • classic Harley vibration knocked bottle off table. make a nice gravel compactor power plant

  • ...Amazing!!! -sounds like a baby Harley

  • Wow! I can only imagine how many hours went into that! Even at that scale it still sounds like it needs an S&S carb. lol

  • that would be asome is a mini chopper

  • That is wild, good work.

  • Perfect for a bike.

  • I need one of those for my custom chopper bicycle. Got a transmission to go with it ??

  • when did this turn into a grammar lesson? Your a kid who gets off on being tough on a keyboard. I know your kind...pc cases...hide from general pop because youd be killed otherwise. smart mouth. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? punk

  • you got some serious machining and engineering skills! awesome

  • Right Cyl looks rich

  • Is building miniature engines an actual hobby or just boredom? This is the first miniature engine I've ever seen and I think it's the coolest thing ever! Nice job.

  • omg..that is amazing. what an engineer!.... much respect to ya mate..

  • i´m just wondering, if you build motors like that, why don´t you build a real one?

  • Looks awesome! and sounds right too! I also would like to see a scale bike around it.

  • where I want to buy it bro...

    adi_linux17@yahoo.com

  • Bad ass

  • You have some serious skills ! That's Awsome !

  • BEST PANHEAD I EVER HEARD

  • That is hands down, no shit, I'll be damned, one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

You people who can use Machine Tools are like gods.

I can't spell Lathe...and you can build an engine from scratch with one.

    I feel so.........lame.

  • The model aeroplane people use 4 stroke engines and have very small, light and not too expensive electronic ignition systems. One of these would hide away in the base of your engine and save the battery on the end. I used one on a small engine I built. Search "Freelance open crank horizontal petrol engine". Otherwise a very good job.

  • simply f- ing awsome.... i think that says it all!!!

  • Dude that has to be the coolest thing ive ever seen , I want one!!

  • It makes the harley's music! You're my new idol!

  • Ron,

I would love to buy the drawings if you have them. great work, outstanding workmanship !!!

  • you build amazing stuff! very nice work! what do you think about a rolls royce merlin v12 or something else? sadly i haven´t got enough time to build something like this but when i retire i will do it!

  • hey boss would that motor hold a person ? give me a call so that we may talk ? my number is 1-575-336-7755 mario

  • Just gotta say AMAZING! Great job! That thing has got a racing cam profile the way it gets down there real low after getting warmed up. Were you able to do the forked rod with rollers or did you use the bronze bushings? Thanks for posting.

  • Sad that it seems most kids would not want to carry on learning such skills. Great job.

  • That is bad to death outstanding work

  • Excellent work sir,....respect.

  • artist and craftsman !

  • Way to go Ron! Must have been awesome making such an engine. Congrats!!

  • this video is impossible to dislike!

  • that's awesome awesome and amazing!!! ;)

  • Gives me goosebumps! You did it right!

  • When it ran, I expected it to go "tater tot, tater tot, tater tot...." ;)

  • that thing is the cats Meow really cool thanks for posting

  • i look at this and think "hmm, miniature engine... bicycle.."

  • @gurn58 I DID build this completely from scratch. There isn't anyone selling such an engine complete or in kit form. This is a one off a kind.

  • @ronsmodelengines i want to put one in my chopper bicycle with a transmission too lol how much hp does it make and what size is the motor

  • @ronsmodelengines do you have and fucking idea how well off youd become if you actually build these on mass????? id deffinately buy one

  • @ronsmodelengines HOW DID U MAKE ALL THE MINI PARTS?

  • @ronsmodelengines

Wow, scalling the original down to this size must have caused unique problems.

I'd love to see how you made all these parts.

The details and finish are amazing! (and I can only imagine the inerts like valves, crankshaft etc etc..)

And bonus points for actually getting it running!

  • @gurn58 troll

  • Cool! sounds like a harley... smokes like one too! lol

  • @gurn58 At the time of this video I was running it with a oil mix in the fuel.

  • @ronsmodelengines Oil mix? 2-stroke oil?

  • @Isjix Just a bit of castor oil.

  • @gurn58 I wonder if it leaks like one too?

  • have you considered building a scale bike around this engine? I wrote the"potato, potato" thing, It's just such a cool thing. You are a true artist.

  • @wc4dblues Thank You

  • @wc4dblues He should build a little tractor for it. You know, a tractor, lke a real "Hardley".

  • @CrudeDude Seriously, you cant see the awesome engineering in this project? This is great! I wonder if you even own a bike? i can tell your young because anyone using the phrase "hardly davidson" has to be imature. Make your mistakes now youngster cuz there wont be any excuse for ignorance when your older

  • @missionron Ignorant? I know the difference between "your" and "you're". You obviously don't. That makes YOU the ignorant one in THIS conversation.

Hardley Davidson, old technology for old people.

  • Thank you for the answer.

  • This is good.

    Do you sell it?

  • @PSBPjp No, this is just a one time engine build that I did.

  • POTATO,POTATO,POTATO....even sounds like the real thing..... well not quite as throaty. WELL DONE

  • @wc4dblues Thanks

  • I'm not buying it. That is a full size pan head, it's the guy who is 2x scale. LOL Seriously, really nice work!

  • @quick5pnt0 Hahaha

  • I'd like to see this one on a cool chopper style bicycle

  • @RCNitroHelp101 No problems with overheating. Only run it a couple of minutes at a time.

  • ok. where's the real panhead. behind the camera? this thing just too amazing to be a model! GREAT job...if only i could this...i don't have a cnc, lathe, or drill press....just a regular electric hand drill and simple hand tools...

  • @scbjgs Thanks for the compliments. No CNC. Have mill lathe and a drill press.

  • @ronsmodelengines i have a shop smith which has a wooden lathe "option" on it. is there a bit or anything that i coud buy to be able to use it with aluminum or some other metals to make an engine?
