Hi there, Can u tell me plz whats the measurments to make a flute in G key? i want to meke a flute by my own but dont know anything aobut the measuremtns plz help me =) hugs - Portugal =)
Nicely done. Have you tried making an end-blown flute like a shakuhachi yet? You'll use mostly the same materials and processes, but you get a much different sound.
I've messed around with a few of those, but can't play them well. My friend, Sal, has made some nice ones. I've got to give it another try. I love the sound of those for sure.
You can use a stick and just hit the joints from the inside and they will break away, you can use a metal rod and heat it in a flame and burn them out, or you can put a point (stone, metal whatever) on a stick and drill them out by spinning the stick.
Yea, that's how I do it. I use a piece of rebar and punch the nodes out and then use a big round/rat-tailed file and then sandpaper stapled on a dowel to sand them flat and smooth. Sorry for my delay in replying.

I usually just tune them to others I have. But using the tuner, I set it at 440 for an A

I am making one currently. It's going to be longer then those and bigger around. I just need to know how to get the knots out.

Why do you need the strings?

You bind the bamboo to help prevent cracking.
