Doctorbass you are my HERO! I think that what you are doing is totaly AWSOME! Keep our dreams alive and NEVER STOP electrifing this world. BRAVO. You are helping so many people. Gatch :)
Do you have a personal web page or a site or an email in which I can contact you? I'm from Argentina and I want to make one toy like this. I want to know how to make it real :D!!!!
@nikotinarr Go on the endless-sphere forum, you will find all the infos you need there. Doctorbass is a well known user of this forum, actually so much that we call him "the McGyver of ebikes" ;-)
Nice..... you're doing something that i would love to do too....here in brazil we have not the hardware, the machine, the motor...so.... i am your fan..you are building my dream toy.... nice..... very nice...go ahead...and publish more and more videos.... put in french that will be better to understand than your english... i can understand french very well
Battery: I built it with A123 cells from Dewalt recycled battery. It's 28 blocks in serie of 4 cell in parallel for 92.4V nominal at 9.2Ah. but it can discharge at 480amps no prob
Controller: Infineon controller built with 18x IRFB4110 mosfets that i modified with better capacitors and beefed the traces etc..
Motor: Crystalyte 5402 hub motor that i modified to a 5304 for better low end acceleration
Man...you are my E hero. Your builds are off the charts. I wish I knew as much about ebikes as you do.
I am looking to get my first ebike conversion kit soon, and am doing research on the forums. Its seems so complicated. I just want to go fast 50kph ish and far 40-50km on a charge + have some decent reliability. Any suggestions on a nice conversion build for around 1k?
Best for you is spensing 50% on the battery and 50% on the controller and motor combo
500% for the battery, 300$ for the motor and wheel and 200$ for the controller.
48V 15Ah will give you 55km/h max speed and 50km distance ( at 35kmh). The new HS35 from crystalyte would be a good choice. But wait until the sensored version is released in the next month. a 12 mosfet controller from infineon would be best too ( the oe with the 4110).. search on the forum
