Laffeylad,I must admit I fell away from Rory in early 80's,got into Lynyrd Skynyrd,he tended to play heavy rock where I was more into his blues side, but I'm glad I came back.I've been seriously into Rory for the last 4 years(and his heavy rock!),ever since I went to an EC gig and he didn't say one word all night! Rory would never do that, the guy was too nice,he thought about his fans!
Dave, Good point, Rory thanked the cowed after every song and bowed coming on stage and going off, real pro, something he may have picked up with the show bands, It was a little edge and meant alot. I'm sure he thanked you many times for coming to the shows too. As for the 80's the man evaporated altogether, certainly in Ireland and I have plenty of strange stories to back that....people just did not know who the guy was.!!
i agree, i never had a chance to see Rory(RIP) wish i had, i have seen eric nd all he said all night was "thank you" after every song, realy annoyed me! great gig though, but if i could see anyone (past of present) live it would be Rory! RIP Rory thanks for all the tunes - Keep the blues alive - (Y) peace!
I first saw Rory on TV in the early years,he was on a BBC 2 show called "Disco 2",he played two songs from" On The Boards",I went out and bought the two Taste albums the next day,he changed my life forever.I saw Rory 7 times with Taste and 6 times with RG band, the best gigs of my life!!!! 5*.
Your so luck to have seen this man play, Im sure you know that, I saw Rory only once but have'n been a fan for years before I knew exactly what I was looking at, same as you, best gig ever. ...7 times with Taste!!!!! Man!

Saw Rory live when I was 20 years old. Blew me away. His acoustic work live was incredible. The complete guitarist!
