Did you try to reduce or increase the size of the plate while keeping frequency constant. Do the images change for a given constant freq? I am guessing yes.

@annettedillon7 I imagine that using bass notes the patterns would be very crude. It's the higher frequencies that result in a higher complexicity. When we are on a higher frequency we receive more information. It would keep working moving out of hearing range but the energies become more subtle and less noticeable physically.

If anyone wants to know more about where these patterns come from, look up "partial differential equations." Study these and you can understand and predict the form of all sorts of beautiful natural phenomena. You can model all kinds of musical instruments (string, wind, etc), the electromagnetic waves coming off of a cellphone antenna, radio waves curving in the Earth's ionosphere, etc.
It's all applied math.

great experiment. This looks like standing waves or interference patterns that are caused by the sound frequency, but is also driven by the dimensions of the vibrating plate. Did you try to reduce or increase the size of the plate while keeping frequency constant. Do the images change for a given constant freq? I am guessing yes.

Amazing! That was a fantastic representation of frequency and the vibrational changes via sound. OF course, as we all know some sounds can not be detected by human ears .. but perhaps our cellular radio receiver could be much more perceptive. Hence sending the vibrational frequency of love outward it the very best thing we can do for humanity and SELF!
