Radwasnka should have won that point if she just really wanted to. This is why Radwanska will never win anything big in her entire career. She has very good court sense, good movement, tactical play, but she never had that killer instinct of the likes of Hingis, Serena and Sharapova.

I love the kind Radwanska plays tennis. She hasn´t the most powerful strokes but she is able to mix her game like nobody else. For me she is a top 5 player. I wish her best of luck for the rest of the season. At last I saw her by the tournament in Stuttgart where she reached the Semifinal.

Wow. Maria's actually quite fast around the court. Yeah, Agnieszka Radwandska is fond of dropshots but it's one of the things you don't wanna throw at Sharapova. If she's feeling good, she'll whoop it back with a reverse forehand and make the opposition pay real bad. Watch her at the 2008 Aussie Open. Drop shots don't work as well against Maria as most opponents may expect (due to her size).

Besides, Maria is capable of fantastic dropshots as well. Better than most players IMO.

Very much so. Her footwork has improved over the years. It massive improvement in that area is apparent that Maria can launches many of her attacks INSIDE the baseline and she comes to the net and T-section much more often. This way, she cuts opponent reaction time a lot and sends in ball very deep, often forcing her opponents to fight from the baseline. Good for drop shots and her trademark whip forehand which can go into the corners or sides really deep and quick + sidespin.

i'm just saying that if height negatively influences speed you wouldn't expect the fastest person alive to be 6'5. That being said, in tennis being fast (as in a high running speed) isn't nearly as important as being able to accelerate quick, and then weight is a more important factor than height. Sharapova may be tall but she weighs only like 130 lbs.

Well, yeah. That's the problem. She is as pretty as she is fragile. But you still can't take away the fact that when she's on fire, very few players can go toe-to-toe with her. In fact, only the elder stateswomen of the game can such as the Williams sisters, Henin, Clijsters, the now retired Mauresmo, Davenport, well, you know who. The fact of the matter is that Sharapova is the best of her generation and has a far better record than her fellow younger players.
