Seeing a really good musician in this setting with people talking over him and simple background makes me feel better about playing places where they ask us to turn down so people can talk. You have to take the gig for what it is, enjoy the music, and trust that it's reaching someone. A good lesson for all musicians.

@kadleckyle Look, I am one of DMB's biggest fans, but there is a difference between being the only guitarist and the lead guitarist. Dave is a rhythm guitar player, and does it better than anyone in my opinion, but he's not a lead/soloist. He's the first one to admit that, if you read any interviews. And he'd also be the first one to say that Tim is as big a part of that band as anyone. It was Tim that helped Dave get started writing. And he's been playing with them since the beginning.
and dave is possibly one of the very best acoustic guitarists alive today because he CAN play like that and sing at the same time.

This is a great song for him to really show is ability to take on the melody and also the counter melody (which in this case is heard in the bass notes)! For anyone unfamiliar with this, it takes a whole lot of coordination to pull this technique off!! Of course for those of you counting the mistakes, I heard 2-big deal...
yea counter melodies are pretty difficult, like in bouree in e minor(Bach), having two lines moving opposite ways is allways a nice challenge on guitar.

Tim plays with the band recently and in the 90's but is not part of the band.
