@tickyreal... John D. Loudermilk Wrote this, The EBs did not like to perform this SAD song, EB-friends forced them to sing it at their Comeback-Concerts in The London Albert Hall, in the 80ties, Letz Stay Devoted to Don & Phil Everly.....Erik Tielman, Floridadadaaa

If it weren't for beautiful songs such as this, and many others, at this time in my life, I would be very alone in a crowd. So pretty. Love the Everly Brothers.

CHICKENSKIN ALL OVER ..EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS SONG " Ebony Eyes" written by John D. Loudermilk, recorded in 1961 by The Everly Brothers (b/w "Walk Right Back"), and reached #8 on the US charts.
my grandmother said this was the saddest song she'd heard and i listened to it and sure, i found it real pretty but i was like "this ain't that sa-" but i never managed to finish because the moment the speaking started, i started bawling like a freaking cry baby. i love this song, soooo much <3
Wow!! It must be at least 45 years since I've heard this song. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to you for posting this hauntingly beautiful song.
This was my bedtime song for years as a child - I can still see my Dad leaning on the door frame singing to me.... even more special now as he passed away almost 6 months ago.
The only night I sang this song in an( Everly--Cover) duo ,in 2 1hr appearances,I was asked 3! times for our group to repeat the song--by several 6ft 12inch "rocker"types--for their "Missus"--"And I'll buy you a pint"they said.Because of their size we concurred! I got our "Roadie"to roll a flashlight across the ceiling -(lights dimmed) when I spoke the words---"The plane was way overdue" and there was'many a tear in a ladies eye! .Beautiful song.
thank you all once again for the support nice info you all share your memories its awesome thanks thanks i got to say it was the first video i made and posted on here and you all inspire me to post more if i cant find the original . thanks thanks thanks
Good original, shows the rubbish copiers of this song up, trying to cash in on the two guys I met in Derby (England) in the early 60s, topping the bill, with the Rolling Stones at the bottom of the list!. Thanks for uploading.
Great post of the original - written by John D. Loudermilk. The Everlys did not sing this as part of their stage act until their Reunion concert in 1983, as part of what they called the "Deadly Medlley" - "Devoted To You," "Ebony Eyes" and "Love Hurts." Thank you for a terrific upload!
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS GEM BY THE EVERLY BROTHERS

Thanks for posting. Most probably can't identify with waiting for your wife for nearly a year to arrive in SE Asia during the VN war and then when checking the passenger list and going through over 200 passengers, finding she was the last one on the list. Ahhhh. sweet memory. :)))))
thanks so much for posting this, cos lot of people doing covers and using the Everly's photo and it's very misleading and hard to find the original. It's great to hear the original angelic harmonies of Phil and Don, thanks again :))
