  • The only night I sang this song in an( Everly--Cover) duo ,in 2 1hr appearances,I was asked 3! times for our group to repeat the song--by several 6ft 12inch "rocker"types--for their "Missus"--"And I'll buy you a pint"they said.Because of their size we concurred! I got our "Roadie"to roll a flashlight across the ceiling -(lights dimmed) when I spoke the words---"The plane was way overdue" and there was'many a tear in a ladies eye! .Beautiful song.

  • Good original, shows the rubbish copiers of this song up, trying to cash in on the two guys I met in Derby (England) in the early 60s, topping the bill, with the Rolling Stones at the bottom of the list!. Thanks for uploading.

  • Great post of the original - written by John D. Loudermilk. The Everlys did not sing this as part of their stage act until their Reunion concert in 1983, as part of what they called the "Deadly Medlley" - "Devoted To You," "Ebony Eyes" and "Love Hurts." Thank you for a terrific upload!

  • Thanks for posting. Most probably can't identify with waiting for your wife for nearly a year to arrive in SE Asia during the VN war and then when checking the passenger list and going through over 200 passengers, finding she was the last one on the list. Ahhhh. sweet memory. :)))))
