Trust me when I say that this guy definitely does not suck. Prior to injuries he was a leader for the National Team and stalwart on at Outside Mid. Put in over fifteen years in the MLS and his shot would move a portable goal from forty yards if he hit the frame at the age of seventeen. Still serviceable (yes only that) after multiple joint repairs that end a lot of individuals HIGH SCHOOL careers. Good luck to him as a professional coach now.

@Vince9865 make sure you line up your non shooting foot with the direction you want the ball to go with your toes a little bit past the the ball. Your shooting foot is going through the ball, it doesn't stop when the ball hits your foot. I don't actually recommend putting your chest over the ball because you tend to tend to be a little bit less accurate. Essentially, make sure you don't hit the ball with your toes or laces. Start practicing shots with the inside of your foot.
@Vince9865 for a hard shot you should use youre instep, for a curled shot you should use the inside of youre foot and lean back to get it up in the air, and just to place the ball right into the net you should use youre inside of the foot :D
It's a great sport, but what was the name of that game the native americans played, with the sideways hoop on the wall, and they could only use their hips, now that's a great damn sport! I heard they sacrifice the winner to the gods or something :)

Chris Klien doesn't strike the ball right. He strikes it with 4 inches (foot width) versus 8 inches (length of your foot). Only a few players can hit the ball pure coming straight at it (C. Ronaldo for example). Your planted foot should be further away so you can get the length of your foot through the ball. It's like chipping the ball - only difference is you strike the ball higher on the ball if you want the ball to stay low. That's why he couldn't get half his shots on target from the 18

awful video he has almost no talent and no class. as a 13 year old i can consistently hit the target from 25-30 metres something he cant do. also videos like this are pointless because there ar numerous ways to hit the ball. such with either your laces or inside foot or various spots in between also lnading on your striking foot is not actually that common and players such as kaka, lampard,ronaldinho and zidane all didnt and dont land on their shooting foot however roberto carlos 4 example does.
many american teams are forced to play in football stadiums and those ones are shorter than fifa standards.. any of the soccer specific stadiums in the U.S. are just as big as those in europe

yeah, the american fields are generally 100 yards, especially high-school fields because the soccer field is the footballfield mainly, at my schools field we just got a new stadium with sport-turf and they have the american football markings, along with the soccer markings, except there is yellow lines on the edges that mark the bounds for soccer(they extend past the football bounds) but the soccer field is still just as long as the football field, they are one and the same, lol

many american teams are forced to play in football stadiums and those ones are shorter than fifa standards.. any of the soccer specific stadiums in the U.S. are just as big as those in europe

Yes the European fields are bigger because they are 130 yards long. Americans are 100 or 120.

yeah, the american fields are generally 100 yards, especially high-school fields because the soccer field is the footballfield mainly, at my schools field we just got a new stadium with sport-turf and they have the american football markings, along with the soccer markings, except there is yellow lines on the edges that mark the bounds for soccer(they extend past the football bounds) but the soccer field is still just as long as the football field, they are one and the same, lol

You want your chest slightly over the ball so that it doesn't go high. If you noticed when you shoot and lean backwards the ball goes high.

honestly you don't have to be the best at something to show someone how to do something. so long as you know how to explain what it is you're teaching good enough than that person should be able to develop good enough. with that being said everyone saying that he sucks misses the entire point of the video.
