First Lady Pat Nixon welcomes pandas to the National Zoo

I wish they put an aquarium at the National Zoo. If I wanted to see dolphins I need to go to Baltimore at the National Aquarium

Although she shyed away from the lime light, Pat Nixon deserves much more credit then she was given during her time as First Lady. History is starting to judge her in a much better light as we have learned how much she contributed to the nation in her own right. I will always remember her as a Beautiful woman, both inside and out.

Life could not have been that easy for her. Such a shy woman thrust into the limelight, ever supportive of her husband, even if she probably had her own doubts about some of the things he did. I think she must have been a very decent woman at heart. In those times, women really were appendages to men. I am sure Nixon was terrified that Pat would dare to tell the truth. What an embarrassment that would be to him -- in his twisted mind. Rest in peace, gentle spirit.
