I cut and paste two duplicates. This is all covered in the posts for the competition. A genuine error, I was just trying to get the results out as soon as possible. In hindsight I should have waited and checked before publishing. Will get that right for the next competition which is in planning.
Did you look at the list? I do believe that Jack was in the top 45 - check the link in the vid description and you'll see him listed in Laurie's top 45. He was always in my top 45 and 15. Jack is an amazing talent and we all recognise him as such.

it always amazes me how the guitar can be played in so many different ways. Six strings, bunch of frets and infinity inbetween! I think Keef said that.

And thanks to all for your support i was blown away by all the views and ratings i have received while recovering form surgery.You know i got into the music industry at a young age and did all the things a guitarist wants out of life.I walked away from it all in 1997 .lol! People didnt understand!But this contest made me feel like a kid again and reminds me why i fell in love with playing in the first place, Thanks Guys!!!

Hi Kara, it is in. I've been doing some research on youtube responses and this might fix the problem. Your video can only be a response to one video. So to repost you need to "Post the same video as a response to one of your own videos, and then
refuse to accept it. That will cancel the current one." Then you can add as a response again.
It will be as soon as possible after the closing date. Hopefully not too long... if it takes longer you'll see posts from me on my blog. I estimate 6 hours of video to watch... glad I checked it all on the way... but short listing with all these incredible entries is going to be super hard... I just know were going to upset some people... I have come up with some additional special prizes and if you don't make it... there will be another competition... so please no death threats ;)

To be honest i am with a record label scouting after my nephew had told me of this so i just joined to take a look, i havent played in years but i am a berkley graduate but focus on looking for musicians to fill spots ,put bands together,ect. I was just taking a look out of intrest you never know what you may find or who maybe watching!I have contacted a entry person but was not intrested due to him being a hired gun in the past.I did find a guitarist from Germany which is not in your forum.
I'm getting some feedback that some people would like a slight extension to the close date... what do people here think about that. My view is probably not, but if there was significant groundswell I might be swayed to extend it a couple of days.
Just again i dont want to offend the players they are all good and i have enjoyed a few and i wish everyone the best! I just think there seems to be the lack of an innovator guitar hero type?I hear and see the same licks that are copied over and over.I hope this also helps guitarist to take a look at his or her playing and say hey, its not about how much technic,its about sound and what i choose to play note wise that will make me have my own style so i may progress past the others?
I think with a more straightforward backing track, we may have attracted some more "guitar heroics", I think Rick, Tom and Myself were looking for people with extended improvisational techniques. I'm proud of those who entered and I think we got some great music.
I must say i was a little dis apponted at some entries it said shred this but alot of guitarist sounded the same to me musically a few were different like thaigo the guy with the fret less jittboy to name a few but over all disappointed to see alot of guitarist are not as creative anymore?they are all great players in respect but well i dont know?
I think that might be because they have to jam over the same backing track, plus you might get influenced by what's gone before. So often times people are picking up that key melody for example. That said there are some monster players here giving it all they have and that's all I can ask.
This is going to be impossible! How on EARTH can we pick a winner? You guys are too good. You're all disqualified for being TOO good and making the judges lives very difficult.
There is still a couple of options open Tom... post your own video that blows away the competition or I delete the video and we pretend it never happened ;)

I would like to say something about the ratings war also.This isnt about winning its about sharing with guitarist and having fun!Its like trying to say holdsworth is better than gambale! We can all learn a little from each other and i have learned some of my best ideas from watching students.You can learn from everyone, and enjoy others musical efforts.Begining or advanced.The only time it should be personal is when you sign a contract with a major label! Besides shred junior is guitar God so?

I sincerely think that this is one of the best gutar competitions that ever happened on youtube. Awesome backing track and awesome players, everyone here is a winner just by taking the time to work on an entry for the contest. I know my entry is not the most remarkable but to be honest ; Participating is just as good as a victory!
I'm here for guitar don't get me wrong, but someones out to get me, my ratings have come down for the second time, like laurie said its been done to death.
I don't mind what you rate my vids as long as its fair and your opinion , I thank those who like it and some that don't I can live with that, but to bombard my entry so it goes from 5 to 3 stars its a bit pathetic really.

Hi Kara, it is in. I've been doing some research on youtube responses and this might fix the problem. Your video can only be a response to one video. So to repost you need to "Post the same video as a response to one of your own videos, and then
refuse to accept it. That will cancel the current one." Then you can add as a response again.

It will be as soon as possible after the closing date. Hopefully not too long... if it takes longer you'll see posts from me on my blog. I estimate 6 hours of video to watch... glad I checked it all on the way... but short listing with all these incredible entries is going to be super hard... I just know were going to upset some people... I have come up with some additional special prizes and if you don't make it... there will be another competition... so please no death threats ;)

To be honest i am with a record label scouting after my nephew had told me of this so i just joined to take a look, i havent played in years but i am a berkley graduate but focus on looking for musicians to fill spots ,put bands together,ect. I was just taking a look out of intrest you never know what you may find or who maybe watching!I have contacted a entry person but was not intrested due to him being a hired gun in the past.I did find a guitarist from Germany which is not in your forum.

Just again i dont want to offend the players they are all good and i have enjoyed a few and i wish everyone the best! I just think there seems to be the lack of an innovator guitar hero type?I hear and see the same licks that are copied over and over.I hope this also helps guitarist to take a look at his or her playing and say hey, its not about how much technic,its about sound and what i choose to play note wise that will make me have my own style so i may progress past the others?

I think with a more straightforward backing track, we may have attracted some more "guitar heroics", I think Rick, Tom and Myself were looking for people with extended improvisational techniques. I'm proud of those who entered and I think we got some great music.

I must say i was a little dis apponted at some entries it said shred this but alot of guitarist sounded the same to me musically a few were different like thaigo the guy with the fret less jittboy to name a few but over all disappointed to see alot of guitarist are not as creative anymore?they are all great players in respect but well i dont know?

I think that might be because they have to jam over the same backing track, plus you might get influenced by what's gone before. So often times people are picking up that key melody for example. That said there are some monster players here giving it all they have and that's all I can ask.

I would like to say something about the ratings war also.This isnt about winning its about sharing with guitarist and having fun!Its like trying to say holdsworth is better than gambale! We can all learn a little from each other and i have learned some of my best ideas from watching students.You can learn from everyone, and enjoy others musical efforts.Begining or advanced.The only time it should be personal is when you sign a contract with a major label! Besides shred junior is guitar God so?

I sincerely think that this is one of the best gutar competitions that ever happened on youtube. Awesome backing track and awesome players, everyone here is a winner just by taking the time to work on an entry for the contest. I know my entry is not the most remarkable but to be honest ; Participating is just as good as a victory!

I'm here for guitar don't get me wrong, but someones out to get me, my ratings have come down for the second time, like laurie said its been done to death.
I don't mind what you rate my vids as long as its fair and your opinion , I thank those who like it and some that don't I can live with that, but to bombard my entry so it goes from 5 to 3 stars its a bit pathetic really.
Isn't it about sharing our playing not just being wankers who have something against another player.

Ok man you have a fair point , I know there are many better than me in this competition, and like I said I can live with people not liking my playing .
But it looks pretty suspect when your vid is 5 star 3 weeks running and then 3 star over night.
I don't expect you all to like my playing but when it gos like that so dramatically on all my vids theres something fishy going down.

mentallyreality, There have been many people complaining of low ratings. It happens a lot in these shred contests no matter who runs them. Others have agreed that the rating was too low in this case.

I think we should draw a line under the whole episode and get on to the real working watching 130+ videos and picking a winner!

One of the judges said before (really funny how you oversee him): We'll not be looking at the view count or ratings when we are judging.
You know what that means right? you can rate as much as you like anyone (each one with his own criteria) and the competitor will be treated equally. Period.
Stop doing this now stringblender, cause you only ruining this video (unless thats what you wanna do..)!
