  • Awesomeee cover!! I want a Rickenbacker so badd so I can get that nice, dark, rock & roll tone.

  • Funny how when George plays a solo (which is most of the time) They show it on camera at a live concert. But JOHN doing a solo is censored like curse words in a kids movie. Why is it that there is only one video of John doing the solo

  • @Calvingreen17 Before the shows he told the camera man not to record him during his solo. Reason why is that he was afraid he would screw up and he was self conscious about his guitar playing.

  • @Roystothecoolkid That's sad. He really played it nicely

  • Wow - I never realised that he was so shy about his solo's!

  • Thats the most beautiful guitar ive ever seen

  • You will have to search around - ebay is probably your best bet.

you can easily by the 325 C64 - probably a better guitar in my opinion!!

  • can some one please leave some advice on where i could go and buy one and how much this guitar goes for averagely (cost)

  • Nice work with GB.

  • Probably but I think there are plenty of 325's available still (used perhaps but usually good nick)

  • would you sell

  • dont mind the haters, probally jealous cause they cant play at all. good job!

  • @desdinova22

Thanks mate, the world is full of haters - I'm with the lovers : )

  • you look lame trying to do johns strum

  • Dragon Fly - thanks for the playing advice. A lesson would be equally appreciated. Lennon had a unique style - hard to imitate.

Stevenruebke, less insults to our Aussie friend please. Despite her colourful language. it's quite common for people to use strong words in everyday situations.

For the benefit of the kids who view youtube, I will remove this and all vid's if I see any language or comments intended to offend anyone. Colour, creed, sex etc don't need to be discussed here!

  • lame ive never seen anyone pull off lennons solo right why bother putting the fucking thing on spew tube if its wrong

  • @dragonwing1952

Don't worry about comments from Australian's, they have no decent muscians and they are mostly GAY. Probably, Dragonwing1952 is a 58 year old wanna be who never made it in anything, he probably has a gay Goatee and lives with his fag partner who is Asian and lives in Darlinghurst or Paddington or another fag area.

Tokyo997 - respect from Germany to anyone in their 30's who drives an Aston Martin AND a Porsche (hence the 997 I guess) and has such an awesome guitar collection.

  • @stephenruebke - so wrong on so many counts:) I'm female, straight and live in Victoria. Wonderful generalisation about Australians though - have you met them all?

  • IS AT A WAAA-HAMMY BAR ON THAT SUCKER? RICKS ARE SOOO SUE-WHEAT!

  • @HEARTHEANGELSVOICES

That is indeed - not very good but it's there!

  • @Tokyo997 how is the whammy bar not good?

  • @StratBanez101 The Kaufman Vibrola Whammy is terrible, Even think about using it and you need to retune the guitar.. Many people replace it for the Bigsby b5

  • @ABBABeatle oh i see weel thanks for the info how bout the other bridge that the whammy bar looks like a rats tail..

  • @StratBanez101 Im not quite sure i understand, the Bibsby unit that people add to these guitars is the Unit with the "rats tail" whammy

  • @ABBABeatle well its the one that comes with the 325 c64 but thankks anyway

  • @jcjsjpgr that is a total lie...

  • Sounds sick :)

  • Good job man! That 325 is awesome, keep playing!

  • @JohnLennon9091

    Thanks mate! Will do!

  • Sounds crap.

  • @BROOKS39

Feel free to show me how its done : )

  • WHY is that gitter so EXPENSIVE???

there´s a real hype going on with LENNON stuff rite now, wait til they cool down..

  • @MacLenHarStar Because

    1.) it's discountinued

2.) It has an amazing sound

    3.) It looks awesome

    4.) John Lennon used it

    5.) It's a RICKENBACKER

  • Comment removed

  • This model of 325 was originally made with alder. I don´t know why Rickenbacker reproduced this model using maple

  • @jcjsjpgr WRONG!!!!!

  • The solo was definitely on a 6 string. He did it that way live, too.

  • Wow this is really good. I've only just started guitar and that Rick is my dream guitar when I get better. So right now I'm stuck on acoustic. Keep up the good work!

  • @jcjsjpgr

Really, I always thought it was the 6 string - sounds like a 6 string to me - but I am half deaf from playing way too loud : )

  • @Tokyo997 It was a 6 string. Lennon used his Rickenbacker 325 through the entire song. It was George Harrison that played a Rickenbacker "Fire-glo" 360-12, not John.

  • how many 325's do you have

  • @synchrobakugan

I only have one 325, one 350/12 and one 360 - I have a few other guitars though (about 12)

  • @Tokyo997 how much did you get that ric for?

  • Comment removed

  • Sounded Great! My band is doing this song for a gig a few weeks from now.. You've definitely got the feel for it and the Rickenbaker takes the cake!! Time for the zipper boots and black ties mate!! LOL!

  • @rcflybry LOL - I will have to work hard to justify pointy black boots to the mrs!

  • Great job, on a great song.....one that is always excellent when served with plenty of cowbell!

  • @fenderstratguy

You can never have too much cowbell!

  • I thought I commented long before now, but I'd like to say thank you for the demo. This is one of the great Beatle songs that is seldom recognized as such (imo). It is the epitome of their (and I don't exactly know how to describe it but call it) "slouchy rock" style. The music is not slouchy in a negative connotation. It has to do with the sliding of chords and the manner of way they strummed their guitars. It is as if someone is merely walking down the street with confident nonchalance.

  • @hermanzoon

Thanks for the comment, it's a great song! I love the feel on that album!

  • Nearly there.

    Keep at it brother!

  • @StigOHarrison

    Thanks mate! Will do!

  • @325v64

Thanks for the comment, I have no idea about the wiring. I had it changed recently to what the original 325 was like - still not used to it but the guitar sound WILD! Way louder and much more versatile!

  • Bravo! I'd like to see more clarity on the solo in the future. I have a 325v59 Mapleglo and still have problems distinguishing the control knobs. Looking down at it (as playing) the front 2 are for the rhythm and middle pick-up, the bottom the volume the top tone? The rear 2, bottom is volume and top is tone for the bridge pick-up? The pick-up switch, up, is middle and neck pick-up. Switch middle all 3 PUs. Down, bridge PU? I purchased it used, I don't believe the wiring was fussed with. Thanks.

  • such a beautiful guitar

  • SING!

  • Well, do give it some thought - I'm interested in getting one off someone in the northern hemisphere sometime. They go way cheaper in the US and in Japan than I'm able to find down here...

  • Id pay 5 grand for it if I was lawer or stockbroker..its well worth it..by the way good sound, I just like looking at the guitar

  • I saw one of these in a guitar shop today - I cannot believe how bloody tiny the thing is!!!

The real kicker - they want $5000 for it. You are not imagining things. What can I say - Australia is not the place to live if you want to buy a guitar for what it's actually worth...

  • @Zebonka

You're not kidding. Thats's a lot of cash!

  • You're telling me!

It really hit home just how absurd it was when I saw the guitar in person. I knew these things were supposed to be small but - WOW! Midget guitar. I desperately want one now, but I'll be finding one a bit ... cheaper ...

  • @Zebonka

I am moving to Australia - if you want one I can bring it over and it will cost about AUD 3200 - plus delivery if you are not in Sydney

  • That depends on how long you can hold onto it - hehe, I have a year and a half of college fees to take care of I'm afraid. Are you in a hurry to get rid of it?

  • good job !!!

  • Great playing! How about paint it black, put on a Bigsby, change the knobs and bridge? If you want to make the guitar look more like John's? ((I know John's was that finish at first)) :)

  • @viceisthename

I think I want to get the C64 as well...I just bought an another guitar three weeks ago - a Custom Shop Gibson ES 335 - not allowed another one for a while!

  • @Tokyo997 Okay, :)

  • That has to be the most beautiful looking guitar there is!

  • @ronnieneo

I love Rickenbackers and would love to get a load more! But alas, storage space and money get in the way of that!

  • Were u get the guitar

  • dude that guitar is baller

  • @sorenjus

It is soo good I want a black one too!

  • @Tokyo997 same here

  • Comment removed

  • Hello. Maybe was asked before , what strings do you use?

  • @MadestBob

The Ricky 325 has Pyramid's, the 350/12 Ricky strings and the 360 I play also has Ricky strings

  • Where did you buy your guitar?

  • I got the guitar from Guitar Center in LA - I got the Ricky 350./12 from Sam Ash in LA in December - much nicer people - Scotty V - he's the man to buy from

  • thanks! im going to us soon!

  • Cool - I will next month too and I am planning on picking up a Casino!

  • Yeah, That guitar looks cool too. Anyway thanks for everything!

  • your actually very bouncy, like paul! haha

great job tho mate, you didnt just play the chords, you had that junky-chunk rythym to it like john did. i just bought a 1988 Rick 320, so ill be doing a cover soon, be sure to check it out! :D thanks again

  • Ha ha - I used to play in a glam rock band at one stage - I was a lot bouncier back then!

  • she's beautiful

  • I have the 350v63 i know you have the 12 string, but do they play much the same or totally diff and if so which do you think is the better (if thats the right word).

  • I have played the 350 but not the V63 - only the regular 350 with 24 frets. I doubt there is much difference between the 6 and 12 string however, the 6 is probably a lot more usable. I once played Susanna Hoffs actual 350 - it was quite cool - it had a ricky humbucker at the back and really rocked! If I was to get a 350 I would probably do the same BUT, for the 350 V63 - leave it as it is.

Mate, you must post us a vid of the 6 stringer!

  • You joke lol, when i see you playing I look at my guitars and think "maybe I should try the drums" haha but only took up the guitar a yr ago, I bought what i thought were quality guitars the 350v63 liverpool and I also have a maton, and the epiphone casino (revolution) lot of guitar for a novice. I see people get ripped to bits here by good guitarists and i would be a target lol. Iam quite happy watching people like you play and then try to emulate them. :)) So "Dont let me down" lol Steve

  • Wow, you have a nice collection - I was thinking of getting the Epiphone but went for the Ricky. I couldn't carry two guitars and two suitcases back from LA by myself otherwise I would have got the Epi as well.

Stick to the guitar - forget about drums - too difficult to lug around!

  • Hello from NZ, outstanding mate, couple of questions, can you still buy your type of guitar (325/58) I think?. And do you do any lessons etc I was really impressed cant wait to see the others iam subscribing as we speak, enjoy blighty happy new yr to you. Steve

  • Mate, you are too kind - I will do more soon! Blighty is cold and wet - should have bought my guitar over!

  • @fke119l

I think the 325 C58 is no longer made! Get one while you can - there are still a few new ones out there!

  • you CAN do that, my friend!

  • Thank you for the nice comments guys! I have already prepared 6 other songs - will do them next month! I am off to the UK tomorrow for three weeks!

  • @Tokyo997 it is awesome you do these vids to share awesome gear for those who haven't got it yet!!! enjoy the UK, it shoud be an amazing time

  • Thanks mate. I will upload If I Needed Someone, Nowhere Man, If I Fell and a few others next month!

  • good!

  • this was great! keep them coming ;)

  • Nice work! 5 stars!

  • learned it on beatles to a tee the user jayethee post some videos and please make a cover of ask me why or twist and shout complete please

  • Sorry about the solo! I was planning on doing it properly but with the heat of the moment, I just got carried away!

Also the last verse is played a bit wrong, but it will do. Incidentally, I have at least 10 to 12 versions of the Beatles playing that song live, John's parts are always a bit different. Which makes it more interesting!!
