Trivia: Alex's sudden death (after which he tells the game's three protagonists to save the King and Princess from Death Adder and his minions) as gameplay begins is meant to be a joke on the fact that the popularity of Sega's then-mascot, Alex Kidd, was fading away and would be replaced by Sonic the Hedgehog.

@Maplesyrup41 That was the Genesis version, this Arcade version ends after Death Adder, the Genesis version expanded the story with 2 more levels, most likely because of lower graphics and sound quality.

I didn't like the sega version that much, but I loved the arcade version. Gaming heaven right here on you tube! This reminds me of when I was a kid watching some dude whoop butt on an action packed arcade game.
