Yeah I thought it was bad for artists to sample like that but it was a New York/hip-hop thing to sample back in '89 and I think the Beastie Boys used it well and turned it into something new. For me being about 13 and hearing Beastie Boys Car Thief, this track by Funk Factory would have otherwise been inaccessable to me. Thanks to the Beastie Boys and their sampling I've discovered so much beautiful music. The Beastie always seem to sample music lovers music. Not too pop and from a broad range.

Cool. Was just wondering it was released or if it was well known back then. Would you reccomend any any tracks like this? Recently I've been listening to some Funk/Fusion myself but because there's a Fusion radio station in GTA IV called Fusion FM. David Axelrod and David McCallum - "The Edge and Funk in the Hole" by Gong are some of the tracks on it.
