Sorry wasn't too impressive. This is old fashion and you may get cut in a real situation severely. So try to go beyond and forget the Palisut? Yes I know this is only the drilling but it easily leads to wrong habbits...believe me been there too and always had this little doubt on my mind and then my sifu proved this too ;)
@sifuristo the all point of this video is to show some of the classical FMA material. To be honest I think it would be better to post your videos and then talk rather than do the other way round. You seem a nice enough guy but you also sound very junior. Regards A.F.
@NuddaAF73 Thanks for posting this. Knife attacks come in many flavors, and you have to study a lot of systems and train hard for a long time to learn a good defense against them, and even then, you only have a chance, no guarantee whatsoever. Especially instructive are the failed defenses, where the defender gets cut because the assailant does something unexpected. I love all the NUDDA stuff I've seen, you guys are great. Keep it up.
@carnivalwrestler Towards the end of the video I show what happened when you try a disarm on an experienced knife fighter. But to limit your development to "what works" without developing attributes like flow, energy and reaction skills is just not a clever approach to training. Filipino Knife fighting it's a broad church and I am glad people appreciate the little I showed in this clip. Than ks for your kind words, A.F.
Here more information: When you learn the filipino arts (Escrima Kali Arnis is not only fighting thrue sticks but also can branch out to yan-Yan kickboxing / Knife fighting and Filipino Kenpo. The movements are all originated from sticks. That is also what separates Muay Thai from Yaw-Yan filipino kickboxing.
