  • It's rather like before FCP you only heard that the "serious" companies only used Avid. Things like Glidecam do help level the playing field for us on the fringes. Though the learning curve is probably steeper ( I've never used a stedicam) the results can be just as good if you take the time to master it. I don't care if my gears not as pretty, it's the results that matter to me.

  • check out the NEW CAMERA MOUNT CLAMP

  • what´s the song??

  • 42 people are jealous of this awesome fucking set up!

  • @letsgetfinding anywhere from $250 to $5000+

  • I want to have this!

  • You brutha how dis thang cost?

  • filmed in Ky i see ;)

  • Can anyone tell me much are these worth?

  • @letsgetfinding about 3 to $4000

  • dam G...I use to shoot on the camera back in high school. Before that we used the suitcase camera...you know, the 2 person camera. one had the case and the other had the camera...old school. Then our school got funding and we got DVCAMS...wish we had a Glidecam!

  • Battle Armor

  • lol, you've discovered steadycam now ? :))))

  • hello,

    what´s the song?

    thank you

  • '

    wow i want this glidecam,,,

this video was a old VHS videocamera and heavy weight,,,

now is a new digitalcamera / HDD videocamera and light weight

  • @bestamerica YEHHH i think him know that uppppp...

  • it must be very expensive

  • @liupeng0857 not that expensive.

  • dude ur a fuckin pro! i someday wish i get all this equipment you got..niceeeeeee!

  • how much does a glide thing cost ? nice vid :D

  • In the 90's they needed an Arnold in front of the camera and another Arnold behind.

  • I have to agree with the "formaset".. I looked extensively at the GlideCam a few years back but since bought into SteadiCam. I use the SC Pilot with a 5.8 LCD and IDX Enduras, (Cheaper than the Archer), and the quality is far beyond all the copycat makes.. But more importantly so is the end result! I have not noticed any serious op or film company use anything else but SteadiCam.

If you are serious about buying a stabilization unit, I strongly advise you try both before you buy.. you'll see!

  • @Jay1967 @Jay1967 i so wish i could try before i buy...Nashville, TN has not a one place to do such a thing...i think i am one of a scant few to own my own steadicam and glidecam...JR and pro2000 respectively...

  • After I bought a STEADICAM brand, I will NEVER go back to a GLIDECAM! There is no comparison. I have and own a Steadicam Archer, rent a Steadicam Ultra II

  • @formaset ...but for a filmmaker with no or little budget...is the GLIDECAM practical? Thanks in advance for your response.

  • dam 12 years old... and really useful

  • panasonic?

  • How do you balance the cam on that stage? I rented an HD4000, for a high school graduation. It was very difficult to balance, if not near impossible. So I didn't use it.

  • NIce your camera is huge :D and look at that amount of balancing weights needs to be on the rig. I never know that Glidecam has been there for that long

  • Is he going to war?? (0.14)

    No! He's filming! (0.47)

    Love it!

  • Nice footage! Would look better if you had more wide angle shots.

I'm using the Glidecam 4000. It's a great piece of equipment as long as it's balanced well initially.

  • Not bad, but two years old. I'm guessing you have newer, more superior footage?

You need some widescreen shots, superior lighting (like magic hour). Some of the shots here are vignetted.

Good montage though. I like the set-up, the union affiliation, and the music matched.

  • 12 year old..

  • what camera is that

  • Nice! Type in - The Day New Orleans Stood Still - in the youtube search for more glidecam shots

  • how much this glidecam??? you know a pageweb where i can buy this more chip

  • What soundtrack is this? I like!

  • yes i want this one but too heavy and too much loads / locks

  • hilarous! love it

  • Nice to see someone on youtube who knows how to balance this freakin' thing. I had a DP on my last shoot who sucked at balancing it and my shot had to be thrown out. Thankfully we took a safety with a track dolly.

  • where you from?

  • lexington KY, well at least i know that thats were this was shot

  • Hy

    Nice first try.

Keep your focus on your main object and pay attention on the horizon.

And try to attend no to get the black corner.

    Stay smooth

  • good rig...good vid! you got the big joint too...
