  • Noooooo it just enlarges it!!

  • So it displays a hologram of whatever is displayed on the screen?

  • i love it. haha. mo one thinks this is as good as iphone, chuckle chuckle. iphone is gonna owned niggas! they were a fun toy for a while but if you are seriosly a fan of the iphone then thats great but you obviously dont wanna have full function of a phone and be able to manipulat and molest it. haha. iphone user can suck steve jobs dick a whole lot more because they obviously like to be told what to do and don have an opinion of there own. niiiiice. lol

  • I just love how what's on the phone actually pops out above the phone. What a sick feature. :)

  • @EmilianaBaker You do now that's for enlarging the pic and not a feature

  • Hey Anna, can you find direction to my dick on your win 7 phone?

  • i am not a fan of anything. but fuck Apple's product. as an engineer :) fuck Apple's product. LOL I would get either WP7 or Android. FUCK Apple.

  • Hey Steve ballmer - how is the Kin doing?

Have you found a way to minimize the carbon footprint since you are now going to have to find a landfill big enough to bury all the crappy MS mobile products?

  • bye bye iphone4 can't wait when windows phone 7 comes out and also not even close to looks of iphone4. So Iphone4 have you gotten he fix on your attenna yet LOL...That what you get for getting a junk iphone4

  • and i thought apple would be the first to make a holographic screen in a phone

  • is she ms anna

  • I like it

  • Does anybody know what the great song is, and who performs it?

  • lol, nothing new, thanks for nothing again, MS..

  • i would do anna

  • So basically it can do what other smart phones can.....

  • what a stupid and dumbing down commercial! most people that are on the phone, player, or net dont really have a social life, thay are just texting or talking and useless virtual garbage with who ever they can find! as in this ad the kid is rather sitting by him self and playing with his phone insteda of playing with other kids etc. So sick...

  • @drazenmm well Face it and Embrace it its life in this modern day! Its not 1970 anymore! Its not true to say they dont have a life, the fact is they are full of life its just that now digital devices are a part of life. Its a means of comunication where as in say 1970 there was other option but to go to call ur friend on the phone or go to their house and you could not meet anyone from another country!

Please Wake Up get out of the Dark Ages!

While you say this your on here posting!

  • will you people just stop holding your dumb mouth constantly open and swallow everything that's forced down your throats??????????????? i understand some, buts its an OBSESSION! its going trough the roof! instead if being on the phone for a few minuts with your local friend, bf, gf family etc. i see people in public transport just talking, talking, talking.. finishes with one person goes on the others, talks with one phone sms-es on the other while talking, its just sickness!

  • @drazenmm kids that age aren't really the target demographic. "Life Maximizers" are on average 38yrs old, 76% employed, and 73% in a partnered relationship.

Check out Joe Belfiore's Introduction to WP7 at MIX2010. He discusses Anna and Miles, who are personas created for the design process.

  • @hunrahel i personally think that you and your "statistics" are democratic, western and capitalistic bullshit ^_^ turn around and see how many kids at age 10 to 15 have phones, ipods and other personal electronic device, and tell me if that's healthy and normal. Lets not go in discussion how much do they interact with them and with the really people around them...

  • Comment removed

  • @drazenmm *I*? and *My* statistics? They have nothing to do with me. It's microsoft's target demographic. (did you watch the video?)

As for mobile proliferation, speaking as a human, it is troubling, but as a dev, I can't complain because it'll be paying the bills for me.

  • Nice!

  • It looks pretty nice. I've been told it's similar to the Zune's interface, which is pretty nice. There's already a lot of smartphones out there though.. do I want this one.. or the Nexus.. or the iPhone, or the Droid.. or.. the list goes on. They'll have competition.

  • Way too camp.

  • HAHA,WONDERFUL

  • Video is kinda cool, but the comments are effing hilarious hahah

  • video is shit

  • Why so serious?

but seriously; barraging? I don't think that word means what you think it means.

  • @comradevodka MULTI-TASKING will be implemented before the product is released to manufacturing.

  • @thedivinedecree

Maybe that'll happen but from what I heard it isn't true multitasking. It's "pause n' resume" for most apps. MS is really "hands on" in this release (not like WinMo), so they'll decide. It's not really up to the 3rd party programmers anymore :(

  • @comradevodka In addition to your genius, why did they need to get directions to their hometown movie theater? Who doesn't know where stuff is around the corner from their house?

  • This is what the world has come to. A kid sitting on the soccer ball instead of playing with it. Inactivity is a sure a human killer. It will get to the point like in the surrogates movie where were literally hooked up to effing computers.

  • If it runs as well as the Windows OP System on my laptop and workplace desktop, my friends wouldn't be hearing from me all that often...let Windows have the cell phone OP market and it will sure shut up a lot of the chatter going on in the country! :-)

  • 0:15 kid is really frustrated on how to use the damn thing with out copy paste.

  • No cut and paste functionality no multitasking no sale.GTFOH

  • does the phone come with an anna? is so, i want one

  • i hate when a touch screen phone comes out and fanboys just yell "OMG THEY';RE COPYING APPLES IPHONE" and then return to sucking steve job's dick. The apple iphone is only so succesful because of the app support, other then that it isnt that amazing of a phone. A blackberry can do pretty much everything an iphone can and same with most smart phones. Now microsoft is making a phone OS not their own phone, they've been in this buisness for a while now so apple fanboys stfu

  • @RnB12 amen to that!

  • @RnB12 There you go.

Not like Apple actually creates their own hardware, maybe the overall design is their's but everything else is made by such huge manufacturers as Asus, Samsung, Intel, Ati, and the list goes on.

  • I heard they're already experiencing green screen of death.

  • lol i thought it was a hologram phone first :D

  • @vedranv

    open beer bootles.

  • So What, I Got 4 Of Those Phones Just Sitting Here Gathering Dust, LoL Jk, I Wish I Had Half Of That Phone

  • Miles Got an HD2 running WP7S at 0.44 ??????

  • I want a phone based on that OS desperately, interface looks interesting.

  • @1986Chaitanya Just another iPhone knockoff.

  • Apple was first one to kick off a revolution with iPhone. Everyone will follow the suit now that it was a huge success among consumers. But the demo is interesting to generate interest in potential buyers. I currently have phone based on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro and I like it.

  • Google and Apple show REAL videos with actual device. Microsoft just shows an imagined thing floating on the air.

  • ???...Nothing much substantial in the Ad..I liked Google's First Ad of Nexus One and their tag line as well..."Web meets phone"...

  • Why does it look like a cheap iPhone copy?

Oh, oh...!!! I know, I know! because IT IS ONE!!!

The mobile phone industry should really stop trying to copy/paste Apple.

  • when will they come out with a phone that will do my laundry or dishes, they do everything else.

  • that was fucking lame. that kid should be playing with that ball instead of playing games on the phone so he doesnt get fat. and the ginger should leave her husband because hes obviously a faggot when his first reaction to a picture is to post it on facebook.

  • @KojachBaumherr

Haha- i agree and I like how they ditch the kid at the end.

No wonder he needs xbox live. No one will

    even play soccer with him.

  • The phone might be fine, but the ad sucks big time. :D

  • iPhone still the best! Damn the Window phone.

  • kinda false advertising lmao dumb ppl will think it has a projector

  • Windows is trying...I think it's cute

  • I'll stick to my APPLE iPhone, thanks.

  • I've used a Windows Mobile for the last 4 years and i think the new Windows Phone 7 Series isn't looking at that good. Seems like i might be tempted over to Android, which is a shame as i was hoping the new version would have the full functionality as the existing WM builds.

  • I like the fact that the man in the relationship is a single parent... I'm assuming that's what's going on. Do 'married' couples go on dates?

  • Nobody is even paying attention to what their doing or saying anymore, because of all this Idiotic Corporate Technology their trying to Brain Wash everybody into thinking they have to have, its just ridlicious, not to mention the expense of having all these things !!!

  • well said i totally agree with u

  • 5 star for hot ginger ;)

  • ha ha , stupid windows phone!!! , do they even know what they're doing...

  • check us out.... add us

  • Anna is smokin' hot!

  • i was just think that, thanks for expressing my thoughts in to words

  • this is a total rip off of the palm commercial! lame looking people, lame commercial and lame music.

  • "Anna finds directions to the theater."

REALLY Microsoft? That was the BEST closing line you could think of?!

Loved it otherwise, could've ended with the family meeting up.

  • gingers do have souls. Do grown ups really care about putting photos on facebook anyways? Tell me it has flash support or a built in pico projector.

  • I like the invisible screen above the device. LOL

But if I want a locked down device I can get an iPhone. At least it got copy & paste.

  • lol. iPhone iPhone iPhone. Does this Windows product have a decent camera? Sound that doesn't drop out on loud video recordings? Reliable email receiving? A memory card? No? Hmm...ill stick with my Blackberry thanks.

  • cool, an iPhone!

this actually would be revolutionary if the phones did support those awesome translucent displays instead of little screens...

  • Why does Luca have a cellphone...?

  • Because 10 year olds need cell phones to play games. Give your child a $300 device that lets them connect with sexual predators and call people they dont need to call. A PS3 is good for games and isnt a cell phone. Make the smart choice parents!

  • It Would Be Cool If All Phone Display The Screen Like That!!

  • Are you serious? Windows Phone 7 is like the best thing msft has created in like years. Nobody gives a fuck about Ana and Mitch or Miles or whoever. You have a great product. Fire your ad people and show people the fucking OS.

  • Anna is HAWT! ... oh yeah, nice job, Microsoft!

  • oh common, Palm pre add knock off. how is it with that... half displayed menu layout on the new Windows 7 mobile? WHY?? can some 1 explain to me? reading instead of "MUSIC" u read "SIC".. u know what i mean?

  • @petikeisaz This is to let you know that you are 1 panel away from the far left side of the strip. It's the same concept as the little page dots at the bottom of the iPhone home screen, but more subtle.

  • Meet Anna

  • I am looking forward to this, but please add Copy & Paste. Each week I Tweet a paragraph from my phone but change a few stats, it lives in a word document on my phone which I copy from and then paste into my twitter app!

  • There's nothing in that ad that I can't already do easily on my HD2. But with WP7S having so many limitations and lockdowns, there's a lot my HD2 can do that it wouldn't be able to under WP7S. Next phone: Android

  • Ooh arent you unique and edgy!! If you need copy and paste in a phone then get something else, no-ones forcing you to buy it. I'd agree that its rarely used beyond numbers and emails; i've been using HTC windows phones since the original XDA and I can think of about 1 occasion where I've used C&P. So keep your amazing Palm Pre if you need it,but dont compare it like its amazing because of that. It's also ugly and not doing particularly well and there will be plenty this can do that palm doesn't

  • at :42-47, it looks like an HTC HD2...but it obviously is not because MS said it has too many keys :\

  • This is a nice ad. Its nice to see MS trying to create an emotional connection and a lifestyle with its users.

I like that this commercial alludes to some of the things they expect you to do with the device and show real world uses for it. Very nice use of storytelling, making the moments as important as the device and showing how the same device fits many different types of users.

Very effective advertising. Especially since the device is not out yet and they are still in the "buzz phase".

  • I use copy & paste everyday on my Palm Pre and before that I used it on my WM6 Phone. If MS decides not to add copy & paste it will postpone my purchase of getting a WP7S Phone. MS don't be like Apple telling us what we need or don't need. Then firmware update us a year or two later with the things we've been waiting for.

  • I h8 it... How about privacy!

  • Was that Matt Parkman's house in Heroes??

  • Comment removed

  • A fluffy advert full of happy smiling people. Contains zero information. All 'lifestyle'...

    Windows Phone 7 Series.

    No memory cards

    No file system access

    Application censorship (approval) only

    No OS API access

    Managed code playground only

    No skinning/customisation

No 'cut and paste' because Micro$oft say that we do not need it - I decide... I am no M$ drone

WP7S is an application sitting on top of a locked down OS. WP7S is not an operating system.

  • @constructorx The general public aren't really interested in all those specifics. If you want an advert tailored to YOU. Then make one yourself. If not, then look on the internet for your information

  • Yeah the general public only cares about 3 things apps, web browsing and ecosystem. I wish that wasn't the case but it is. We know the sells pitch "over 100,000 apps, the best mobile browser, and iTunes. And people eat it up.

  • @TheHusky9 If the ad contains no useful information, that what exactly is there that the general public is interested in? Yet another vacuous advertisement to play on their "oh, that's so cool and sexy!" emotions?

I don't know how much people care about file system access (thought they should), but the fact that they're not likely to have many apps to choose from is something they definitely care about.

  • @moonbots General public are interested in adverts that literally flash them an idea of what is on sale. The rest of the research is up to the concerned consumer, noone likes long winding adverts in something their not interested in.

  • I am happy that there is something different than an iPhone. Not to mention, in the end both phones are nearly identical on the software side of things. At least WP7S can be on multiple hardware platforms than some shiny brick.

  • @tangentabacus2000 Android is something different from the iPhone. As far as Android and iPhone go, I'm agnostic...they're both very cool, but not perfect. What compelling thigs does WP7S bring to the table? By the time you can buy it, there will be a 4th gen iPhone out.

  • @moonbots I have to agree with you on that notion. Seems to me that iPhone is going to be fierce about this new WP7S stuff. It's a tough market right now filled with lots of pretty satisfied Apple customers.

  • Aww, something innocent and I get soo many thumbs down. It's not like I was bashing anyone in particular. I just think it's nice that there is a real runner up to the iPhone, finally. After all, tense competition is why the iPhone is so cool right now. You guys must have meant to click the thumbs up...

  • heres a thumbs up for you...

don't mind the snobs in the room. if microsoft discovered a cure for cancer or aids, these guys would still find something to whine about.

you must understand that in the minds of these zealous apple fans, apple 'must' always bring out the best. if it is second best in reality, then they will augment that reality until it is the best through self deluded hypnotic encantations of self assurement. its the only way they can sleep at night.

  • I love U WP7S
