@kinston24fan Why the hell is scalabrine not in that lineup ? i mean if any one deserves to be in the all decade first team for his outstanding playing during the last decade, its white mamba !!
why does everyone compare mbenga to scalabrine? mbenga got way more play time and he's actually a very decent bench player. the comparisons are just dumb!
should of kept those role players they made all the difference no matter there inefficencies farmer gave something so did mbenga powell and vujaic even thou he couldnt make much brought a certain flare to the game.
One thing i didnt understand with PHIL JACKSON was how he let KWAMEE Brown be a starter for years and MBENGA saw alot of games from the bench not even entering the game :S
@Sensational1393 Now i meant how PJ always let the bench play very little, For an ex Rookies last year hardly got the chance , Mbenga i loved his enthusiam to the game just sayin that he didnt play as much as he maybe could or deserved iam aware of PAU,Drew,LAmar beeing in there.. Just saying i wish we saw him play more cause he really is a special player..
@Sp2three Phil Jackson does have a reputation of giving playing time to all 12 players though. I remember that in one of his books (I think it was Sacred Hoops) he claimed that he always tries to find a role for every single player on the roster, so they would feel like a part of the team not some scrubs, who rarely get to play. I'm too lazy to look up stats, but I think that this mostly applies to his Bulls days as I also feel like he could have given more playing time to Powell and Mbenga.
@LamarMatic Yeah man that exactly how i feel we had a pretty good bench that wasnt getting used, As you i havent looked up the stats or anything just a gut feeling that thoose guys deserved to play more atleast during reg season. Thats why i cant wait to see how M.Brown will use ebanks, goudelouck, morris, caracter cause theese 4 player is what lakers need to invest time in they are young and good.
@tastycajun0381 Dude how can you not like to cheer for someone who tries hard all the time? Guys like him are paid the least in the league, and probably give the most effort consistently in practice, meetings and games out of nearly anyone else in the league.
When a superstar has work ethic and energy like that, they become dominant. It's very much the same thing.
@tastycajun0381 Well 12th men pretty often become fan favourites, because they usually play with energy and seem to be those guys you just want to root for, since they get on the floor for a couple of minutes during blow-outs. You just want so that bench warmer would score some points. I guess they pretty often are some modest, likeable dudes as well. I think that Mbenga is a quality back-up center though.
@LamarMatic Reminded me of Sun Yue, everyone always wanted so badly for him to just hit a jumpshot. You could hear it in the crowd. Hardly ever happened, his form and release were decent, too.
@xdan87 He came as a refugee to Belgium, but he is originally from Congo. However, he does play for the Belgian national team. Congo-Belgium Cash just doesn't have the same ring to it...
@abuevamonster Bol was a just terrible player, could human being but a bad player. Mutombo and Olajuwon aren't even in the league anymore so that's entirely irrelevant. Ibaka is solid though, but like I said Bogut is still the best blocker at the moment. Plus with African players it's a 50-50 chance that they end up being a bust (Thabeet, Olwakandi).
@Walnut8711 I'd say Manute Bol was a pretty solid player. Of course with him on the floor his team basically played 4 on 5 on offense, however his defensive presence was huge. Definitely one of the greatest shot blockers of all time.
@Walnut8711 its not irrelevant when i said player.and even though you said manute bol is a terrible player he blocks man. look at the all time blocking list. Thabeet is a bust but he is a monster blocker during his college days. and by the way Olowakandi isnt in the league anymore, isnt that irrelevant?
