Hey man i got a nightser '08 too. I was wonderin did you have to relocate the ecm to mount the spring seat right? Did you use a kit or did you do it yourself?

The seat seems to be a secret... but if you guys google a bit you will find a LOT of seats out there.... just google springer seat.... or perhaps tuck and roll seat(which is the specific type of seat here) - do a google picture search too.

Im glad you are OK. I had a Triumph chopper years ago, and I love my sporty now with suspension. Its a performance bike. The guy I got my sporty is a pilot that had Sportsters since the 60's. He gave me some good advice, he told me to leave her stock the first year and really learn to ride. I already knew how to ride but I really took his advice.. I think its important to ride the bike as it was engineered from designers, they are pretty good, sometimes when you modify you loose performance

It has rigid struts so there is no movement. Looks cool but uncomfortable for long rides. His sprung seat will add some softness though.

You know what, that actually looks amazing. Okay, it sort've resembles the cross bone a little, specially if you're going to add ape hangers, however, HD should look into having this type of style in the sportster category.

the shocks ride much better than struts. but a spring seat makes the ride with struts bearable. got the seat from lickscycles.

to total a bike the repair cost has to be more than half the cost of the bike. in my case alaska has ruts in the highway and they were filled with water and i hit one and hydroplaned at 70. the rest is history...

As my main mode of transportation I need to ride my nightster through all kinds of weather. In rain, dirt gets kicked up on the back of the bike with a full fender. How is it for you with a chopped one?

Also, before this nightster I had someone total my previous 883 sportster, so I feel ya on that aspect.
