  • my first job was here in 77,smoked weed in the old haunted house{we had roof access)i really miss it.

  • Me and my buddy jamie used to get sooooo stoned and just walk around this park for hours in the 70s....I miss those days of free drugs and free sex hell I got my first blowjob behind the tilt and whirl!! I've done a lot of acid in my day but id trade it all for one more summer night at the strip....rip good buddy

  • Thank u for posting this. It brought back memories of family vacations & summer fun. I hate that its gone. The old Panama City was the best place in the world, during 70s-early 90s. I miss it.

  • Seeing this REALLY kills me. I lived at this place when it was open. It was so much fun! Especially back in the 70's!!! I remember midnight madness! Oh. my. GOD! Being a kid then, it was like a night of lawlessness and CHAOS!!!! LOL!!! GOOD TIMES! And when I wasn't there, I would always be at Silver Circle. : ) Also awsome....

  • I'll always remember making out with Lynn Mock in the Abominable Snowman in the Summers of 79 and 80. Good times.

  • I couldnt believe they let them destroy this place, i lived at that park every summer growing up!!

  • I went here every summer as a child. When I found out that they were tearing it down to build condos, my childhood was over. :(

  • Great video!!!! Brings back such great memories. Does anyone know the name and artist of the song playing?????

  • Well, at least there's a new Miracle Strip that has some of the original rides....... oh, and they bought the Starliner and are in the planning stages of resurrecting the old legend.

  • We really miss that place! As a child we went each year during summer vacation! My son rode his first roller coaster there.....good times- wish it was still there!

  • i feel sorry for children growing up in this world today

  • they ruin everything now a days...anything thats fun and makes life worth living gets destroyed or taken away..pretty soon this will be a land of nothing but conformative programmed pencil pushers whos know nothing about living to enjoy life.

  • Nicely done! Thanks for sharing this ☼

  • Visited the remains today!!! Made my heart hurt.. Brought home a piece of the snowman and got to sit on a bench and walk on what is left of the track. This was a tragedy and still is my kid will never get the experience any of the fun I had as a kid!!!

  • Nice job, i went there its last season and the first time i had ever ridden was starliner and im actually here in PCB right now

  • went there everytime we went on our summer vacation luckily got to ride the starliner with the guy who broke the record for most times ridden the last night it was open man i miss it

  • that looked like a pretty fun place.

  • i miss the hell out of miracle strip.

  • Dude i miss this went when i was 10 the Devil ride was sweeeeeet

  • What memories, we went to PCB every year in the 60's up until '78, did not get to go back until '97, we always rented a cabin on the street behind the FUNHOUSE across the Fountain Blue hotel, 5 kids 2 adults and one year a friend went with us, he had never seen the ocean and sadly, he died a few years ago, we always had the most wonderful times there, I have begged my husband to find a IT job down that way so we could move and live there year round, or Destin, I just love it !

  • You did a very good job on this video it showed everything I will forever miss Miracle Strip R.I.P

  • Man this was awesome!!! I went there from 1987 to 1997 every year. I wish my kids could have enjoyes it 1 time. But all they can hear is my memories!!!!!!

  • Great memories. Spent several summers there in the late 90's trying to pick up girls and look cool. Wish I would have realized how much I would miss it when it was still around. Never went again after turning 16 in 2001. It's a shame I won't ever be able to go take my wife or children there, but I will always remember the memories I made with friends, some of whom I still have today.

  • Dante's Inferno was the first place I ever heard a Nine Inch Nails' song, it was "Head Like a Hole". Awsome!

  • Oh my Lord! Iwent there in the mid 90's and it was fantastic! I remember the little casino they had with the gold coins to play with, the mini golf, the haunted house! Oh its a shame people only go there to party now, but it was a great place to be. rip M S

  • I got pictures of me driving the cars around the track when I was like 5 with my older sister, Im 31 now.

  • Great video. We used to go to Miracle Strip every summer from when I was in elementary school (early 1970s) to when I was in college (mid 1980s). I loved the large haunted house.

  • Great job thanks for the flashback! MSAP was a staple of my teenage life with my best friend!!! whoop whoop summers of 92-96

  • It will NEVER be the same!

  • I worked at Shipwreck as a lifeguard in summer of '05. Good times.

  • I miss Panama City and I def. miss Miracle Strip Park and Shipwreck Island... they were neighbors and now I think it's only Shipwreck... i havent been to Panama City In years... But the beach is always Fun.. I miss my Home Town

  • The great news is, a new Miracle Strip Park in being built at the Pier Park shopping mall. But, it's adding one ride at a time, over a 10 year period. Yet, good things come to those who wait.

  • Man, oh, man this brings back memories. I'm sad that my kids won't get to experience this park. Thanks for this video.

  • CRAP! thats like only 2 hours away from me!

  • I lived in Panama City when I was a kid. Miracle Strip was the first amusement park I ever went to. I'm sad to see it go.

  • @AmericanNinja1981 me too

and imma be moving back there when i turn 18

  • Did this get audio-swapped?

  • Wow this really brought back memories. Thanks for posting.

  • It is really great it brings back many happy memories of day's gone by. I spent many fun hours at the Park.when my family and friends came down from LaGrange Ga. the Park is where I'd take them. The kid's loved the rides I loved the food:funnel cakes, cotton candy, corn dogs.God gave me the desire of my heart,He let me move to P.C.Beach.Those were the happiest day's of my life. I miss my church Gulf Beach Baptist my pastor Greg George and friends.I miss the Park .Thanks for sharing a great video.

  • Thanks for the memories of a happier day past. I spent many hours at the Park and on the Strip.I vacationed in P.C.B. and wanted to move there.God gave me the desire of my heart and I moved to P.C.B.Those were the happiest day's of my life. When family and friends came down from Ga. we always went to the Park. The kids loved the rides I loved the food.Funnel cakes, cotton candy.corn dogs. It broke my heart when they tore it down.It was a great place to go and have fun.It has been missed.

  • YEAH,i miss the OLD p.c beach!!! This was my childhood! There used to be another attraction but they tore it down in the early 80s. Petticoat junction! i'd like to see some pics of that!

  • I had a lot of great memories about Panama City, Florida from my childhood. My grandmother lived there and we'd visit her every summer, and of course have some fun at the attractions. Yet even then, during the early 80's, I could see changes happening and I knew they were not for the better. After my grandmother died in the early 80's, we just started going to other places and I had been blissfully unaware of a lot of goings on. Just learned Castle Dracula burned down in '87, and now this. :(

  • My name is Ian and i am a rollercoaster/ theme park lover. This is quite weird seeing it like this. Last year when i was at PCB going to Shipwreck Island, my dad pointed to a ivy covered entrance sign and told me about the park. When i was there all i saw was the old devil building, and sadly its was falling apart. After the great storys my dad told me about this place i havent really looked into it now. Thank you FilmSphereFilms so i could see where my dad had so much fun.

  • tear. i remember this park like I was their yesterday i went their almost every weekend. its a huge part of my child hood, when I heard the news it was shutting down i cryed my eyes out. I remeber the last time i went i just broke down and started crying in front of the park i still know the whold theme song for Shipwreck Island and Miracle Strip park. All the time i wish the park would re open for just one night so i could relive my memories. r.i.p MIRACLE STRIP PARK. HUGES AND KISSES

  • @taylor1018t

Some of the old rides have been moved to Pier Park here on PCB and have been refurbished to their origional style, and you can once again ride them.

  • @Cintasplace

And they are going to try to get the Starliner.

  • there is just WAY too much of this kinda thing disappearing nowadays - breaks my heart when I see this... I spent quite a bit of free time at MS with my friends (when our parents could afford it back then). Breaks my heart to see all this stuff go away, not just MS, necessarily - but my wife and I were just commenting the other day on how we have nothing left from our childhood to share with our kids now... so sad - and they wonder why these children are so out of control now???

  • I went there when I was six on the last either day or weekend it was open,i remember the rollercoaster,I sat up front and the big mouth scared me to death.lol.I also remember seeing that vampire thing but i didn't know what it was, still don't.

  • the Illuminati does like for People to gamble Their money away that Is why there are all these casinos popping up everywhere but other than that the Illuminati does Not like for People to have fun so they take Our amusement parks away they did the same thing In Tulsa with Bell's amusement park.

  • what is left now?is the skyride platform still there rusting away??

  • I take it,this Pk no longer exists? Is that the case? We're planning a Panama City Fl trip this June and was wondering if there was anything else like this.

  • I went there almost every week they were open from 2001 to 2004.

    R.I.P.

Hopefully Pier Park will be able to get all of the rides like they say they are. I want to ride the Starliner again.

  • PCB is my second home! I miss this with all my heart. I 2 had my first kiss there! I am just glad they atleast kept Shipwreck Island!! RIP Miracle Strip! You will always be missed.

  • I will always miss Miracle Strip, they are actually making another Miracle Strip at Pier Park, but its only a mini..they have the carousel and the balloon ride, they are still in the process of building it...I really miss the walk in haunted house, I had so much fun as a kid with my friends, it was fun scaring people in it...hiding in a corner, lol

  • I remember when I was little, my parents and I would always go there! We always stayed at the Reef Inn and run across the street to get to the Miracle Strip. I loved that place and now all it is is like hotels and such. Why did they have to take it away?! Rest In Peace! I loved Route 63 (:

  • 2 family vacations there. mid to late 70's. wonderful memories. i am taking my teens this summer. first time in Florida for them. i have no idea what to expect. thank you for this slide show. this is what makes youtube wonderful. how on earth could we ever see thsee pics elsewhere.

  • Very nice! As long as these places are alive in our memories, they're never really gone.

  • i loved this place

  • Yes, mom-and-pop motels have been replaced by gigantic, tan monstrosities.

    PC is becoming Vegas.

Change is coming, and I don't believe it's for the best.

  • No way PCB is becoming Vegas, there is literally no construction happening right now, and don't expect any for a LONG LONG time either. It's sad that they tore it all down for an EMPTY LOT

  • wow, you guys have no idea. I've lived in pcb my entire life, and miss this place dearly. I had my first kiss there lol

  • i visited panima city tthis sumer and the mini mall they were gonna build isnt built yet, but the water parks still there

  • wow mmhh good times really??

  • Thought it was a great photo tour...Good job! Miss the old P.C.B. but what ever lasts?

  • I wish I had got to go.

The summer we were going to go it was sold.

  • A tragic loss, always loved, never forgotten.

  • Sometimes I forget its gone.

It places like this that made Panama City, sad to it go all condosnob

  • Once, the wife and I rode the Starliner and the lap-bar came flying up on one of those hill-tops. Freaked us out bigtime! It re-engaged at the bottom of the next valley. Never set foot on that thing again.

  • whats the song called?

  • i miss tht place i live in pcb and i was pissed to hear they closed it for condos i miss the o2 tower the most tht was a great ride

    R.I.P. Miracle Strip

  • good stuff.this is a good slide show of the park.thanks

  • any pics of the skyride they had??

  • Still can't believe its gone. =0(

  • Guess it just didn't fit in with the big money condos. One of the coolest places to be as a kid. It will be missed.

  • One of the best parks i have ever been 2 sad to see it go,had alot of fun there with my family when we went.

    R.I.P M.S.A.P

  • I was wondering what that place was! I just got back from Panama City, The Beach Tower Motel has a great view of Miracle Strip Park, it looks so sad and deserted, somebody needs to do something :(

  • My fiance has been going to Panama since he was born (literally, his fanily has been going for over 35 yrs. now) and he was sad to see the park go cause it was so much fun. My fiance knows how much I LOVE amusements parks and its SUCKS cause he can't take me where he and his family had so much fun.

I didn't even get to experience Miracle Stripe :(. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • just a correction. They didn't destroy the Starliner, they dismantled it. Destroying it would have involved a much more "violent" method, and rendering it unusable.

  • i miss this park so much, this is where i rode my first coaster and now i cant get enough, and route 63 was the best, i want to cry knowing i can never share this with my daughter, we go to wild adventures all the time but its not the same

  • Man, that really left a lump in my throat. Like someone said, if I had the money I'd build it back exactly the way it was.

Back in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up Panama City really was a very special place and did decline in the late 90s but does show some improvement as of lately but sadly lost much of it's old charm in the process.

    RIP

    Miracle Strip Amusement

    Pettycoat junction

The space needle (miracle strip tower)

    Snake a torium

    The Volcano Alvins Island

    The Black Hole.

  • Wow, I remember this in the early 90's!

While I never lived here, I've been here and this amusement park was well worth it. Sad it's gone, because I'm sure if still open till today it would've done better than the condominiums did :[.

  • its sad that this is gone I have many many pics of me and my family there the devil thing was scary for me I hated it as a child ...but there is always the screamer boat ride and sea shell island some things dont change

  • ive never been to it but my parents LOVED it makes me wanna cry =,(

  • Thank you for posting this video. I remember this amusement park. I loved it as a kid. I drove past this the other day and it made me want to cry. :(

  • Very well done! I was born in Coral Gables and live in Orlando, unfortunately I've never been to MSAP. Sadly it was Floridas only traditional amusement park. Thankfully, I was able to ride the Starliner when it was moved to Cypress Gardens in 2007. But now it's future is again in question as the new owners og CG decided to eliminaite all the rides. GOD SAVE THE STARLINER, AGAIN!

  • Lets hope either the Jacksonville Zoo or the Tampa Zoo pulls through for us, both are considering buy a coaster and J-ville's zoo is rumored to have Starliner under consideration.

  • @woodencoasterfan

The new Miracle Strip is in the early planning stage of trying the get the Starliner for the new park at Pier Point. Would be one hell of a homecoming,

  • @Scioneer You got that right. I heard the former MSAP site is sitll vacant, is that true?

  • @woodencoasterfan

From what I heard, BP is using the old MSAP site as its staging ground for the oil spill clean up for the PCB area. Would be nice if new MSAP can get that site, and move there, however their location at Pier Park does look like it has enough room to squeeze in Starliner. It will be a tight fit, but doable.

  • These park videos make me depressed, even if I never went to them. It saddens me that classic parks are beginning to disappear. It's not only speed and inversions that counts on roller coasters.

  • Thank you. The best amusement park there ever was. I suppose charm is priceless but unfortunately not forever. If I had the money I would rebuild it just the same. RIP Miracle Strip.

  • thanks for posting i have been there since i was little and it made me sad when we went this june and it was closed but we still went to the shipwrek island

  • Just wanted to say Thank You.

    Dwight

  • what happen to it

  • I remember this is the park i rode my first roller coaster and first flipping ride

  • Part of what 'is no more'. Just like Miracle Strip, the rest of the beach is lost as well. It's a sad state.

  • *sigh* My mom was from Panama City, so I practically grew up there. I have been to the miracle strip so many times, that I didn't think anything of it.... now I'd give anything to go back one more time.

  • I may be just 11 but we go to PCB every year and I remember riding the sea dragon and my mother having to hold me down b-cuz i wuz so little! (Sea Dragon @ 0:28 ) and on the ferris wheel me and my sister were doing spongebob laughs and a little boy was like "MOMA, SPONGEBOB IS ON THE RIDE"! RIP MIRACLE STRIP (I also miss the abonbnibale snowman ride) :[

  • I remember going to Miracle strip as a child int he 70's. Always loved the haunted house and the gas powered cars. I also had to have a drink out of the lion. I have pictures of me drinking from it! Shame that it gone along with Peticoat Junction good times were had by all!

  • RIP Miracle Strip! I went every summer since I was 7, my sister used to work there! I went the 2nd to last night of the closing season. Nothing better than the Swings, and Musik Express!! So many memories!

  • Thanks! The photos bring back loads of fun childhood memories of Panama City! We used to go every summer when I was a kid in the early 1970s. I loved the roller coaster, log ride (which was one of the tallest I've been on), and the haunted houses.

  • This video brought back so many memories. I am 43 years old and used to go to Miracle Strip almost every summer. I started on the little rides and worked up to the more intense rides. I always had to drink out of the Lion water fountain, thirsty or not. I remember waiting in line for the Snowman because you would get so hot and just wanted to cool off. I took both of my children there several times, and we were there on the last Saturday of operation to say good-bye. Thanks for the memories

  • thanks

I actually meant location of The Loop O Plane in the park?? where was that??

  • I worked at MSAP in the late 60's for 3 summers and 2 winters while I was going to Gulf Coast College. The "Looper" as we called it back then was located between the ferris wheel and the tilt-a whirl. The first ride I worked was the looper. The park, in those days, was a fantasic place to work, all of us had to be able to run multiple rides and were a close knit group of kids. I have many great memories from that time period in my life.

  • i'm so sad they tore it down we went there every summer:(

  • so thanks again just wanted to know location, as basically that's the first thing my wife and I ever did together, even though she got so sick...if ya know appreciate it

  • nice job here thanks

we jus got back a few days ago..we stayed at Beach Tower Motel...2nd floor.. we could see the park at that angle. I would like to know the location of the loop o plane ride. we went in 1988, summer. My wife, then just a friend in a group of us went there. We only did the plane as that made her super sick..lololol. but back then it was not funny, anyway we all left after that, only ride we all ever did...bu seeing park a few days ago got me thinking..and you have the photo

  • the park is closed down

  • Little Slayer... Sorry your park is gone. Right now the only park that is thriving and improving is King`s Island Cincinnati. It is worth the drive as opposed to other parks near florida. It rivals 6 flags in California.

  • I was just talking about Miracle Strip with my parents a few days ago. We used to always go there on our vacations to Panama City. I really miss it. It's a shame the place closed.
