Is it too much to ask for someone to have identification? Seriously?
I can't believe that there are actually people out there who are against having picture ID to vote. You need picture ID to do most everything except for voting, the most crucial civic responsibility we have as a people. Doesn't make any sense.
@richmeisterg Just because the Constitution doesn't "require" identification doesn't mean that a state cannot codify such a requirement. So long as the ability to get an I.D. is available to all potential voters (i.e. relief for folks who cannot afford applicable fees). Providing identification before voting is simply common sense.
On the matter of collage students? So you can apply, attend, study and may be attain a degree but you cant' manage to get a photo ID? WHAT!?!? Please!
There should be a very good ID to present for a driver's license, to buy alchohol, and yes, to vote.
If there is to be a Photo ID, first there should be the opportunity for every eligible voter in the US to get an ID and only then should there be such an ID requirement.
No ID to vote? I guess we should do away with an ID to get a diver's license, buy alcohol, to protect us against ID theft via a stolen credit card. Imagine some one who's credit card has been stone in the hands of the thief going to Walmart to use it for a $1200 dollar tv and the cashier is not allowed to ask for a photo ID? It would lead to much chaos and much more ID theft.
There needs to be a good form of ID to drive an automobile, buy alcohol and of course vote.
Too bad that asking for ID to verify for a credit card is against the terms, and Visa/ Mastercard etc.. (because it aids in fraud and ID theft in and of itself). I see you just created the account, but I don't know maybe know something about the terms of use if you are going to not know what you are talking about creating an account so you don't look stupid with your name and real account works.
if OPRAH put up the resource$ to setup a website & 1-800 lines for SOLE task of buying photo IDs/birth certificates for ANYONE needing them to vote, we'd beat the republicans at their own game!
She makes a very good point. I believe that this may just backfire as are young people reach the voting age. Youth voters are paying attention and they will be out in force for future elections.
I had goosebumps when I listened to her. She is amazing in her heartfelt delivery describing this horrendous piece of legislation. I wish the woman Senator I have, was half the woman you are. Lena Taylor makes me proud of my state in a time of great embarrassment.
I have luekemia and I'm on disability, I feel that this is the beginning of the end for our rights in Wi. We do not need to limit peoples ability to vote. Everyone needs a voice. EVERYONE This is what it means to be an American.
Go Senator Taylor! Awesome speech pointing out the suppression that Republican lawmakers have laid before us. Rather than use their platform to turn the poor, the elderly, and those pesky college students...they simply take away their voice. THIS IS NOT THE WAY OF AMERICA!!

@coolbreezed U.S. Constitution does not require you to have an i.d. to vote which is a constitutional right.
