sorry guys, but this pedal is complete crap. sounds great but everyone seems to be having serious problems with it. mine worked for about 50 minutes, then it stopped working. if you wanna buy memory toy, then you should consider investing some more and buy memory boy, it seems to be designed way better. sorry ehx, but memory toy sucks big time.
@lookatthebluesky ok, that's really been a while... the pedal was broken and it was sent to an authorized service center and now it's just perfect... have never heard such a great delay for such an affordable price. i can even forgive it the issues i had at the very beginning. cheers
Looks like a great pedal, I notice the memory boy is only about £14 more.....does anyone think you get a lot more for your money for that little bit extra?
I think "wet" refers to the pedal's signal, and "dry" refers to the guitar's signal. You're not that stupid, dude. Most Americans can't even comprehend the meaning of humor.
These pedals are great, but it is practically mandatory to adjust the inner pot for the modulation, otherwise it is useless, mine sounds so good now i actually like the chorus now as much as the delay.
I'm pretty clueless when it comes to guitar distortions and delays. But can someone explain to me what every single knob on there does to affect the sound? I see him plaing it and I can sort of make out what it does. But I'm not really sure. And how would you know the difference between a good delay and a bad delay? D:<
@xshatteredxjuvi The Delay knob controls the amount of time between the repeats of the sound (a lot of time when turned up, a little bit of time when turned down). The Feedback knob controls how many repeats (when turned up there will be a lot of repeats, and few repeats when turned down). The Blend knob blends in how much delay (a lot of delay when turned up, and a little bit of delay when turned down). The modulation switch controls of if the delay will change in pitch or not.
I just ordered the Malekko Ekko 616 V.2. Its upgraded from the first one, n its basically a combo of the Carbon Copy and this. The True Bypass mode is really dark, warm echoes. Buffer mode gives the signal a tad more bite, along the lines of this.
I just got this pedal and i cant complain. I mean ya, as previously stated, the mod doesn't work very well but it's not a deal breaker. this is basically an mxr carbon copy for a lot less cash.
@Putaspellonyou The malekko ekko 616. It has 2 mod adjustment controls on the face of the pedal, along with true bypass mode and buffer mode. True Bypass mode is dark and warm like the CC, and buffer mode has more bite, but is still analog warm.
It's hard to decide since both sound awesome. The carbon copy has more "magic" than the memory toy, but that little magic costs 70 bucks more haha So If you have the money buy the Carbon Copy, if not, the memory toy. Both are great choices.
I've got one of these and I think it's a fantastic little pedal. With postage a packaging it cost me about £58. That's a bargin in my book, and it doesn't sound half bad either. I don't think it's a substitute for a Deluxe Memory Man (I have one of those too), but it certainly has it's own thing going on, and that's not a bad thing.
I just picked one of these up yesterday to be used as a slight echo on my lead channel of my Mesa Boogie. This is hands down the best delay pedal out there, IMHO.
u could have bought the memory boy for 100 dolas and it comes with the power adapter wich is nomaly almost 15 dolaz and the price difernce between the toy and the boy is only $20...
It comes with a 9v battery installed hahahahaha but i bought the dc adapter... good investment get the one spot kit from guitar center its 34 bucks and it powers like 9 pedals
I put it ahead of the preamp. Sounds great. The mod switch also seems to give a little volume boost and when the delay is set to a low blend, gives a grainy kind of andy timmons chorus effect. love it... for the price, this is the best unit out there.
Great Gilmour, dude. Spot on.

@Sixtyfivemiles Yes, true. But it seems you can find a used toy for a lot less than a used boy. That sounds nasty, sorry.

This pedal and the MXR CC basically imitate the tape echo flutter with the mod. switches, so its close to the real thing without the tape hassles.

id go with the carbon copy, since you can adjust the 'mod' internally. on this one it seems way to thick to be useful

good news man, you can adjust the mod depth level on this one also...I found it online.
