Even though it is obviously a religious story, I really like it how the trailer made no propaganda-like mentions of Christianity, like the phrase "a celebration of the human spirit" instead of "a celebration of the power of god".

Doing a research paper on Israel and stumbled across childhood memory of this film. An amazing film but it seems (of course) that the childhood depictions don't match what is likely the historical realities of what was very probably a real crossing of the Israelites into the Sinai Peninsula. Most biblical translations dont even depict a parting of the waters such as this, for instance, but an east wind which would suggest a crossing at the shallow lake Timsah at the sea of reeds.

I'm not a religious dude, but man this movie is awesome, also one of the things that I love about this movie is that the characters are more human like Ramses, most of the time in other works Ramses is all evil and stuff but in this movie he's not exactly bad because he wants but because he thinks this is the only way to reach his goal (being more powerful than his father and not being remembered as the weak king for example).

I'm really impressed with Dreamworks' work on The Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King of Dreams.

I've always been curious on how would they do what may be the ultimate Bible Story....The story of Jesus. I most especially wonder how they'd animate his parables. I mean, Dreamworks used hieroglyphics for Prince and Joseph. What would they used for an animated movie about Jesus? Mosaics? Roman frescoes?

@sarathescholar Middle Eastern and North African people are considered white by the US and South American censuses and have the same range of complexions as people in Europe...with a bit more darker people due to the desert climate. It depends on how you define white.

I'm not the least bit religious, but this movie is wonderful. It's a great story, great script, great, great, great music and songs (I love musicals), great acting, great emotion, great animation. I could go on. The ONLY bad thing about it is the horrible R&B cover of When You Believe done by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. I mean, seriously, it was a great scene in the movie, just leave it alone.

Totally late quote. Probably not relevant, but the Torrah is the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, better known as the Old Testament of the Bible. So the stories of Adam and Eve and especially Moses are in there. The Jewish holiday of Passover celebrates this Exodus story.
