I'm always astonished at how bad the prequels are. They didn't ruin my childhood because they were coming out when I was still young and I hadn't even seen the originals yet, so I'm not quite as mad as people who thought these movies "Raped their childhood." It's amazing that they were allowed to be so bad and that george manages to be intelligent and completely insane/retarded. The real tragedy is that some fans can't watch the originals without being reminded of the prequels or the marketing
1st time I saw E1 I left feeling hollow - not angry, not disappointed, just feeling nothing but a bit confused. The whole movie felt like a beginning piece of one of the original movies. I kept expecting the real movie, the real story to begin sometime after the action fluff. It wasn't till later the more I thought about it I realize just how bad that movie was and came to despise it not just for being a bad Star Wars film but just for being a bad film period. The same with the other two.
