  • Positively LOVE her!!!!

  • Great song, Nellie

  • Ha, LOVE the Betty Crocker add, in the corner of my screen.

  • Also, this is entirely in keeping with McKay's 2009 album "Normal as Blueberry Pie - A Tribute to Doris Day." Doris Day recorded "Tea for Two" a number of times and also sang it in the movie "Tea for Two." For a clip of Day singing the song in the movie, youtube.com/watch?v=Om3ZHyBz5u4

  • The "bake a sugar cake" is a phrase from the old song "Tea for Two" of the 20s (from the musical "No, No, Nanette) which is all about getting married and having a family. McKay is obviously playing with the genre. It's irony. Irony is her trademark.

  • I love her but what the hell is she WEARING!

  • @djvbb12 Good grief, what difference does it make? Unless it was a burka, then it might be worth investigating!

  • Oh man. Eargasms all over the place! The piano riff in the intro of this song is utterly, haunting and beautiful.

  • I think you guys have kind of missed the point.

  • @December165 I agree. She's too sarcastic and witty to be wanting to really "bake a sugar cake"

  • Nellie McKay is the greatest.

    Beautiful

    Talented

    Vegan

Nellie, I'll marry you, call me.

  • She's so beloved, everybody talks about wanting to marry Nellie. She's a very special talent. Extraordinary belle of the dreamers ball, here's to hoping she meets her soul-mate and gets her dream life for eternity. She's real, and she deserves it.
