  • Can some give me a link where you can learn Elvish (Sindarin)..?

  • @ZeekeKun I would also appreciate some links! I've been looking around, but there seems to be a lot of inconsistency and no active forums for any practice nor community :c

  • I have never seen anything nerdier in my entire live.

    brohoof!

  • I don't think you could put more nerd in here.

  • I don't think you could put more nerd in here than there already is.

  • I don't think you could put more nerd in here than there already is.

  • Even though I'm kinda new to the MLP-meme thing, this is an AWESOME idea, and I'd be willing to do voices in Sindarin. I can't speak the actual language, but I CAN pronounce it, and if someone else is willing to do translations, I can provide voices :P

  • Tolkien... and Ponies.

My nerd juice... is all over the walls.

  • @kelestra If they do, it's translation would be closer to "camaraderie"

  • 0:10

    "Brony"?

  • What now, Na'vi?

  • @pkLipe /watch?v=DiKQ7EB9lJ4 :P

  • Ok I wasn't expecting THIS to happen.

But I love it so much xD

  • i just nerdgasmed

  • And now we need to hear it in the Black Speech. Hey, if you can remember the Rankin & Bass animated Tolkien specials/movies, those orcs really had some rhythm.

    Seriously though, this is amazing..

  • ...wat.

  • Someone sing in Unitology?

  • All we need to do now is make a Klingon version and we'll have reached a completely new level of nerdity.

  • Jesus... how nerdy can one person get? I didn't even know Elvish exsisted. (But still epic though, hahaha.)

  • Neat. Now someone just needs to do it in Klingon.

  • @CharginChuck @CharginChuck Assuming, of course, that the word "friendship" HAS a direct Klingon translation. ;-)

  • @CharginChuck

    ...

    CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.

  • ... One thing I do know however is the Tengwar and I can tell that you are not using any of the Sindarin modes. It looks a lot more like the mode you'd use for Quenya. It's still possible to read though ("In iuitho an ind man gwend lothron na" or something like that). There are lots of applications out there that'll do the roman to tengwar transcription for you or just ask me and I'll help you.

  • @TasnuArakun Yeah....

It is veeery roughly translated and since my Tablet is broke, I wrote the text that you see with a mouse. So it's not the best. I'm still learning more every day though! I'll release some more stuff when I'm a little better and maybe even redo this one, thanks for the input. (For anyone looking for lyrics, they're in the description)

  • So awsome! /)^3^(\ I tried teaching myself some Quenya a few years ago but never managed to get very far. I'm always equally impressed every time I encounter someone who had the devotion to actually master one of Tolkien's languages. ...

  • Lyrics? In the comments? Please?

  • This... is probably one of the dorkiest things I have ever witnessed... and it's glorious.

  • Darnassian [Night-Elf] please XP

  • Are you saying "brony" at 0:09?

  • I respect what your doing and I find this very funny, but still.... NERDS!

  • This is full of win!

  • One Does not Simply TROT into MORADOR!

  • Amazing, I've always wanted to try learning elvish

  • It's four in the morning. I'm eating chocolate pudding while watching this...

And even then, my brain hurts.

  • @Zarkanorf It's four in the morning. Why are you making chocolate pudding?

  • Oh please oh please find some girls willing to dub an episode in Sindarin. I would love to see conversational Sindarin or any other Tolkien language in a show.

  • Next up: Sindarin dub for episode 1?

  • @Mercurius314 If only I had female friends.... wait...

Will my Girlfriend leave me if I ask her to voice an elvish version of My Little Pony?

  • @Mercurius314 I'M MAKING IT HAPPEN DAMNIT. Now I just need to find female Bronies.

  • Wait, so elvish is actually a writeable, speakable, functional language?!

  • @SoulSilverIV More or less, yes.

  • @SoulSilverIV Linguistics was a hobby of Tolkien's. He invented languages the way we make youtube videos.

Shwabadi, I'd love to see the text of the Sindarin you came up with, and what it means in English. That is awesome!

  • @SoulSilverIV After a fashion. It takes a lot of effort to get certain subjects expressed, because Tolkein wasn't interested in having his elves talk about them. And there is a limited vocabulary of "official" words. Some things need to be reconstructed from roots hidden in some of the periphery material published posthumously.

A Quenya version might be possible as well. I'm just waiting for Klingon, Na'vi, Dothraki and Esperanto MLP Themes. :D

  • @VulpineFury I've made a Na'vi version: /watch?v=DiKQ7EB9lJ4

    Excuse my terrible singing :P

  • @SoulSilverIV I wouldn't be that surprised, appearently klingon is aswell.

  • holy hell

  • i'm :O as hard as i've ever done before
