I think I need one of these... My M&P 45 has been sitting in the safe dirty for months because I was only in the mood to clean one gun. You would think this would be a no no because water could stay in the smallest nook if not dried correctly and rust your piece.
@BadWolf8333 It is a great question. With the heater on the ultrasonic cleaner the parts come out SUPER hot and dry very quickly. Nevertheless, I still give all the nooks and crannies plenty of oil and then spray them out with the air compressor to make sure no water is left at all. So, yes, I do oil the firing pin channel.
@MyLATim No, I haven't. That would probably work too though. They come out really hot and the water evaporates really fast because of that. I just get paranoid that some little bit of water might be stuck somewhere.
Great video Matt - I would like to see how clean a patch runs through the barrel after this process! Would also be curious to see how it works on reloading brass in a future video.
@Castleknight Nope. Just dry your parts and give them a coat of oil. At a training event I talked to a guy that did a lot of sport shooting with his Glock. He told me he and his wife clean their Glocks in the dishwasher. I thought he was joking at first. I wouldn't do that personally, I don't want any residue on my coffee mug. But he learned that from others and says he doesn't have any issues at all. That cleaner is meant to do this too.
Great Quality Matt

@CaFFeineSouLja It saves me so much time that I can spend a few minutes with the air compressor making sure every little corner gets dried and lubed.

@Mattsplat1975 i guess i need an air compressor too then... gives me an excuse to buy one lol

@CaFFeineSouLja I love buying tools. I look for any excuse. Harbor Freight has some good deals.

Excuse the stupid question, but do you need to put a light coat of oil in the firing pin channel, or do you just let it dry out?

@Mattsplat1975 Have you ever tried skipping the air compressor and placing them in an oven at low temperature?

@TNGlockman It is super handy. I have fanatical about clean guns so this saves me hours of scrubbing and picking with the nylon scraper-tool.

I guess the water doesn't create rust problems?
