@hetrickaj Hello, this is offcourse not a pro guitar, but it's a nice guitar for this cheap price. When you are a starting guitar player, it can be your first guitar to start with.
@blakeplaysbass Hello, just try it in the store, I do like the way it plays. It's not a pro guitar, but its plays very good. I can recommend it every starter.
I'm really taking buying the Evo into consideration but, I do have the Dean Vendetta XM1 already though... although by watching this preview, I agree that it's a longing necessity.
ive had one of these..i got it for christmas back a few years ago ..it wasnt a bad guitar bud had alot of issues with the feedback and the buzzing when its plugged into an amp with any distortion on at all..good for a beggenier on a tight budget but deff not a long term guitar and not if you have the money to buy somthing better.. beats some of the starter guitars out but still just you get what you pay for honestly
@3000biches honestly the dean evo may be cheaper but i can tell you from experience ive had one and right now i have an even cheaper knock off of a squire strat that i found in the garbage that actually sounds better then an xm sounds out of the box ..seriously..it sounds good him having it plugged into the comp but straight out of the box hooked up to an amp it sounds like crap alot of buzzing and alot of feedback with no tone control with any sort of gain at all put on the amp..
@3000biches Just trade my squier (in my guitar videos on my channel) for a Dean EVO XM and DAMN was it a nice move (at least I think, it looks a lot better though you can't put a Tremolo bar on)
@j020989 its not worth buying to replace your stratt..trust me..you think it would be with the dual humbuckers but in all actuallity striaght outta the box its deff not worth it..it takes money and taking it to a shop to get it to play and sound better..it can sound better then a squire if your looking for the dual humbucker sound of course but both of the two right outta the box the squire sounds better honestly..
wow it actually held up great under distortion, its 63$ on amazon, and im considering getting it for practice, i have a much better ibanez though. thanks for the video
this was the first guitar I bought new. For the money it's great, most low-end guitars try to look pretty--the Dean Evo's focus on playability instead of looks. Love the neck on them too, only problem mine has is one of the saddles tends to pop on string bends--but hey, a brand name bridge can cost nearly as much as the whole guitar.
@halofifa: I'd recommend this for anyone looking to spend $150 for an electric. With a decent amp or pedal you should be able to get some metal tones out of it, but it's really best for the value. When you're willing to spend more then you should look into a used Schecter, they're the best guitars for the money and they have lots to offer in the metal vein.
@LeukeGast im not a starter but im looking for a cheap guitar to play with my band im thinkin bout an sg or lespaul but idk yet i have adean vendetta but my band hastwo tunings so which should i buy
i have the clearcoat evo i need practice badly but thats amazing i never thought an evo would sound so good that vox tone lab is a beast the best gear i got is a 75 watt spider3 and a schecter c1 fr any tips?
good luck, if you are going to repaint it im warning you the finish is extremely hard to remove, i tried many chemical pain strippers and none of them worked so i had to sand it off...
except mine is color more like brownish and its easy and comfortable to use(i think) i really liked it and think i got mine at a pawn shop, it was used
Haha, got the very same guitar. I am using it for low tunings like Drop A or Standard B. Imo it's really fine for the price it costs. Allthough i wouldn't recommend this guitar to anyone who would also save up money for a better guitar (like an Ibanez RG).
dude my grandpa gave me this exact same guitar and when i play it, my fingers turn black from neck paint or something and it is almost always going out of tune. iunno. maybe mine just sucks
ohh damn.......i got mine loaded with 12-52's.......the neck seems to be ok, although it does get scary when tuning up that low E.....tuners aren't optimal......
Hey man. I play some screamo. Would your recommend this guitar for music like that. ((Some examples of screamo are Chiodos and I Set My Friends on Fire))
hey dude i play mostly metal type stuff metallica, megadeth, even as i lay dying, all that remains stuff. is this guitar good for shreading/sliding? does it have a thin neck. the pickups i'm not so worried about because i will have them replaced prob. anyhoo. pleases answer back.
It's of course not an professional guitar for this price. But it is a very good guitar for a cheap price. If you don't mind to tighten some screws, I recommend to use some glue in the screws of the plug-in. Maybe some small adjustment to lower the strings..
But the good new is, The playability of this guitar is very good, Shreding is no problem. The neck is thin, very good and fast. I recommend to use only 0.9 size strings. I don't think you need to change the pickups, the pickups are very good, there is really no need to change them.
im trying to decide between the fender squire bullet or the dean evo or the dean vendetta xm and cand decide anyone hav any suggestions?? (all perty cheap)
the dean evo xm bass is also awesome!

what are you talking about? the vendetta is made from cheap ass asian paulownia while the evo is basswood.
paulownia is much softer and has much less tonal resonance then basswood.

Guitarninjaruy 3 years ago
Probably no to both of those. Maybe after a good setup.
ItzAmazingBrian 3 years ago
ohh, so I usually play on 0.10 strings. But would that work if you change the tuners? or do you have to change both the tuners and bridge?
Guitarninjaruy 3 years ago
I only use 0.09 strings, I think the neck is not strong enough for 0.10 strings.
but the tuners are okey of this guitar, but use some oil on the bridge and the top to make the strings glide.
When u play live I recommend to put some glue in the screws of the guitar plugin.
But I like this guitar still alot, and I recommend it. Test it at your local store.

If you want to play on 0,09 size strings, and you don't have a problem to tighten some screws, I recommend this guitar.
I advice you first to try the guitars and then decide.
But I am still impressed on the playability of this guitar.
The action is very low, and I adjusted the strings lower, without any fret buzz.
