No one wants a vehicle that is made to suck more money out of their pockets @ leat that the choice i want. its not planned obsolescence that made the ev1 fail. Its profits and greed. Ever heard the quoit (Shits roles down hill?) Well the shit started with Oil companies, then government incentives to buy bigger gas burning vehicles, (F3000, Ram 3million, lazy hummer and excursion) then the ignorance of the uninformed public about electric drive vehicles. EV1 was a great car that would have last.
I've worked on cars since the late 70's and I'm here to tell you GM could of made money on the EV1 on parts.
brakes, barrings, shocks, struts, rotors, seals
well you get the picture it was there on ignorance & arrogance that there in the shape there in & I don't feel a bit sorry for them ( I feel sorry for all the workers) but it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another GM product!
hybrid and crybabys should fuckoff. get a fucking job in an electric car factory or service. the number of different types of all electric vehicles will make up the job loss. quit your crying. the EV-1 was a beautiful machine. GM killed it because they are absolutly idiotic in every way.
I'm sure the mechanics wouldn't mind working on a clean car. Everything breaks down eventually. If anything, the hand degreasers would go out of business also. They're will still be a need for new tires and wheel alignments for the EVs. But you still made a convincing video..
So much fear, so much uncertainty, but there are no conspiracies! Believe it! There are no conspiracies. Everybody tells me that. Everybody can't be wrong. Zig Heil!
Um, daddyfink. After they changed the batteries to NiMH batteries, these cars worked FINE. Gm didnt spend money to prove they didnt work, they spent money to undermine the entire project, to "prove" there was no public desire for electric cars.

Well, they had a bad habit of catching fire in garages during charge ups. The batteries where a eco mess when they went bad, that is a lot of lead to dispose of. GM lost tons of money to prove that it would not work. In the end there where only a handful still running. Until battery tech gets better, this will not work.

adequate technology was around back then, they just didn't use it until the second gen. and it's gotten even better since then.
