It's just a little pluck/hammer on/pull off/pluck based around the top two strings of a C#m chord.

Fx = Fret. e or b = string H = hammeron P = Pulloff

Yes it's a retrofit. I don't have any problems with it staying in tune and you shouldn't have as long as you have it fitted by a proper luthier.

The sound is tremophase i.e. a mixture of tremolo and phaser, which comes from a pedal, a Redwitch Moon Phaser.
