  • @PhasmataJ What? There are far more Heterosexual than homosexual people in this world, and he was doing a quick example of a love story. Don't pick prejudice and inequality out of every bloody thing.

  • So... Protagonist is in initial situation - Goes to hell - Comes back a changed person... THE EN:D

  • im gonna write a script about you helping people write scripts

  • @Alexraz01 Scriptception

  • He spelled farm wrong. lol he spelled Form in ACT 2

  • @dgbiz07 Actually he spelled "from"

  • Guys this formula is okay to use if you never written a script before. But remember that many masterpieces are what they are because they break from these generic rules. Never plan out a story. Let the characters guide you. Because it is not the story that makes it happen, its that characters that push it. And you have to respect the character more than the story. If he/her doesn't want to do certain things you planned than don't make him/her.

  • This is the most helpful video I've ever seen from expert village.

  • @dylan0391 so am I!

  • That's a good idear.

  • I wanna write a slasher movie script what format will I have?

  • @dylan0391 No matter what ur writing, thriller, horror, actions, etc, The Three Act Structure is the format which is ACT I, ACT II & ACT III. Act I: The Beginning, Pages 1-30 Inciting incident, & by near to page 30. Plot Point 1. Act II: The Middle, Pages 31-90 Top-midpoint, far, near to 90 plot point 2. Act III: The End, Pages 91-120 Continue plot point 2, near 120 Climax. It can be more that 120 pages, but scripts r generally 100-120. This format also used for novel writing. Hope it helps U x

  • @Bajekitty thank you for taking the time to answer my question you were very helpful

  • you all are funny on here, very nice video and simply said :)

  • why does someone has to lose something O.o

  • @chilibilly18 Usually the part between Act one and Act two is the 'point of no return'

  • @dasetman how misleading....

  • You should do voice over work

  • @jad3948 lol yea he seems like he would be great at it

  • this man needs to have a radio show

  • @MrSwordfish8 if he did, lots or people would listen lol

  • So in simple terms it's the timeline of the film:)!

    Cheers Bud!

  • I knew that when I was like 8 years old

  • I tried to write listening to this, but I couldn't divert my senses from his wonderful voice.

  • A good method for writing screenplays if you don't have ideas is to write about your characters, then build a story around them.

  • I agree......I was totally into this..but as the clips began to jump and skip I lost the flow and went searching for other Script writting vids

  • Act 1: Girl meets boy

Act 2: Boy humps girl repeatedly.

    hahahahahahaha

  • Actually, you can go like this: Act 1: a girl has a problem. Drug problem, job problem, pregnancy problem, you name it. So, she has to face it. Act 2: she meets a boy. Any guy. He doesn't even know what the problem is. But he has to "represent" a side into the problem. And she must face her problem: but also has to make a space for this silly boy. Act 3: What do your character WANTS? Ha! Nobody cares! The point is... what do your character NEEDS?

There you go. Write out loud.

  • @xxTeutonicKnightxx My father had been drinking when he found out about me being gay. He threatened to kill me dead. So it really wouldn't have mattered either way. I still would have been un-evolved. Not laughing about that one. And not everyone is the same. I was attempting to point out how traditional media/Hollywood are when creatings stories to reflect society. It is easy to fall into a mold. It is hard to create a new one to reflect a more balanced view of life through artistic expression.

  • @jesseshulman he sure let himself go... No wonder hes doing bbc documentaries..

  • Do you guys know any agency where you can send your script?

  • this isn't correct i took a screen writing class at my uni last quarter. This is a VERY basic out line of the 3 act structure. he also failed to mention the 17 min point. midway point , low point etc.

  • he is explaining for beginner.

  • Hi Ron, Thanx for the vids. 5*s and favs. I have one question thus far. My story is going to be in sequals... I have so much going on in it ...Must the format for movie scripts always be only 3 acts? I need 6 acts at least just for the first sequal.

  • Absolutely outstanding Ron you took something that seems to be so complicated and made it simple. You should teach classes in person. (Someone out there get this Wonderful Teacher in an Auditorium filled with hungry student that want to learn now to write a script keeping it simple) The way you present How To Write a Movie Script is excellent Thank you Ron for taking the time! Youre a Rock Star!

  • what kind od farm? my friend lives on a chicken farm

  • spell check...

  • of. sorry successful lady

  • this video sucks assholes and elbows

  • Excuse me...Is this how you were brought up to talk to someone who is taking the time to educate you...You probably had the same attitude in school...

  • The notebook is the perfect example for this

  • How the F*ck Can u lose a farm?

  • Easy you're just telling a story.

Then you hire the Production Studios and then the actors. You write the story and then you can lose the farm. All in 3 simple steps.

  • What like your mom?

  • but my story doesn't have the characters win in the end...what am I suppose to do there?

  • you should probably work on Act 2 to help it develop and bring more sense to why they will lose at the end

  • just let them lose ^^

  • I've written a screenplay, where the main character achieves his goal in act three, however in the very last scene, I put a twist in, where he lost everything again, just more dramatically and intense, and I think it worked out quite well, people who have read the script seem to appreciate the ending..

  • That actually sounds like just the thing that I am going for! What is the story about?

  • the basic of the story, is about an ordinary troubled boy (act 1) who gets addicted to drugs (act 2), and finally gets clean again (act 3) and his life turns out to be better than it was in act 1. However I put a twist in the ending scene, where he gets killed for something stupid that he did in act 2. However this last scene is not a part of the movie-premise, it is just an extra scene to get a surprise ending, so I don't know if this scene will turn out well or be a catastrophy,

  • It actually says ''Farmer lose from''

and it can be seen at 1:56

  • tru u should get a mic to rec ur ideas

  • I WANT THIS GUY TO BE MY TEACHER!!!!

i seriously want to be a screenwriter SO BAD! i've got great ideas but immediately i start writing, i lose it...so annoying.

  • thnx man really worked

  • Hey, I'm working on a script for a movie that I will post on my youtube channel, "The Orange and the Red". Check out the teaser trailer I made :)

  • I CAN DIG-IT!

  • I usualy write my story back ground, then i split it up into 10 different scenes.

Writing each scene no longer then 10 pages, and it usualy comes together in the end.

great information =D and sexxxy! voice :D.

  • Yes it is very good tutorial but actually you have a little mistake in your sentence there ..''farmer loses form'' shouldnt it be 'farm'? ...sry

  • The funny thing is, the word you are trying to correct is "from," but you wrote "form."

  • For the most part, true. Though the second act is more centered around a collapse, as opposed to a loss of something, at least as I've always seen it. And I've always found that Act 1 had always been about establishing the dreams and goals of a character as opposed to them "getting" something.

But those are just nitpicky things.

Anyway, very simplistic, which is a good thing.

  • so true in all it's simplicity!

  • slowly starts clapping...

slowly stands up and claps louder.
