according to Slash fan sites, the commercial originally aired in Australia in late 2000. the oldest kyle could have been would be 14, and considering it was originally filmed for the US and eventually shipped to Australia when deemed inappropriate, it's entirely possible it sat in the can in the states for a year or two.

bottom line, kyle is definitely not 17 here.

This was Mastercard's answer to the Pepsi "Jimi Hendrix" commercial that aired around the same time. It wasn't banned, but it didn't air too long, because Mastercard realized too late that the commercial was aimed at kids, who can't legally own a credit card.
