@jjones161 I think it's the weapon mentioned in the Empyrean Age book, where it's a piece of Jovian technology that causes a ship's shield to turn against itself and blow up against the ship.

@SakuraMaxx That was from the book; the Abby was piloted by Jamyl Sarum and her personal guard (the Apocs) and the weapon was actually Earth tech that the Amarr had secretly recovered from wreckage at the EVE gate, not Jovian. But yeah, it turned the ships shields against itself.

The Siris still is Terran. It is from the time where the EVE gate was first discovered in the Milky way. The Blood Raiders, or Angels cartel, one of them, unburied it. It uses Isogene 64 as ammo I think.

You are partially right. The woman that became the Empress of the Amarr empire used a secret weapon to destroy the Minmatar Elder Fleet. The scene there I believe is the resulting attack. If you check out info on Jamyl Sarum, it talks about it. Of course, this is all in game lore, and no such weapon can be wielded by players.

Thats the Abbadon piloted by Jamryl Sarum (sp?) If you read the Empyrian Age novel by Tony Gonzalles it tells you that its a Terrain weapon of mass destruction salvaged by a fanatical Amaarian religious faction from an ancient hanger in deadspace... the novel ties up the loose ends in the storyline really well if you play EVE I thoroughly recommend it.

also WoW takes huge preparation, exspecially arena PVP. You cant just play 1 month and reach the best braket, you will need to train ALOT longer.

But atleast you can indeed become the best of the best, wich is not the case in eve because the race is over long time ago =)

no, EVE takes even more preparation, for fleet PVP at least. And it takes BRAIN to properly fit and fly a ship. And you can't just play a month and become the best in EVE, in fact, after a month you are still a rather new player.

And in EVE you still can become the "best of the best" even if you start now.

Skill for me is something that comes with alot of playing and preparation.

Let me take an example from the WoW world wich is like the most: By leveling a Char to 80 you dont need to have to be very good, it just comes by playing. You will create knowledge about the game. Further more if you level you next 80 you will be able to level him much faster.

So in comparison with Eve, if you read alot of Guides and Forum's, get help from Friends who play the game alot, you get knowledge

But what matters is, that in the actual FIGHT of eve, you could explain to a friend what to do, and HE could do it without any knowledge of the game.

If you would try to let that person play Arena PvP in Wow, he wouldnt be able to even score once, because the Fight system is much more complex then in Eve ( MOVEMENT WISE )

In an eve fleet battle, you just have to get at a certain distance from your enemey ( one lick )

Target ( Another click ) and fire your weapons, and thats it.

The fights have a much bigger impact in EVE, and are a lot more complexes. Everything in EVE is connected; the economy, the wars, the politics, etc.

In WoW, you merely fight in the arena because that's all you can possibly do.

You have no idea on how fast-paced the combats can be in EVE

Well until the very last part it was all in game engine. The issue if which are you using the classic or the new engine. The other part is they cut graphics in some empire systems from lag issues. Think of these graphics in Jita? Can you afford the lag?

Incase you want anti-aliasing, I got the answer for you if you have an Nvidia card.

Download the Nhancer software, select eve from the games list, and go to the "compatibility" tab. There select the "00000045" engine from AA compatibility tab. Then scroll down and select "high dynamic range", enable it. This way you get both HDR and AA for eve.
