I did not have any problems in running Windows Vista. Time with Vista were really cool. I liked it. Windows 7 is awesome, yes, but Vista was not even close to that, what everybody said. I would like that the next Windows will be like W7, but it would give us gamers something also. Because there is a lot of space for improvments for us gamers.

wtf are you guys talkin about? nvlddmkm error????????' wtf is that? i'm a vista user and have nvidia graphics cards and never encountered that error....and the games all run on max....anyway i want win7 because i have only ONE vista prob. i always select disable in network and sharing center when i don't use the net and sometimes it doesn't disable it and if i click restart it doesn't do it! i don't know why so i always have to hit the reset button on my pc when it does that and i don't like it.

It came with Vista. i finally installed XP over it and now it works great.

ALL versions of vista even with 3gigram and great specs make stuff "stop responding" mostly games. but windows 7 is coming out so start talking about that because Vista is already dead.

vista isn't so bad, I got basic and I CAN game. It just took a while for vista to release some updates, which goes without saying. All major OS launches were buggy at the start but are pretty great now a days.

Uh, Windows Vista is very shiny and pretty, but all this effects you can do with Aero I can do with Linux + Compiz Fusion, and I don't need a 400$ expensive OS and a high graficcard. The only reason why to buy Vista is Directx 10 and thats just for gamers, so buisness-people can live without Vista.

I use Windows Vista™ Home Premium on my HP Pavilion tx1000. It has a built-in graphics card yet it displays the Aero interface beautifully with no performance issues whatsoever.

You should try enabling it - right-click on desktop, then on Personalize. Then select Windows Color and Appearance. Select 'Open classic appearance properties for more color options'. Under Color Scheme, select 'Windows Aero'.

If its not available, it can mean two things - you're running Home Basic or its your GPU.

There are loads of hidden stuff such as, if you want to rename a file windows only highlights the text and not the extention e.g. .AVI or .TXT. With flip 3D not many people know that you can use the scroll wheel on you mouse and also click on any of the windows to bring it to the front. You only need a 128mb 6800xt AGP video card Like me for it to run very well. But you will need about 2 gigs of ram and trust me, vista will be as stable as any MAC. MAC's do crash and have BSOD's as well.

The funny thing about the 'bloatware' in Vista is that you can turn almost everything off. If you don't like a function, then don't use it or delete it. The gadget-bar, and any other thing that supposedly make Vista soooooo much slower you can just turn the fuck off.

Give vista ultimate x64 a try, I actually think it's extremely stable and most of this stuff about viruses etc is just scare tac-tics to get u to buy poorly written anti virus stuff. I have never used Virtual PC 2007 and I am not sure about 16bit programs but all 32bit programs should work. When you install a 32bit program windows creates a folder called "Program Files x86" then all 32bit programs will by default install into that folder.
