@badassredd1 it cud possibly be the lighting but also the make-up wud have dun that. i think they might hav been tryin to give her a brighter, more radient look. i personally think it looks really nice. im dark in complexion too and find wen i apply make up im a little lighter but most importantly my skin tone is even.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO and what a BEAUTIFUL model!!! I am never able to find makeup with the correct shade for my chocolate skin. (See my video to see EXACTLY what I'm talking about)! I would love to know if you ever send samples out. I know that where I live, we don't have the Iman shades (earth 6), that I would need. To think i've been using the darkest of the Maybelline Mineral liquid foundation (cocoa dark 3) thinking that was the only foundation i could find closest to my skin complexion! I have a dark skin tone and it's always a pain in the you know what to try to find makeup suitable for me. I also have oily skin so I come out really shiny in pictures. I think this was a very informative video but I'm not quite sure if the makeup is right for me.

I agree with lovestone1993- the model did look better before, i like her natural look, her skin has nice glow to it. I dont wear much makeup, makes me look older/different person LOL. I get much compliment on my skin en in the winter seasons.

I love her skin's richness. I'm black but my skin has more of a redish undertone. Its very clay like but its dark, I've been told its exactly the color of Hershey's chocolate. Sounds like a good thing but finding a dark foundation that has a red undertone is hard; they seem to have more of a coffee appearance and end up being too dark. What about all the redish dark girls, true chocolates? I guess I'll have to settle for having like 3 foundations and 2 concealers to even out my skin tone.

Have tried Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation in 180? The color is described as dark with peach under tones. It is a god send for me as I also have red under tones. You can go to Sephora online or in the store to check it out and see if would be a good option for you.

i've been using iman foundation stick and i love it, she has so many shades and it doesnt break me out (i have oily skin)- my skin actually feels healthier. I WISH SHE WOULD POST MORE VIDEOS

Hey mschelly17 I have oily skin to and I find that after a while of wearing make up it starts to look unbelievably shiny. It's really bad actually. What would you suggest if anything or how do you combat it?

my skin does the same thing, some methods i use to combat this include using smashbox makeup primer (light) all over and a mattifying gel(peterthomasroth) on my nose. your skin may still appear to be a little shiny after a few hours but you shouldn't look like an oil pan or have that greaseslick effect

I have oily skin also, I would suggest using a blot powder on top of your foundations of any brand. The blot powder gets rid of the shine and oil. You could use a MAC blot powder on top of the Iman foundation to stop shine. Iman makeup is beautiful.

iman is a pioneer. i love her. also black women tend to look lighter with thier makeup done becasue we have 2toned skin and its recomned that we match our color to the lighter color cuz it tends to look more natural and in my experince i find that to be acurate.

I guess you're right... I'm mixed, so I can easily be as pale as a "typical" European and as dark as a South Asian, depending on lighting... and hey, I didn't notice, but even the background color is different from the before/after photo!

i have no idea why this happens but i know in the spring and autumn my skin is mostly lighter.

this summer my skin was lighter. but the most summer i am darker.people tell me i am beautiful darker so i use darker shade make up in the summer and lighter in autumn and spring.i kinda love being adaptable though.

lighter concealer is better for darker skin because in about 15 minutes or so it will oxidize and match the shade of the skin
