I am now expert on music or classical peices and what i know about instruments you could put on the back of a postage stamp. However this peice of music (which I first heard on the movie "The Mission" moved me to tears and touches something deep within my heart and soul. I wish I knew what the song was about. Anyway just sharing personal with you all about how this particular peice makes me feel. I hope it is not to much information as they say.
Today's my Mama's 2 Yr Death anniversary, I made a video with all her pictures and I wanted to let you know that I had converted your video to an mp3 file and used it. since a long time I do not reply any of the comments on this video; our experience has gone over and I feel so sad for that. But I need to answer at least to your question, for the many who listened to this piece and its soulful oboe.
Look at 0:50 and you will find the oboist you was looking for; his name was Giovanni Possenti and because of a cancer, we missed him in april 2010. And, yes, he was playing this piece, believe it or not. Thank you for this sonorous uploading and take greetings from Polish fan of Morricone's music.
THis version is the best version. This oboesolo is really haunting and give me chills in a really good way. The "Nella Fantasia" version can throw it self into the wall because that kinda destroyed one of the most beautiful oboesolos ever written into a song. I am sorry for el Maestro Ennio Morricone that was forced to accept to make this a song. He said no, because just like me and other, he understood the melodys role.... but a singer think it has to have words.

Speranza mal riposta.
@carbukoski what a stupid comment, you making it sound that Italians have only Mr. Morricone, mean while there are many Italians who greatly influenced evolvement of humanity...
@carbukoski that is good to know ~.~. I found it so funny because I always pictured Italians are all about mafiamen, pizza, AND SPAGGETI. Oh NO, also all the great opera and its singers are from ITALY--there you go!!! Am I right?
@beanpaste2009 Shut up. You are an example of the degeneration of modern society. Continue to shape your thoughts with prejudice. And if for people like you, I'm just a mafiamen, pizza and SPAGGETTI, well, then I'm proud of it. Oh sorry, also great opera and its singers come from my country. So, am I also right?
I love this song!!! I love how you put together the video, with the emotion showing on the faces of those in the orchestra.

This film clip makes a nonsense of lovely music! Most of the instruments shown are not even playing! Do you hear any trombones?
Is there even an oboe on stage? We certainly never see the player. If so, who is playing it, please?.... .... ....
Even the most banal director can use the rehearsal to find the player!

Speranza mal riposta.

@carbukoski what a stupid comment, you making it sound that Italians have only Mr. Morricone, mean while there are many Italians who greatly influenced evolvement of humanity...

@vonlubcke I speak not english...tu non hai capito il mio commento...sorry

@carbukoski that is good to know ~.~. I found it so funny because I always pictured Italians are all about mafiamen, pizza, AND SPAGGETI. Oh NO, also all the great opera and its singers are from ITALY--there you go!!! Am I right?
beanpaste2009 1 year ago
@beanpaste2009 Shut up. You are an example of the degeneration of modern society. Continue to shape your thoughts with prejudice. And if for people like you, I'm just a mafiamen, pizza and SPAGGETTI, well, then I'm proud of it. Oh sorry, also great opera and its singers come from my country. So, am I also right?

@Vodakron Well, sorry if I have offended you by setting "an example of degeneration of modern society"--didn't really mean to. Just go chill out.
