@jb26508 It isn't about politics. It's all about the dignity of the human person, something which transends the political divide and all national borders.
why doesnt anyone address the bottom line? and that is "fornication in america" it is the reason why abortion is so high and also the reason why std's are so high. if we make illicit sex illegal and encourage marriage with bases of justice between both parties it will end this disease. but people dont want a cure, they just wanna treat the symptoms.
@imreadyyo26 I hope you're joking. Making extramarital sex illegal will not solve anything. Has making drunk driving illegal stopped everyone from doing it? No. Does the illegality of murder stop people from committing homicide? Sometimes, but when people are intent on doing something, they'll do it.
The bottom line is not lack of laws but lack of education. The, "Don't have sex, or you will get an STD, and you will die," abstinence spiel from Mean Girls doesn't work. We need to teach Safe Sex
@LTM32893 your point is shallow. why would you make drunk driving illegal without making the crap there drinking illegal? you have to make the"source" illegal to actually have an impact on society. educating people on sex is not that helpful. we make sex too available for our youth thats the problem. there should be stronger laws against illicit sex. 2 kids would think twice if they knew the penalty was flogging. and we never seem to educate kids on getting married. only "how to have sex".
@imreadyyo26 "we make sex too available for our youth thats the problem."
That is not the problem. The problem is holy rollers who think that they are entitled to tell people what they should do in the bedroom. You need to stop living in fairy tale land and realize that, regardless of what you make illegal, people will still have sex. People get STDs because they have sex with people who have STDs without using protection, or their protection breaks because they don't know how to use it properly
@LTM32893 you dont have to be holy to accept the truth. the truth is sex is a natural instinct and if it is not controlled by the higher values of a people it can become a serious problem. we are not beasts that are supposed to have sex with whomever is willing. if we treated our civilization like our sex lives we would be like cavemen wearing pieces of leaves for protection. it is hypocritical to call our nation civilized and we cant even be truly civilized when it comes to sex.
@imreadyyo26 I don't deny the fact that people shouldn't "have sex with whomever is willing." I do, however, deny that there should be LAWS against sex prohibiting it under penalty of fines, incarceration, or corporal punishment. That is what happens in what we largely perceive as uncivilized nations like Saudi Arabia. I also deny the last two sentences of your argument seeing as you have no proof and there is no reason to base a nation's civility on their gov'ts involvement in their sex lives.
@LTM32893 and its people that lived in a fairy tales that changed our world because they believed what was considered impossible and just too far out. i dont live in your matrix of condoms that allow you to live out your worldly fantasies with jane. i say again. we are not beasts. here is my solution. seek a wife with pure intentions. get to know the family and her. then court her with a relative to keep her honor in tact. then if you like her get married. if she likes you. "civilized"
@imreadyyo26 I honestly am not trying to sound rude, but there is no other way to put this: your proposition is deluded and foolish. Call me a cynic, but I don't know how you can truly know if someone has "pure intentions." Call me crazy, but courtship is supposed to be a time when two people become intimate and learn about each other--adding a third wheel will muck it up and make it uncomfortable. I don't live in your matrix of pick-and-choose pseudobiblical morality, and am glad of it.
@LTM32893 the fact that you feel uncomfortable with another person shows your true intention. it shows that you would rather be in seclusion with someone so you can be the perve you want or talk about issues that dont need to be talked about yet. your not supposed to be getting intimate on the first or second date. you should be discussing real issues about each other. not "your so pretty" what size is your breast" and all the nasty things people say when left alone.
@imreadyyo26 It shows nothing of the sort. That is an absurd leap, untrue, and an ad hominem argument. When you're with people, friends, cousins, whatever, you don't want Big Brother there to listen to everything you're talking about, even if it is an extremely mundane topic.
@LTM32893 attractive male and female who are strangers to one another, alone by themselves is a breeding situation technically. lets state the facts that we can observe through history. this is why sex on the first date is a big issue in america. it doesnt matter how civilized the man is. he will have lustful thoughts if left alone with an attractive female. so it is important to have a relative to accommodate both parties. it helps to keep there indecent thoughts from materializing. lol
its sad that some people have no respect for human life.. im catholic and im so happy and comfortable in my life knowing that. So many haters on Christianity but if only people could truly understand what christianity is about.
"If you're going to say your catholic, say what the catholic church teaches." Cause we all know that the catholic church always goes by their teachings. the church is in no position to condemn people for not following their teachings when they can't even keep their priest's from molesting children. Also it should be noted the majority of catholic's voted for Obama in the 2008 elections... meaning if the catholic church wants to keep their followers a.k.a income they should get with the times.
Many leave the Church because they choose to follow their own opinions and world view rather than the teachings of Christ. No one who prays daily, attends The Mass and receives the Sacraments frequently, and reads Scripture could agree with such an erroneous outlook. The fact is most Catholics today do not observe or believe what The Church has taught and believed for 2000 years. In essence, they are not truly Catholic.
People like Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi, who support abortion, and go to catholic mass must be thrown out. And don't give me that crap about the catholic church being pedophiles because studies show that for every 1 catholic accused of pedophelia, 10 other protestant clergy men are also accused. Anti catholicism is the biggest accepted bigotry today. I wish people would notice that if they treated jews or blacks the same way they did us, for some reason it becomes unfair. total BS
The slavery argument is bs, you can choose if you want an abortion or not. Pro-choice lets you make that call. being “pro-life” is forcing your values on others.
This is not democratic, nor is it allowed in an republic.
Don’t believe the Canadian? I read James Madison's the federalist no. 10. I’m simply saying what your founding fathers wrote.
@NightHawkBomber001 "being pro-life is forcing your values on others". I don't see this as imposing one's views on others. What we call as pro-life values is applicable to all human beings since these values are basic truths. When pro-lifers "impose" their belief on others, they are just reminding that they too are bound to follow the truth.
I wonder if this pastor is just ignorant or if he is purposefully misleading (2:54 & 4:35)
Newsflash: The United states is not a direct democracy, It is a republic democracy.
It has been set up with a constitution so that individual rights are respected and no factions can impose their values on all the citizens. Hence the separation of church and state.
catholics care about what the catholic church says. when pelosi aligns herself with the catholic church and its principles, and then publically goes against such principles it obviously suggests that she is misrepresenting catholic people and their beliefs. it has nothing to do with democracy or theocracy. it is only to do with someone who is trying to align herself with something that she is actually polar opposite to. she is misleading 'fellow' catholics. i'm protestant btw.
@cittiavaticano "PAUL calls himself the spiritual Father to the Christians." Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount commands "call no man father." So who should define Christianity, Jesus or Paul?
@wagzel So you read Mt 23:9 literally. Meaning that you disregard the 4th commandment, as well as Mt 5:17, Mt 23:32, and a host of others. In reality, He was telling us that no leader may set up his own interpretation of the Catholic faith and seek followers for his opinions. The multitude of Protestant denominations is a continuing example of this, yet they use this verse as a club simply because they use the term Reverend instead of father. I suggest the catholic com entries on priests.
@crazyassailant “use the term Reverend instead of father” I agree rev is a transparent workaround. Mine is not a strict interpretation but an appreciation of a sermon, the trump sermon, that commands no public prayer, man as father, and introduces the Lord’s Prayer. It’s a denial of hierarchy in faith. Certainly if calling a man father is out, ring kissing is out.
they teach grown man how to touch kids and get away with it, clear up the child molesters in the church, shows you they dont care about you when your older, they fight for rights for the unborn but than put the priest higher than us,the pope protects child molesters but no nacy is evil for her views, the pope hurt more people than her,
I don't understand why anyone would listen to someone who's advice and actions include covering up pedophiles and not using condoms in an epidemic. That'll get your kid molested and you AIDS.
Haha what would Jesus do? Funny I remember some passages where he verbally admonishes people, and kicked out of the temple those who desecrated her with dishonor. Yea, Pelosi is not Catholic at all.
How many thousands of children were raped and molested by the priest ?
How many bad priests were sent to jail ?I know, in US many victims families got paid to keep quiet and the priest got relocated.
The pope just said that he will cooperate with the authorities(BBC).Pope, you should show us you are not one of them. You should have done this the first day you were selected. The pedophile priests believe that they've got best friend in Vatican. That is why many of Catholics left the churches.
How many humans are murdered each year due to abortion?? 39 million!! thats the population of Spain being murdered every year. Thats why many people leave secular life to become Catholic. Blame the priests for there actions, and even the church but, the Catholic faith in no way supports child molesters.
@slavicman09 I agree with you that Catholic faith doesn't support the molesters. What I see is the church officials try to sweep it under the rug and protect the pedophiles.I start to see some change now, thank God !
Since the pope 's not going to answer me,can you explain why the Vatican is against methods of birth control so they can avoid abortion?
@somsom007 The pope is one of them, he protected pedophiles before he became pope. His brother is one of those who was abusing and molesting school boys. The vatican is a corrupt wicked institution full of fascists, commies, queers, satanists and about every other type of undesirable.
The pope clearly doesn't belive in equal rights for all people, since he covered up the systematic rape and torture of children within the catholic church. Instead of alerting the police to paedophiles, he covered for them and allowed them to rape again. So the pope in his own words and actions doesn't believe in the equal rights of children.
If Roe vs Wade vs Wade is unconstitional in the first place, then it's not. What about life and liberty? Does that only apply to humans outside the womb, only the ones you can physically see? So murder is legal inside a woman's body but not outside? Cmon! If rape was constitutional, even if you didn't agree with it, you'd allow it because it's the constitution? Cmon! if women have a choice to decide what to do with their own body, why can't they shoot up drugs, smoke weed, kill themselves, etc?
@greenhorns99 I agree. O Reilly talks as though Roe Vs Wade is PART of the Constitution! Roe Vs Wade isn't a law it's an OPINION based on the faulty assumption that the child in the womb is not a person. The child in the womb IS A PERSON which flushes RVW down the toilet where it belongs. Roe Vs Wade is not part of the Constitution, it's in direct contradiction of the 14th amendment, which promises equal protection of laws for all persons.
@burkardhanis I don't understand why she has not been ex-communicated. How can a Catholic possibly be allowed to disagree with Our Holy Father to his face?
@ModerateGuy738 I'm not a canon lawyer, but the canons say anyone who procures, or MATERIALLY helps someone procure, a direct abortion is automatically by that act excommunicated. Once could argue, the votes for funding and not limiting, when possible, the ability to procure a direct abortion, Pelosi has materially helped some procure a direct abortion, and is thus excommunicated herself.
I believe abotion,in general, is wrong but I will never condemn women who did it.There are situation that abortion is better choice for them in certain circumstances.
My problem with the Vatican is that they prohibit bithbcontrol methods, pills, tubal ligations, etc.I don't see any thing contradicts Christ's teaching.I think they get their heads in the sand and are blind ! I pray that God open the pope's eyes and change the policy. That's why many leave the church.
@supawanich00 The Church opposes any strategy that fornicators use to skirt the consequences of their fornication and any strategies they use to destroy the child that is conceived because of their choices. This is wholly consistent with Christ's explicit condemnation of fornication and his teachings about the sanctity of bringing human life into the world.
@supawanich00 The policies only apply to married people, and they have their basis in Jewish and Natural Law. They also can be found in non-biblical texts that come from the first century of the Church's existence. People leave because they prefer the wide door to the narrow gate.
@supawanich00 In fact, many leave the church because it does not change. The church does not change because it is not supposed to change. also, the Roman Catholic Churches position on any birth control chemicals or tools is that using them will and always will be killing an innocent, which is a mortal sin. Besides, the Pope can not simply change the teaching. It must be approved by many educated individuals with decent, hard, physical evidence which supports birth control. This does not exist...
@RidgeofEternity I agree with you that killing a fetus or baby is sin.Prevention of fertilization by using pills, condom, tubal ligation, vasectomy don't kill any living being. To my knowledge,Christ never prohibit such practice.I strongly believe that one day the Vatican will wake up and support the birth control methods.
@supawanich00 I'm sorry, but no reasons will make that a reality. Even if the acceptance of birth control (chemical or otherwise) will go into the Vatican, there will always be a purging of it to return it to the way it was. The Roman Catholic Church faithful supports itself, without the aid of others. Already, orthodoxy is finding its way back into the RCC, worldwide. Even if the RCC changes in america, england, france or even russia, there will always be another part of the RCC to restore it.
@supawanich00 Jesus said, "I AM the Truth" not "the custom." Of course people will leave the Church - it is sometimes hard to do what She commands and we've grown lazy!
@supawanich00 no one condemns women who had abortions, and killing an inocent baby is never a good choise. Birth control is intrinsically evil because it makes objects of the users, and promotes deseases etc. The contradiction is God ordered Adam and eave to multiply and be fruitful, not to abort and have fun.
@kurmx Birth control methods are not perfect but they prevent millions of unwanted birth and abortion world wide.It help the couples to delay starting the family until they are ready.I am sad to see teen age pregnancy and neglected kids.If there is god,he/she would not want them to be killed by abortion and neglected.I don't think he want them to multiply when they are not capable to care for the innocent kids.Remember that many billion of us don't believe in god but believe abortion is wrong.
@deeppurple28 Don't rationalize murder with Bush. Just because he went to war and had people killed doesn't mean you can drop all morality and support the murder of millions of babies.
@ccrg109 Wait a minute what are you talking about? You see Conservatives will do anything they can to try to protect the fetus, but once its born they just might kill it! Yeah they just might kill it as soon as it turns 18 just like that idiot Bush when he sent thousands of young men and women to die for absolutely no reason! IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING YOU DOPES! As a matter fact, who do you think put Saddam Hussein in power??
@supawanich00 Or you could just practice abstinence. Or if you don't like waiting, then look up NFP. That is the only "birth control" that is supported by the Church.
A Church that bends to the will and reason of its 'members' is no Church I want to be in, I want a Church that is faithful to G-D and the Truth. not your truth...
@cittiavaticano I agree with you but the vatican makes and changes the "truth" .I have not seen any evidence that Christ ever forbid any one to utilize method of birth prevention, have you?
I think that avoiding unwanted pregnancies and prevent unborn babies from being killed by abortion is what Jesus wanted us to do,am I wrong ?
@supawanich00 Birth control is what started abortion becoming legal. Think of it this way: trying to prevent a pregnancy with pills, condoms etc. ....that fails.....oh i'm pregnant now lets just kill the baby. The Catholic church knew that abortion would eventually become legal if artificial contraception was accepted. Only a natural birth control method is allowed by the Church: Natural Family Planning.
@supawanich00 You'll never condemn a woman or a doctor or a boyfriend for being responsible for the murder of an unborn child? I think you're the one who needs to pray to God for an eye-opening.
@Apollo5600 Do you believe and follow the statement "do not judge or you shall be judged".
I have my own opinion about killing the innocent fetuses and babies,to condemn the women, doctors boyfriends is to judge them,it is not my duty.
However,I think the Vatican can help reduce the abortion by being realistic by allowing the birth control methods.I don't think the wise and kindhearted Jesus will object to prevention of unwanted pregnancy,do you ?
@supawanich00 I know Jesus would not want someone to kill an innocent, child in the womb, or anywhere else. Don't try to take advantage of the great mercy of Christ as a licence for any immoral act that you wish to commit.
Any form of birth control changes the natural definition of what sexuality is. This is absolutely against natural law. Not a single chooses to have their own death. Only those who are born promote the murder of the unborn. Just as only the free promoted slavery.
@AdversusHaereses "Only those who are born promote the murder of the unborn."
That's like saying "Only those who aren't jellybeans promote the eating of jellybeans." The "unborn" cannot think, feel, or exist as their own independent entity. What they CAN do, however, is develop into people who say, "I'm glad my mother had the choice to give birth to me, and I love my mother enough that I wouldn't have wanted my birth forced upon her if it would have caused her suffering."
@gingerbreadcorpses Oh, ok. So you must be glad for a right that you have that your mother gave upon you. That is like saying 'Im glad my slaveowner freed me'. You have a natural right to life and from the moment of your own conception your genetic blueprint is written. 'The unborn cannot think, feel, or exist as their own independent entity'. Well tell me if babies can live on their own without their mother. And think? Well does that justify then killing those who sleep? They can't think then.
@AdversusHaereses Babies CAN live without their mother. ANYBODY can take care of a baby. A FETUS is directly dependent on another individual's body for continued growth, and lives inside that body. Killing a sleeping person without their consent is wrong because when people go to sleep, they do not automatically give consent to be killed.
@gingerbreadcorpses They do not give consent just like the unborn babies do not give consent. And from my point, I think you failed to miss it that babies cannot survive on their own. They still need to breastfeed with the assistance of someone else, usually and naturally it is the mother. So dependency does not finish at birth.
@AdversusHaereses Fetuses cannot consent to or protest anything. They have no consciousness. And I got your point: babies are dependent. But babies do not get created by mistake. When a mother gives birth, she has made her choice to have the baby and has decided she can care for it. Embryos get created by mistake all the time. And all human beings are dependent on others, to some degree or another. But only fetuses are directly dependent on and living inside someone else's person.
@gingerbreadcorpses Right so according to your logic only those who the parents chose to have are true babies. Great reasoning there eh? What about those neglected babies after birth? Are they not true babies?
Since when does the constitution give someone the right to kill anther human being? Abortion is deliberate killing of the unborn; this is a natural law. The fact this country allows murder is an abomination. God does not bless America; and He
never did. Our constitutions founder's were not men of God. Morris say's we have a republic form of government......Ha, it's not even a democracy.
I aborted at 14 and don't regret it one bit. Before anyone has the right to judge me, please watch my video, and tell me what you would have done in my position- abortion is not murder. A fetus is not a person. Abortion saves the lives of women- real thinking, feeling, breathing PEOPLE who can suffer, regret, get beaten, end up homeless, attempt suicide, grieve and be loved and missed.. a fetus is only a shell- you cannot love it as more than a concept of what is to come. Woman>fetus.
@ryddelwearsahat We are very different!! I DO REGRET GIVING THE OK TO KILL MY BABY WHEN I WAS 17. I MISS HIM, I LOVE HIM AND I ASK HIM FOR FORGIVENESS ALL THE TIME.
Only giving myself to God has helped me. The day you understand that baby was unique, yours and desperate looking for your protection.... that day search for God, for His compasion.
@FannyUR2008 I lost my faith in god years ago- I leanred that a god that cares for his children will not let them suffer- a parent protects, not neglects. If god is real, blame him for my choice to abort- blame him for not answering prayers to save me, for child services to take me away, to make my dad love, me, to give me the ability to NOT need to have an abortion. As far as I'm concerned, god is the devil himself- the bible the antichirst.
@dirtbagcatholics Why such a foolish statement? Keep an open mind and consider both the ills and the good works the Church has done. The institution has fed, housed, and educated millions! Please take your time to research and think about what you say online, such a statement could be seen as libel.
@JustOneMoreChild ?such a statement could be seen as libel??? You make this issue in this venue where the fabric of the discussion is as it is?
There is a Catholic Church made up of about a third to a half billion humans who act as Christians. And there is a Catholic Church that is made up of a power hungry institution. This institution cares only about wealth and power...and it aligns itself with the filthy rich and protects their power to rape the poor. They are in love with the G.O.P.
some people will get an abortion weather or not it is legal. that's why it's legal, so that woman won't get themselves killed getting illegal abortions. it has nothing to do with your religion, because this is a secular country, not a theocracy.

@2.30 & 2.50 personal should not distract from her/government official's representative duty on any issue! pro-choice is more practical anyway. speaking of protecting infants how 'bout from the cut of circumcision?
The State has not the right to leave every man free to embrace whatever religion he should deem true. The [Roman Catholic] Church has the right to require that the [Roman] Catholic religion shall be the religion of the State, to the exclusion of all others.Cursed be those who assert liberty of conscience and of worship and such that maintain that the [Roman Catholic] Church may not employ force. The Syllabus Errorum of Pope Pius IX (December 1864)
The pope obviously has no respect for the United States Constitution, which clearly says, "CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." History testifies of the papacy's artful and persistent efforts to insinuate herself into the affairs of nations; and having gained a foothold, to further her own aims, even at the ruin of princes and people. The people need to be aroused to resist this most dangerous foe of civil and religious liberty.
what gives the right for the pope to decide on abortion, when he and rome catholicism have been hiding molestation in their own chirch for years? maybe they just want to steel the innocents of more childern!!!
@digginya wow really your spelling fails and when you said "....rome catholicism have been hiding....." your grammar also fails. so i refuse to listen to any argument you could possibly think of
@pylonrequired7 you might not know how right you are! think of this for a minute, your mom kills your brother, then you learn that he would of became President if she didn't kill him! what happen to your brother's human rights?
She's doesn't even believe or stick up for the values of life taught by the church. She says she's catholic but doesn't represent the faith in her own worldview and sadly many of other Catholics think like her and don't stand up for Life.
Wow! The Roman church is concerned about life from birth to "natural" death? How many people died an unnatural death at the hands of this same institution? (0:35)
You have to say what the church teaches? (2:16) If you are catholic you can't be pro abortion? (5:36)
You can't ba catholic AND have an opinion. That is clear.
Start thinking, people! You are being scammed!
Dare you to refute this Youtube vid: "The Bible: Evidence that God is evil" and post you comments here.
I am Catholic.Don't agree with all the church has to say.But if Nancy's dad would of wore a condom or at least pulled out we would not be having this talk.
condoms? i'm not cathlic and i know he/they teach your not suppose to have sex out of marriage. which i've done. I'm not perfect. there is no reason to teach about condoms. Also every politican has to claim they are a part of a church to get elected or at least claim they are.
Actually, the Catholic church denounces the use of contraceptives even if you are married. But to your point, I agree that Pelosi is probably just trying to appeal to the Democrat voters.
However, Pro-Choice does not necessarily mean Pro-Abortion. It simply means that you do not believe the government has the right to tell you whether or not you can have one.
Abortion is a very tough issue when debating. If you are a true believer in God,TRUE believer? You have to ask yourself one question.Under any circumstance?Any situation?ANY AT ALL!Would God justify the taking of a unborn childs life? For believers the answer should be simple.

@HouseHaunter484 putting words into somebody's mouth in not a valid argument in any sense of the word, it's simply a response that someone uses when they have no other way to justify their argument.
@jays2474 some people will get an abortion weather or not it is legal. that's why it's legal, so that woman won't get themselves killed getting illegal abortions. it has nothing to do with your religion, because this is a secular country, not a theocracy.
@jays2474 the problem is that many pro-choice people are atheists and therefore, u have to either find a really good argument or go through the long process of converting them.
The Holy See is right. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a pro-abortion rights zelot. She is a legislator, and is her duty to promote the protection of human life from conception to natural death. As Fr. Morris said you can't be pro-abortion and be Catholic. Speaker Pelosi is an ardent leftist not an " ardent practicing Catholic. She is a disgrace.
Try getting some statistics that compare abortion where condoms are used, and in those places where they are less used. Maybe you'll understand what we mean by "culture of sex".
re: "...you'll understand what we mean by 'culture of sex'."
Oh, I understand - perfectly. You're simply using empty slogans to judge those who get it more than you do. This is why the prurient prunes at the Vatican need to revise their position on allowing priests to get laid. They're babbling much ado about nothing.
"...it is those who need to resort to name calling as support for their beliefs who can be disregarded as having nothing meaningful to say."
Just like those who believe the world is divided up into two kinds of people: those who think the world is divided into two kinds of people, and those who don't.
A majority of us prefer our women alive and empowered to make their own autonomous decisions in the U.S. Their bodies, their choice. You can keep your wire hangers.
Unless wire hangers means belly cords, not even a half of your comment makes sense.
In case you didn't know, life not only begins with conception (this is science!), but also the first cell differs from both father and mother. If one does not feed his/her own baby, the baby would die and the person would be condemned a murderer. In case of abortion, woman does less since the baby will in a sense, take its own, so she just needs to let it live, and not tear the body of her child out of her own.
"In case you didn't know, life not only begins with conception (this is science!)"
From oocyte to blastocyst without assisted living, is it? Hardly. If it cannot survive on it's own, it isn't the same as another human being. But, the Vatican's gross in-utero obsession and revision is pure fantasy. What a shame they don't love women enough to value them as humans, but would elevate a clump of cells above their well-being. How shameful, oh hypocrites.
>If it cannot survive on it's own, it isn't the same as another human being.
Ok, guy. Do you think about what you say? There's a world full of non-adults.
Actually, even your precious court ruling says "it's alive" if it can live outside of the womb by artificial means. That also reveals all that is considered here is selfish self indulgence.
>would elevate a clump of cells above their well-being
Everyone was a "clump of cells", and women won't die if they don't abort, so cut the crap.
"That also reveals all that is considered here is selfish self indulgence." According to whom again? Certainly not god, gods, or anything divine. Even if there were such a being, organized religion, particularly the Vatican, would be the last place to have that special earthly connection. The point being neither the Vatican nor its cheerleaders get to write the narrative about what is or isn't selfish since they've raised the bar on selfishness to a new level.
Calling the Church out will not make you right on this issue. "Human is not a human until can provide for himself" is all you've got so far, and I think rarely anyone sees that as convincing by now. No, law should not allow legal murder under excuse of protecting the murderer's health. It doesn't make sense.
I don't require your permission to call an institution out on their hypocrisy, particularly those trying to claim the moral high ground when they themselves don't have any.
Don't like abortion? Then don't have one. Problem solved. Autonomy begins and ends with yourself - you don't get to decide for anyone else. Try doing a beneficial public service and pass out some condoms to promote people loving each other safer - that's real compassion.
>I don't require your permission to call an institution out on their hypocrisy
You certainly don't. Even the ignorant has a right to express their opinion. What I said was that even if it was true for the Church, it still wouldn't prove you write.
>Then don't have one.
Unless you're a doctor and you're forced too by law? Abortion is murder and should be illegal as such.
>people loving each other safer
Pff. "Unsafe love"!? This world misuses the world because it doesn't understand it.
"Even the ignorant has a right to express their opinion."
No they don't. That's called entitlement, and therapy is a good place to resolve it.
"Abortion is murder" In your view, so don't get one. "and should be illegal as such." This comes back to entitlement. Autonomy begins and ends with yourself, not the uterus of another woman. Our views part ways in the way we see women: your view infantilizes, and I trust them to know what they're doing, not you.
She will be held accountable when she dies! Now that's real accountability!!!!!

why doesnt anyone address the bottom line? and that is "fornication in america" it is the reason why abortion is so high and also the reason why std's are so high. if we make illicit sex illegal and encourage marriage with bases of justice between both parties it will end this disease. but people dont want a cure, they just wanna treat the symptoms.
imreadyyo26 6 months ago
@imreadyyo26 Amen brother.
franciscodudeful 6 months ago
@imreadyyo26 I hope you're joking. Making extramarital sex illegal will not solve anything. Has making drunk driving illegal stopped everyone from doing it? No. Does the illegality of murder stop people from committing homicide? Sometimes, but when people are intent on doing something, they'll do it.
The bottom line is not lack of laws but lack of education. The, "Don't have sex, or you will get an STD, and you will die," abstinence spiel from Mean Girls doesn't work. We need to teach Safe Sex
LTM32893 5 months ago
@LTM32893 your point is shallow. why would you make drunk driving illegal without making the crap there drinking illegal? you have to make the"source" illegal to actually have an impact on society. educating people on sex is not that helpful. we make sex too available for our youth thats the problem. there should be stronger laws against illicit sex. 2 kids would think twice if they knew the penalty was flogging. and we never seem to educate kids on getting married. only "how to have sex".
imreadyyo26 5 months ago
@imreadyyo26 "you have to make the"source" illegal to actually have an impact on society" And Prohibition worked so well in the 1920s, didn't it?
"there should be stronger laws against illicit sex."
I agree, because the only kind of illicit sex is called rape (which includes statutory rape), which isn't even about sex, but power.
"2 kids would think twice if they knew the penalty was flogging."
Where do you think we live? The Middle East? Because we don't.
LTM32893 5 months ago
@imreadyyo26 "we make sex too available for our youth thats the problem."
That is not the problem. The problem is holy rollers who think that they are entitled to tell people what they should do in the bedroom. You need to stop living in fairy tale land and realize that, regardless of what you make illegal, people will still have sex. People get STDs because they have sex with people who have STDs without using protection, or their protection breaks because they don't know how to use it properly
LTM32893 5 months ago
@LTM32893 you dont have to be holy to accept the truth. the truth is sex is a natural instinct and if it is not controlled by the higher values of a people it can become a serious problem. we are not beasts that are supposed to have sex with whomever is willing. if we treated our civilization like our sex lives we would be like cavemen wearing pieces of leaves for protection. it is hypocritical to call our nation civilized and we cant even be truly civilized when it comes to sex.
imreadyyo26 5 months ago
@imreadyyo26 I don't deny the fact that people shouldn't "have sex with whomever is willing." I do, however, deny that there should be LAWS against sex prohibiting it under penalty of fines, incarceration, or corporal punishment. That is what happens in what we largely perceive as uncivilized nations like Saudi Arabia. I also deny the last two sentences of your argument seeing as you have no proof and there is no reason to base a nation's civility on their gov'ts involvement in their sex lives.
LTM32893 5 months ago
@LTM32893 and its people that lived in a fairy tales that changed our world because they believed what was considered impossible and just too far out. i dont live in your matrix of condoms that allow you to live out your worldly fantasies with jane. i say again. we are not beasts. here is my solution. seek a wife with pure intentions. get to know the family and her. then court her with a relative to keep her honor in tact. then if you like her get married. if she likes you. "civilized"
imreadyyo26 5 months ago
@imreadyyo26 I honestly am not trying to sound rude, but there is no other way to put this: your proposition is deluded and foolish. Call me a cynic, but I don't know how you can truly know if someone has "pure intentions." Call me crazy, but courtship is supposed to be a time when two people become intimate and learn about each other--adding a third wheel will muck it up and make it uncomfortable. I don't live in your matrix of pick-and-choose pseudobiblical morality, and am glad of it.
LTM32893 5 months ago
@LTM32893 the fact that you feel uncomfortable with another person shows your true intention. it shows that you would rather be in seclusion with someone so you can be the perve you want or talk about issues that dont need to be talked about yet. your not supposed to be getting intimate on the first or second date. you should be discussing real issues about each other. not "your so pretty" what size is your breast" and all the nasty things people say when left alone.
imreadyyo26 5 months ago
@imreadyyo26 It shows nothing of the sort. That is an absurd leap, untrue, and an ad hominem argument. When you're with people, friends, cousins, whatever, you don't want Big Brother there to listen to everything you're talking about, even if it is an extremely mundane topic.
LTM32893 4 months ago
@LTM32893 attractive male and female who are strangers to one another, alone by themselves is a breeding situation technically. lets state the facts that we can observe through history. this is why sex on the first date is a big issue in america. it doesnt matter how civilized the man is. he will have lustful thoughts if left alone with an attractive female. so it is important to have a relative to accommodate both parties. it helps to keep there indecent thoughts from materializing. lol

"If you're going to say your catholic, say what the catholic church teaches." Also it should be noted the majority of catholic's voted for Obama in the 2008 elections... meaning if the catholic church wants to keep their followers a.k.a income they should get with the times.
lilnug1 9 months ago
Many leave the Church because they choose to follow their own opinions and world view rather than the teachings of Christ. No one who prays daily, attends The Mass and receives the Sacraments frequently, and reads Scripture could agree with such an erroneous outlook. The fact is most Catholics today do not observe or believe what The Church has taught and believed for 2000 years. In essence, they are not truly Catholic.

@cittiavaticano "PAUL calls himself the spiritual Father to the Christians." Jesus during the Sermon on the Mount commands "call no man father." So who should define Christianity, Jesus or Paul?
wagzel 1 year ago

Cmon! if women have a choice to decide what to do with their own body, why can't they shoot up drugs, smoke weed, kill themselves, etc?
greenhorns99 1 year ago
@greenhorns99 I agree. O Reilly talks as though Roe Vs Wade is PART of the Constitution! Roe Vs Wade isn't a law it's an OPINION based on the faulty assumption that the child in the womb is not a person. The child in the womb IS A PERSON which flushes RVW down the toilet where it belongs. Roe Vs Wade is not part of the Constitution, it's in direct contradiction of the 14th amendment, which promises equal protection of laws for all persons.

ModerateGuy738 1 year ago
@supawanich00 The policies only apply to married people, and they have their basis in Jewish and Natural Law. They also can be found in non-biblical texts that come from the first century of the Church's existence. People leave because they prefer the wide door to the narrow gate.
burkardhanis 1 year ago
@supawanich00 In fact, many leave the church because it does not change. The church does not change because it is not supposed to change. also, the Roman Catholic Churches position on any birth control chemicals or tools is that using them will and always will be killing an innocent, which is a mortal sin. Besides, the Pope can not simply change the teaching. It must be approved by many educated individuals with decent, hard, physical evidence which supports birth control. This does not exist...
RidgeofEternity 1 year ago
@RidgeofEternity I agree with you that killing a fetus or baby is sin.Prevention of fertilization by using pills, condom, tubal ligation, vasectomy don't kill any living being. To my knowledge,Christ never prohibit such practice.I strongly believe that one day the Vatican will wake up and support the birth control methods.
supawanich00 1 year ago
@supawanich00 I'm sorry, but no reasons will make that a reality. Even if the acceptance of birth control (chemical or otherwise) will go into the Vatican, there will always be a purging of it to return it to the way it was. The Roman Catholic Church faithful supports itself, without the aid of others. Already, orthodoxy is finding its way back into the RCC, worldwide. Even if the RCC changes in america, england, france or even russia, there will always be another part of the RCC to restore it.

Any form of birth control changes the natural definition of what sexuality is. This is absolutely against natural law. Not a single chooses to have their own death. Only those who are born promote the murder of the unborn. Just as only the free promoted slavery.
AdversusHaereses 9 months ago
@AdversusHaereses "Only those who are born promote the murder of the unborn."
That's like saying "Only those who aren't jellybeans promote the eating of jellybeans." The "unborn" cannot think, feel, or exist as their own independent entity. What they CAN do, however, is develop into people who say, "I'm glad my mother had the choice to give birth to me, and I love my mother enough that I wouldn't have wanted my birth forced upon her if it would have caused her suffering."
gingerbreadcorpses 8 months ago
@gingerbreadcorpses Oh, ok. So you must be glad for a right that you have that your mother gave upon you. That is like saying 'Im glad my slaveowner freed me'. You have a natural right to life and from the moment of your own conception your genetic blueprint is written. 'The unborn cannot think, feel, or exist as their own independent entity'. Well tell me if babies can live on their own without their mother. And think? Well does that justify then killing those who sleep? They can't think then.
AdversusHaereses 8 months ago
@AdversusHaereses Babies CAN live without their mother. ANYBODY can take care of a baby. A FETUS is directly dependent on another individual's body for continued growth, and lives inside that body. Killing a sleeping person without their consent is wrong because when people go to sleep, they do not automatically give consent to be killed.
gingerbreadcorpses 8 months ago
@gingerbreadcorpses They do not give consent just like the unborn babies do not give consent. And from my point, I think you failed to miss it that babies cannot survive on their own. They still need to breastfeed with the assistance of someone else, usually and naturally it is the mother. So dependency does not finish at birth.
AdversusHaereses 8 months ago
@AdversusHaereses Fetuses cannot consent to or protest anything. They have no consciousness. And I got your point: babies are dependent. But babies do not get created by mistake. When a mother gives birth, she has made her choice to have the baby and has decided she can care for it. Embryos get created by mistake all the time. And all human beings are dependent on others, to some degree or another. But only fetuses are directly dependent on and living inside someone else's person.
gingerbreadcorpses 8 months ago
@gingerbreadcorpses Right so according to your logic only those who the parents chose to have are true babies. Great reasoning there eh? What about those neglected babies after birth? Are they not true babies?
AdversusHaereses 8 months ago
Since when does the constitution give someone the right to kill anther human being? Abortion is deliberate killing of the unborn; this is a natural law. The fact this country allows murder is an abomination. God does not bless America; and He

NationalApostasy 1 year ago
The pope obviously has no respect for the United States Constitution, which clearly says, "CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." History testifies of the papacy's artful and persistent efforts to insinuate herself into the affairs of nations; and having gained a foothold, to further her own aims, even at the ruin of princes and people. The people need to be aroused to resist this most dangerous foe of civil and religious liberty.

abortion is not a Catholic nor any other religious issue. Its an issue dealing with natural human rights.
pylonrequired7 1 year ago
It's NOT ONLY a religious issue, a political issue.
It's a MORAL and SCIENTIFIC Issue also because Roe v. Wade was based on ideology and not based on scientific definition on when life starts.

Dare you to refute this Youtube vid: "The Bible: Evidence that God is evil" and post you comments here.

condoms? i'm not cathlic and i know he/they teach your not suppose to have sex out of marriage. which i've done. I'm not perfect. there is no reason to teach about condoms. Also every politican has to claim they are a part of a church to get elected or at least claim they are.
devil03dawg41 2 years ago 2
Actually, the Catholic church denounces the use of contraceptives even if you are married. But to your point, I agree that Pelosi is probably just trying to appeal to the Democrat voters.
However, Pro-Choice does not necessarily mean Pro-Abortion. It simply means that you do not believe the government has the right to tell you whether or not you can have one.

The pope cares so much for these babies in america why does he not care for aids orphans in africa and change his stance on condoms.

Abortion is a very tough issue when debating. If you are a true believer in God,TRUE believer? You have to ask yourself one question.Under any circumstance?Any situation?ANY AT ALL!Would God justify the taking of a unborn childs life? For believers the answer should be simple.

Two birds, one condom: reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and HIV infections. Then we can move onto solving world hunger and promoting peace.
rasaxSF 2 years ago
Try getting some statistics that compare abortion where condoms are used, and in those places where they are less used. Maybe you'll understand what we mean by "culture of sex".
paxcoder 2 years ago
re: "...you'll understand what we mean by 'culture of sex'."
Oh, I understand - perfectly. You're simply using empty slogans to judge those who get it more than you do. This is why the prurient prunes at the Vatican need to revise their position on allowing priests to get laid. They're babbling much ado about nothing.

"Can you quote something of a sort?"
See US Supreme Court ruling: Roe v. Wade.

It violates "privacy" (!??!?) until "potentially able to live outside the mother's womb, albeit with artificial aid." (how about frozen embryos?).
Wah, the whole thing is a joke.
paxcoder 2 years ago
"Wah, the whole thing is a joke."
A majority of us prefer our women alive and empowered to make their own autonomous decisions in the U.S. Their bodies, their choice. You can keep your wire hangers.
rasaxSF 2 years ago
Unless wire hangers means belly cords, not even a half of your comment makes sense.
In case you didn't know, life not only begins with conception (this is science!), but also the first cell differs from both father and mother. If one does not feed his/her own baby, the baby would die and the person would be condemned a murderer. In case of abortion, woman does less since the baby will in a sense, take its own, so she just needs to let it live, and not tear the body of her child out of her own.
paxcoder 2 years ago
"In case you didn't know, life not only begins with conception (this is science!)"
From oocyte to blastocyst without assisted living, is it? Hardly. If it cannot survive on it's own, it isn't the same as another human being. But, the Vatican's gross in-utero obsession and revision is pure fantasy. What a shame they don't love women enough to value them as humans, but would elevate a clump of cells above their well-being. How shameful, oh hypocrites.
rasaxSF 2 years ago
>If it cannot survive on it's own, it isn't the same as another human being.
Ok, guy. Do you think about what you say? There's a world full of non-adults.
Actually, even your precious court ruling says "it's alive" if it can live outside of the womb by artificial means. That also reveals all that is considered here is selfish self indulgence.
>would elevate a clump of cells above their well-being
Everyone was a "clump of cells", and women won't die if they don't abort, so cut the crap.
paxcoder 2 years ago
"That also reveals all that is considered here is selfish self indulgence." According to whom again? Certainly not god, gods, or anything divine. Even if there were such a being, organized religion, particularly the Vatican, would be the last place to have that special earthly connection. The point being neither the Vatican nor its cheerleaders get to write the narrative about what is or isn't selfish since they've raised the bar on selfishness to a new level.
rasaxSF 2 years ago
Calling the Church out will not make you right on this issue. "Human is not a human until can provide for himself" is all you've got so far, and I think rarely anyone sees that as convincing by now. No, law should not allow legal murder under excuse of protecting the murderer's health. It doesn't make sense.
paxcoder 2 years ago
I don't require your permission to call an institution out on their hypocrisy, particularly those trying to claim the moral high ground when they themselves don't have any.
Don't like abortion? Then don't have one. Problem solved. Autonomy begins and ends with yourself - you don't get to decide for anyone else. Try doing a beneficial public service and pass out some condoms to promote people loving each other safer - that's real compassion.
rasaxSF 2 years ago
>I don't require your permission to call an institution out on their hypocrisy
You certainly don't. Even the ignorant has a right to express their opinion. What I said was that even if it was true for the Church, it still wouldn't prove you write.
>Then don't have one.
Unless you're a doctor and you're forced too by law? Abortion is murder and should be illegal as such.
>people loving each other safer
Pff. "Unsafe love"!? This world misuses the world because it doesn't understand it.
paxcoder 2 years ago
"Even the ignorant has a right to express their opinion."
No they don't. That's called entitlement, and therapy is a good place to resolve it.
"Abortion is murder" In your view, so don't get one. "and should be illegal as such." This comes back to entitlement. Autonomy begins and ends with yourself, not the uterus of another woman. Our views part ways in the way we see women: your view infantilizes, and I trust them to know what they're doing, not you.
