The hard answer is probably that the kernel of "the dream" remains necessary, and worthy. Pink certainly achieved star status. And I'm sure that brought great rewards. But of course it was not possible without a lot of compromise and disillusionment along the way. Growing up can never be forseen entirely by the child. I love Pink so much! She truly is a poweful voice for all us young girls! Life is tough, but sometimes it's tougher for some people than what it is for others. Pink speaks to those of us that just have to go through hell and back everyday of our lives. She isn't singing about Friday nights and alcohol like Katy and Ke$ha.., she sings about how it's okay to be different, reaching your dreams, etc. She touches on strange topics, like you mentioned, but calling people dirty ponies and wanting to hose them down isn't generic. She is HUGELY motivational and if you'd ever gone to one of her concerts you would see what I mean.

I had no one and to make it worse everyone at school hated me. It wasnt until we moved to another state, i got really happy and felt so at home i didnt have to pretend to be happy anymore.
