Nothing league? The Austrian League isn't weaker than the Scottish Prem. Celtic and Rangers are the only teams that don't get humiliated in Europe regularly, but on the other hand there were four Austrian teams in the Europa League group stages.

Celtic and Rangers always have good sides, but the rest of the league is rubbish. Alright, teams like Mattersburg or Kapfenberg are not gonna win the CL, but the Austrian league as a whole is better than the Scottish imo. Salzburg's squad is getting better from year to year as they are owned and sponsored by Red Bull and both Viennese teams Rapid and Austria Vienna are both quite strong and could reach the Europa League group stages again, although Rapid face Villa again.

The Austrian league dosen't do anything though. Put it this way, 5 of our 12 top teams played in Europe last season at one stage or another.... 3 will have been in the Europa league this season, and Rangers are already in the Champions League.

Theres a higher standard here than there is in Austria, and that all comes from the fact we are next door to England. It isnt a dig at Austria, its just a geographical circumstance. Also, the SPL wasent always bad.

Well, I guess you don't know much about Austrian football (no offense, if I was Scottish I wouldn't care as well), but we have some players who would make the Rangers starting XI I think. Korkmaz, Arnautovic and maybe Janko.

The only player im interested in is Jelavic, though that only comes as natural since we're linked with him. We've signed Sebo, Sionko and Papac, and they weren't good enough here.

well, I can only judge scottish football from international games as i only see the old firm in the premier league, but last year's results were quite shocking tbh.

aberdeen got beaten 5-1 and 3-0 by a side called sigma olomuc, motherwell lost 0-3 and 1-3 against steaua and hearts also had little chance against dinamo (who got eliminated by salzburg one round later). rangers also didn't do well exactly in the champions league.

@markus1312 Last years were shocking, but thats primarily down to alot of transformation in the old firm. Remember in the last 10 years, both rangers and celtic have made european finals. Thats better than most leagues outside the top 4 + russia can say, and their finances are endless.

Aberdeen drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich not just 2 years ago, and Hearts made the champions league qualifiers (splitting the old firm)
