I look forward to seeing the movie one way or another. Just found out about it. I lived in a town like this (on top of it being from somewhere else) and was a lot like this guy in terms of what I believed about morals and the like, just with more curiosity outside of special interests. I tried to be normal and did some extracurriculars (nerdy stuff like quiz bowl and drama), but I got tired of the bullshit and left for online AP courses, a GED, and college after my junior year.

i saw this documentary on hbo one morning

it caught my attention and i was like

"wow"

its a great film

i agree with Gravey Lazer

it made me smile sometimes

and at other times it made me want to hug him

i said "why? he doesn't even like me!" he replied "because you have to, he's your dad" i ended the conversation by getting out of the vehicle and chose to walk 5 miles home because i said "he's no father of mine if he cant even respect his own son" after a few months i attended the film festival and you can imagine why i would smile when he said why respect those who don't respect you? it was a very interesting day and i really enjoyed the documentary 10/10.

i met jennifer at the film fest in oxford, a really nice woman and when i watched this film it really caught my attention because billy's point of view on things are so similar to mine, it's like having a significant other in america and i quote always, "why respect those who dont respect you?" i said it to my brother one day about our dad and he said "you have to respect him because you do"

in all honesty, i went to school with him freshman year at mt.ararat in topsham, maine.

he used to sit infront of me in spanish class, and i remember one day he told me i looked like i could be a field hockey player. he was a nice kid, a lot of people picked on him, and it was sad.

he used to be sent to the office all the time for swearing and shouting things out loud.

he asked my friend carly callie to the dance and she said no, and i felt so bad.

he really is a great person.

Never too late to start over if you really want to. You've got to act on empathy, or you're as lost as far as being a good person is concerned as Billy is as far as being a successful jerk. What did you really do with him? Like, what efforts did you or didn't you make? I know it might sound a bit forward and late after a year, but I'm curious because I was treated a lot like him in high school.

i love him!! kinda, a tiny bit, reminds me of me...in that awkward sense. those kinds of characters, i dont know, theres just something about them thats different, that attracts ppl i think. there should be more movies about these 'unique' kinds of characters. totally unstereotypical. i love some of the things he says... especially the "im not black, not white, not foreign, just different in the mind..." very cool.
